Psalm 23
The Lord Is My Shepherd;
I shall not want
He maketh me to lie down in green pastures;
He leadeth me beside the still waters.
He restoreth my soul:
He leadeth me in the path of righteousness for His name’s sake.
Yea, though I walk through the valley of the Shadow of death, I will fear no evil:
for Thou art with me;
Thy rod and Thy staff they comfort me.
Thou preparest a table before me in the presence of mine enemies:
Thou anointest my head with oil;
My cup runneth over.
Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me All the days of my life;
and I will dwell in the house of the Lord forever.

SUTTON
Derwyn Alfred Sutton passed away on Thursday January 2, 2014. He faced his battle with respiratory illness in the same manner that he approached life, with forthrightness and gratitude despite setbacks. He is predeceased by his mother Velva and his father William. He leaves behind his son, Matthew; his daughter-in-law Sarah and his three granddaughters: Paige, Cedar and Adele. He leaves behind his brothers and their wives and his nephews/nieces: Glenn and Sharon (Christopher, Shawn and Greg), Bev and Ann (Billy and Dina), Tom and Francis (Randy and Michelle).
Derwyn was born and raised in Barrie, Ontario. He maintained close family relationships especially with his brother Glenn and wife Sharon. During the early 80’s he moved to Alberta to be near his son and create a life for them both. He worked in construction: painting, dry walling, carpentry and related tasks in residential and commercial projects. His greatest passion was working with Matthew and being an active part in his son’s formative and adult life. It gave him pleasure to complete jobs in a fair manner with excellent workmanship. He was well known for his gregarious humour and razor-sharp wit. His good natured teasing, storytelling and his ability to develop quick relationships left those around him with a smile, and more often than not, an outright belly laugh. Derwyn made it a point to let people know when they were appreciated; was quick to encourage those around him and readily pitched in to help when needed. He did not care for showmanship, and his candid approach to everyday living was appreciated by the many lives he touched.
Derwyn will be fully missed by all those who loved him and by those he interacted with on a regular basis. He was raised with solid Christian principles by a strong, supportive mother and Derwyn sincerely accepted God’s comforting love and saving grace as he moved forward with his life.
Derwyn expressed that he lived a full and good life. A Celebration of Life will be held at CORNERSTONE FUNERAL HOME, 2800 Mayor Magrath Drive South, Lethbridge, on Tuesday, January 7, 2014 at 2:00 P.M.
If friends so desire, in lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to the Lung Association, Alberta & NWT, P.O. Box 4500 Station South, Edmonton, Alberta T6E 6K2.
