Kris, beloved wife of Scott Barnouw of Calgary, AB, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by her loving family on December 1, 2013 at the age of 45 years.
Kris is survived by her loving husband, Scott; precious children, Graham & Allison; parents, Pat & Gerrie Layton; brother and sister-in-law, Mike & Heather Layton; nephews, Connor & Adam Layton; Father-in-law, Ralph Barnouw; grandmothers, Mabel Garner and Bertha Coates; sister-in-law Beverley (George) Knowles and their children Ashley & Lindsey; as well as many aunts, uncles & cousins. She was predeceased by her grandfathers, Elmer Garner and Ron Coates; and mother-in-law, Connie Barnouw.
A Celebration of Kris’s Life will be held at Centre Street Church “Central Campus” (3900 – 2nd Street N.E. Calgary, AB) on Thursday, December 5, 2013 at 1:30 p.m. Condolences may be forwarded through http://www.mcinnisandholloway.com. The family wishes to extend their heartfelt thanks to all the health care professionals and the staff at the Tom Baker Cancer Centre, for their compassionate care. EXNER, SISTER MARIANNE,
formerly Sister Loretta Maria, 98, a Sister of St. Martha of Antigonish, died at Bethany, motherhouse on Thursday, November 28, 2013. She was in the 74th year of religious life.
Maria Anna, the oldest of ten children of the late Isidor and Teresa (Ruher) Exner, was born in Killaly, SK.
Sister Marianne entered the Congregation of the Sisters of St. Martha November 1938, and made her perpetual commitment August 1945.
Sister first ministered for eleven years in household services at Bethany, and St. Martha’s Convent, Antigonish; in Cape Breton, at Little Flower Institute, Bras d’Or, and St. Joseph’s Hospital, Glace Bay. Following this period, she spent forty-one years in Western Canada. There she served in the same ministries in CSM hospital institutions in Lethbridge, and Banff, AB; Regina and Melville, SK. While missioned in Calgary, AB, Sister volunteered in an outreach program. After retirement in 1985, she continued volunteering her services as homemaker or dietary assistant in Martha commuities in the west and east.
Sister Marianne is survived by one brother, James. Besides her parents she was predeceased by two sisters, Elizabeth and Johanna; and six brothers, Anthony, Arnold, Francis Joseph, Frank, John and William.
The remains will be resting at Bethany, beginning Sunday, December 1st at 1:15 p.m. A Celebration of Vigil will be held on the same evening at 7:30. Liturgy of Christian Burial will take place on Monday, December 2nd at 2:00 p.m. in Bethany Chapel.

MRS. DEBBIE PLOMP, beloved wife of Mr. Garry Plomp, of Lethbridge, passed away at the Foothills Medical Centre on Thursday, November 28th, 2013 at the age of 58 years.
Besides her loving husband of 33 years Debbie is survived by her Son Brandon Plomp and her Daughter Kim (Chris) Pregernig, as well as her Granddaughter Isabelle, the apple of her grandmothers’ eye. Debbie is also survived by her parents Paul & Margaret Koznick, her Brother David and her Sister Irene.

ROBERT H. HILLMER
1924 ~ 2013
Mr. Robert Hillmer, of Lethbridge, formerly of Magrath passed away on Thursday November 28, 2013 at the age of 89 years.
Robert was born and raised in the farming community of Magrath. He worked as a Bus Driver, Truck Driver, Mechanic and Warehouse Foreman at Alberta Canning for many years before purchasing his parents’ farm and beginning to grain farm and raise Red Poll cattle. He was an avid gardener and loved building things. Robert and Agnes were season ticket holders from 1974 until 2012 of the original Lethbridge Broncos, now the Lethbridge Hurricanes and rarely ever missed a game.
Robert is survived by his daughter Donna (Arnold) Warnock; son Thomas (Anne) Hillmer; grandchildren Candace (Peter) Dyck, Derek (Connie) Hillmer, Gavin (Krista) Warnock and Heidi (Greg) Lutz; great-grandchildren Emily and Stephanie Dyck and Luke and Anna Hillmer; sister Marie Gillett and Evelyn Hillmer (sister- in-law); brothers Norman (Barbara) Hillmer and Ervin (Carolynn) Hillmer; nieces, nephews, cousins and their families.
Besides his loving wife Agnes, Robert was predeceased by his parents Harry &Nettie Hillmer; brothers Lawrence, Albert “Bart”, Marvin, George; sisters Ella Brandvold, Florence Hillmer (infant) and infant daughter Patti.
Family and friends are invited to pay their final respects from 7:00pm to 8:00pm on Tuesday, December 3, 2013 at MARTIN BROTHERS FUNERAL CHAPELS, 610-4 Street South, Lethbridge, AB.
A Funeral Service will be held at 11:00am on Wednesday, December 4, 2013 at the MAGRATH UNITED CHURCH, 181W-1 Ave North, with Pastor Brian Amison, officiating. Interment will follow in the Magrath Cemetery.
