George (Gerrit) Wemekamp was taken into heavenly glory on Thursday, April 17, 2014 at the age of 70
years.
George is survived by his wife Grace, one son, Bradley Wemekamp, and 2 daughters, Melissa (Robert)
Yeomans and Jodi (Reuben) van Popta; 6 precious grandchildren: Cassidy Wemekamp, Robert George and
Brielle Yeomans, Hannah, Rebecca and Sarah van Popta. George is also survived by 2 sisters and 1 brother.
He was predeceased by 4 brothers and 2 sisters.

Wayne Grant Greep, beloved husband of Joan (Hall) Greep of Cardston, AB passed away suddenly April 17th,
2014 at home at the age of 76.
Wayne is survived by his wife Joan, his best friend and dedicated companion for 54 years, his children,
Cathy (Tom) Needham, Darcy (Suzanne) Greep, Debby (Brett) Salmon, Susie (Kasey) Heaton, Gary (Mandy)
Greep, Shanna (Rockwell) Jensen and Douglas Greep, 15 grandchildren and 1 great-grandchild. He is also
survived by his older brother, Robert (Opal) Greep of Calgary, AB.
Wayne was friendly and kind to all he met and his example of hard work and service exemplified his love
of the Lord and his family. Wayne was an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints
and served faithfully his entire life.
Friends may meet the family on Thursday, April 24th, 2014 from 7:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the Legacy Funeral

Mr. Reinhard Otto Beyer beloved husband of Mrs. Erna Beyer passed away peacefully at his home on

VEENKAMP, Thelma Grace
June 6, 1950 – April 17, 2014
Thelma passed away peacefully in the Claresholm General Hospital on April 17, 2014. She will be dearly
missed by her sisters, Hermina Veenkamp, and Corrie (Gerry) Winter and her extended family, Michelle &
Gerald Anderson and their children Canyon and Aniela, and Scott & Colette Winter and their children
Aiden, Conrad and Brandon and numerous relatives and friends. She was predeceased by her father, Tom
Veenkamp in 1985 and her mother, Gertie Veenkamp (Konynenbelt) in 1997.
Thelma was born on June 6, 1950 and lived on the farm formerly owned by Klaas Poelman, Sr., until the age
of 6. In 1956, the family moved to a farm two miles north of Granum until 1978 when she moved to
Claresholm. In November of 1969, she obtained employment with the Town of Claresholm as receptionist and
later became Assistant Secretary-Treasurer. She retired in 2005 after working 36 years for the Town of
Claresholm. She was a member of the Granum Christian Reformed Church. She loved travelling with her
sister to Europe and North America. Her favourite place to go was Waterton, where she often went with her
family and friends. She enjoyed her retirement and also volunteered at the Claresholm Public Library. She
will be remembered by everyone who knew her as a wonderful sister and friend.
Thelma’s family would like to thank all the wonderful staff of the Chinook Health Unit and the Claresholm
General Hospital for their kindness and caring over the past few months. We would also like to thank
Thelma’s friends for all the offerings of friendship shown to Thelma during her illness. Your love and
support meant so much to her.
Visitation will be held at Leyden’s Funeral Home (4079-1st Street West, Claresholm) on Tuesday, April 22,
2014 from 7:00 to 8:00 pm. Burial will take place at the Granum Christian Reformed Cemetery, prior to the
service, on Wednesday, April 23, 2014 at 12:30 pm. The funeral service will be held at the Granum
Christian Reformed Church on Wednesday, April 23, 2014 at 2:00 pm with Pastor Henry Veldboom officiating.

 Hans Skretting, passed away in Taber on Saturday, April 19, 2014 at the age of 91 years.

 Hans was predeceased by his parents Gustav and Jorgine Skretting; two sisters and their spouses Mary
(Harry) Key and Judith (Peter) Braun; his brothers Torsten, Gust, Gudmund, Arnold, Jimmy and Sven
Skretting. He was also predeceased by his nieces and nephews Selmar Skretting, Allyson Skretting,
Jennifer Peters, Greg Braun and Robert Ostafichuk.
 Hans was born in Varhaug, Norway on June 17, 1922. Along with his family, he immigrated to Canada in
1928. He attended school at Kinnondale and Adler, located north east of Lomond. Hans, along with his
brother Torsten, took over the homestead in Circle Hill, north west of Vauxhall, after their parents
passing. Hans will be sadly missed by his family and friends.  
 If friends so desire, memorial tributes in Hans’ name may be made directly to the charity of one’s
personal choosing.
