STEVE RIGO
1939 ~ 2013
Steve Rigo, beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle and friend passed away on Friday, December 20, 2013 at the age of 74. Steve faced his lengthy battle with Multiple Sclerosis with strength, courage, and grace. Steve¹s greatest love was for his family. He will be dearly missed by his wife and best friend of 49 years, Maureen; his daughters Sherry Bradshaw and Barb (Gary) Nekich; as well as his cherished grandchildren Tyler and Brianna Bradshaw and Alex Nekich. When he was able, Steve loved to travel. His vacation home in Whitefish, Montana was a favorite destination, and he treasured the memories of time spent there with family and friends. He also enjoyed playing cards, golfing and dancing. Those who knew him best loved his quick wit and sense of humor. When Steve was around, laughter filled the room. Some of our most favorite memories are of him telling jokes, especially those times when he would laugh at his own jokes. In these moments, there was not a dry eye in the house. Steve valued the circle of friends that surrounded him and loved the simple things in life. In the last few years, coffee with the boys at McDonald¹s was something he looked forward to every day. Steve braved the progression of his disease with remarkable resolve, a positive outlook, and a strong sense of gratitude. Steve cherished having the love of his life, Maureen, by his side and always expressed his deep gratitude to her for keeping him in the comfort of his own home. He is now in God¹s keeping, and the grip of his disease has been released. Stevie, you are one-of-a-kind. Knowing you and loving you was a gift. We treasure our memories of you. For the time we had with you, and will have again, you are forever in our hearts. We take joy in thinking of you moving freely and dancing in Heaven. Maureen asks that you save the last dance for her. A private family service will be held at Mountain View Cemetery. In honour of Steve¹s memory a Memorial Service will be celebrated in January 2014, arrangements to be announced when completed. Send condolences at http://www.mbfunerals.com.
