Audrey Iris Rollefson (MacLennan), nee Dyer
August 19, 1922 –
March 21, 2014
Audrey passed peacefully, surrounded by family, at St. Michaels Palliative Care in Lethbridge, Alberta. Born in Mission, BC to Harry and Annie Dyer, then raised in New Westminster, B.C. While in Vancouver in 1949 she met and then married Ellis MacLennan. Audrey and Ellis had two children (Patricia and Donald) and after numerous moves within Edmonton, Calgary, Lethbridge they settled in Regina establishing and operating MacLennan’s Leather Goods. Widowed in 1976, she met and married Herb Rollefson in 1978. Widowed once again in 1979 Audrey moved back to Vancouver to be closer to her daughter, and siblings. While there she was blessed with family ties, friends, occasional out of country vacations, golfing, bowling, live theater, socializing and most of all excellent health. Audrey enjoyed people, chocolate and crosswords. Her humor, character, and caring made her a pleasure for all who met her. Her role as sister, wife, mother, grandmother, aunt, cousin and friend were second to none. Ageing and health required Audrey to relocate to Lethbridge in October of 2013.
Audrey is survived by her son Don (Theone) MacLennan of Diamond City, Alberta, brother Louis (Min) Dyer of New Westminster, BC, sister Patricia MacLennan of Richmond, BC, four grandchildren Jessica (Emile) Reale of Auckland, New Zealand, Melissa Needleman of Vancouver, BC, Tessa (Jon) Brady of Taber, Alberta, Kailey (Farren) MacLennan of Saskatoon, Saskatchewan, and three great grandchildren Ayden, Lucia, and Rylan.
She was predeceased by her parents Harry and Annie Dyer, husband Ellis MacLennan (1976), and daughter Patricia (2013).
Family would like to acknowledge the compassion and care provided by the staff of Columbia Assisted Living, Lethbridge Home Care, and St. Michaels Palliative Health Centre.

Creator called our daughter, mother, sister, auntie and cherished friend home on the eve of March 23, 2014, after her lengthy battle with several illnesses
Christel Dawn – Matoomsokasimyakii (First Prairie Woman) Plain Eagle- Weasel Bear passed away in Pincher Creek on Sunday, March 23, 2014 at the age of 41 years. Christel was born on November 25, 1972 in Pincher Creek, AB. She attended the Peigan School, as well as Canyon Elementary School, & Mathew Halton High School in Pincher Creek. In her later years she attended Lethbridge Community College in the Criminal Justice Program. In 1994 Christel worked with RCMP as a Liaison officer. In 1995 she graduated from the Adult Education Career Centre (UCEPP) on the Piikani Nation. Other work history includes the Peigan Recreation and Cultural Centre as the administrative assistant and later on the Interim Director of the Old Man River Cultural Centre. She grew up on the Peigan Nation, where in her younger years she was an avid participant on the Pow Wow trail throughout Canada and the United States. Up until recently she was a long time member of the Pow Wow committee, where she volunteered at numerous Pow Wows. Christel was a very proud mom attending every hockey game as well as travelling to different tournaments cheering on her son Kieven. She also enjoyed watching her son and brother playing slow pitch throughout southern Alberta. Her children were her life, her grandson Hayden whom she loved immensely was her pride and joy! She especially enjoyed hanging out with her family and friends sharing stories. Christel is survived by her children Kieven (Megan), Naomi (Brett), Chase and her grandson Hayden; Her Parents Leslie Man Who Smokes and Florence Weasel Bear; Brother Jaron (Kaitlyn); Sister Melanie (Gary); Adopted Brothers ; Kyle Plain Eagle, Randy Wolftail, Lynol Smith, her special niece Baby Girl Hannah, (God Daughter) Joelle; Nephews Tiegan, Mathew, Decan Sean, Rylan, Hunter, and Kicker, Grandmothers; Margaret Plain Eagle, Lousie English, Great Aunties; Elsie Crow Shoe, Catherine George, Great Uncle; Arthur Crow Shoe, Uncles; Stanford (Shannon), Richard (Noreen), Douglas (Sheena), Cameron (Brenda), Calvin (Tammy), Alex (Raeanne), Johnny (Margaret), Wilton, Aunties; Doreen (Eric), Helen (Joe), Deanna Vare, Audrey, Beverly (George), Laura (Doug), Ru, Lorraine, Leona (Coyote) Hall. With Heavy Hearts, we say goodbye to Christel, but we know she will be greeted by all who went before her to welcome her home. The family will gather at 9:00 am on Saturday, March 29, 2014 at the Snodgrass Funeral Home for a Traditional Prayer by Elder Leo Pard. The Wake Service will follow at the residence of Les Man Who Smokes and Florence Weasel Bear on the Piikani Nation, on Saturday, March 29 at 10:00 a.m. The Funeral Service will be held on Monday, March 31, 2014 at 11:00 a.m. at the Piikani Community Hall with Archdeacon Sidney Black officiating. The Interment will follow at the Brocket Cemetery, Piikani Nation. Mr. Gilbert Lloyd Perry of Coalhurst beloved husband of Mrs. Marilyn Perry passed away suddenly on Wednesday, March 26, 2014 at the age of 73 years.
Besides his loving wife Marilyn Perry, Gilbert is survived by his daughter Angela-Lyn (Lorne) McDonald, his three sons Wesley Alexander (Karen), Brent Stephen, and Jason Todd; grandchildren Dillan Johnathan, Samuel Isaiah, Jordan Nathaniel, Mallorie Puckett, Michael (Shelby) Puckett; great-grandchild Jackson Puckett; sister Illene Keam, six brothers Sam (Margaret), Donald (Gwen), David (June), Robert (Gail), Lorne (Bonnie), and Cliff (Mary-Ann); and as well as numerous nieces, nephews and their families.
Gilbert was predeceased by his parents Frederick and Agnes, his daughter Carmen Tracey; brothers Wesley and William and his sister Gertrude (Wesa).

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our much loved mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, Gwen Michelson on March 26, 2014 in Calgary a the age of 84. Gwen is survived by her beloved partner Fharell Lafoy of Calgary; her five children Carolee Walton of Airdrie, Laurie Wieland (Les) of Iron Springs, AB, Linda Hornberger (Steve) of Calgary, Greg Michelson (Karen) of Carbon, AB and Renay Michelson of Airdrie; two stepchildren Barry Byman and Marlene Doucette; 15 grandchildren; 27 great-grand children; her brother Byrnie Bodnaruk (Angela); sisters-in-law Donna and Diane LePard; and many nieces and nephews.
Gwen was predeceased by her husband Dwaine; her friend Verne Byman; her parents Wesley LePard and Lila Johnson; her brothers George, Stuart and Don LePard, Bobby Bodnaruk; and sister Colleen McLean.
Gwen’s greatest joys were shopping, decoration for every occasion, dressing up in western clothes, and dancing and spending time with her family. She was much loved and will be dearly missed.

June Kanomata, beloved wife of the late Joe Kanomata, passed away in Lethbridge on Tuesday, March 25, 2014 at the age of 74 years.

She was predeceased by her parents Usaburo and Chizuko Sawa and Joe¹s parents, Kiyoshi and Miyoshi Kanomata; brother Daniel Sawa, sister Mae Boessenkool; brother-in-law Charlie Kanomata, sisters-in-law Molly Matsumoto, ³little² Carol Sawa and brothers-in-law George Matsumoto and Jeff Ridsdale.
June was born June 25, 1939 in Stave Falls, British Columbia. She married Joe Kanomata in Taber on December 17, 1958. June enjoyed gardening and spending time with her family.
