HELEN BOETTCHER, of Lethbridge, passed away peacefully at the Chinook Regional Hospital on Tuesday, February 11th, 2014 at the age of 81 years. Funeral arrangements to be announced when completed.
HEALY
We are sad to announce the sudden passing of DAVE HEALY at home on February 5, 2014 at the age of 74 years. Dave was born August 6, 1939 at the Blood Indian Hospital on the Blood Reserve. Dave was survived by his loving wife Shirley of 54 years. He is survived by his children, Ivan (Patsy), Geoff (Tracy), Delcy (Russ), Lynn (Mark), Lorin (Joyce), and Joyce (Frank), Leon (Pam), Linda Fox (Joe), Gordon Plain Women (Leona) and Delray (Nadine) Wadworth. He was predeceased by his son Darwin (Rusty) Healy, grand children Tawny Jo Healy and TJ Healy. Parents, David and Gwen Healy, brothers Fred, Richard, Merle Healy and sister Dorothy Ward, and brother in laws Oliver Ward and Alphonse Eagle Bear. David was survived by his brothers Les Healy (Evelyn), Wilfred Soop, his sisters Nora Eagle Bear and Carmen (Gilbert) Black Water. The family would like to acknowledge his special friend and cousin Herbert Many Fingers. Dave took over his father¹s haying operation and became a major contributor of hay in Southern Alberta in the late sixties and the seventies. Dave was one of the original members who started the Blood Reserve Bus Co-op on the Blood Reserve and was a member till his passing. In 1971 Dave purchased his first race horse and became one of the original members of Alberta Quarter Horse Racing Association in the Province. Dave became a very successful owner, trainer and won several major races and awards for his accomplishments on the track, he raced successfully in both the USA and Canada. During the winter in his youth he enjoyed playing hockey and riding horses which brought on his interest in the American Quarter Horse to which he raced and bred till his passing. The family of Dave would like to thank all those who showed there support and kindness during our time of need. A Wake Service will be held at St. Paul¹s Anglican Church, Blood Reserve on Thursday, February 13th from 7:00 to 11:00 p.m. The Funeral Service will be held at St. Paul¹s Anglican Church, Blood Reserve on Friday, February 14th at 12:00 Noon. with Canon Allan McCuaig and Reverend Michael Tipper Officiating. Mrs. Rose Aitken of Lethbridge, beloved wife of the late Mr. Earl Cameron Aitken passed away peacefully at the Chinook Regional Hospital on Thursday, February 6, 2014 at the age of 92 years. Rose was born December 26, 1921 to John & Mary Chorm in Seech, Manitoba. She attended the Oakburn School in Brandon, Manitoba. Rose was a devoted and loving wife, mother and homemaker. Rose enjoyed spending time in her garden caring for her flowers and had a keen interest in all kinds and species of birds. She had a special gift for needlework, knitting and crocheting. She will be deeply missed. Rose is survived by her daughters Margaret Aitken, Beverly (Gorden) Cargill, Shirley (William) Barnowich, Judy (Jim) May, Connie Koncz and Michele (Lyle) Taylor; her grandchildren Angela Cable, Greg Cable, Warren Cargill, Wesley (Kari) Cargill, Jeanette (Mike) Phelan, Jon Barnowich, Jeremey May and Jenny May as well as numerous great-grandchildren. Besides her loving husband Earl, Rose was predeceased by her parents; her parents in law William & Eliza Aitken; daughter Cecelia Aitken; brothers Pete, Mike and Bill Chorm; sisters Lena Sherb, Annie Ferby, Nellie Poole, and Stella Chorm; 2 infant daughters; 1 infant son and her grandchild Lisa Maria Cable. Muriel Stannard passed away peacefully at the Rockyview General Hospital on Sunday, February 9, 2014 surrounded by her family. Mom was born at Hillsdown, AB, married dad in 1944 and raised her family near Lomond, AB. Her family was always the most important thing in her life. She lived for her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Dad left us in October 2002 and she missed him everyday thereafter. Mom leaves a lifetime of memories to her children Bill, Heather, Jack (Carol), Bonnie (David) and Debbie (Michael); her grandchildren Joe, Trish (Dean), Nicholas, Gregory (Melanie), Nathan and Jason (Jenna); and her great-grandchildren Kane, Taylor and Calla.
