Mrs. Dorothy Gann of Lethbridge, beloved wife of Mr. Joseph L Gann, passed away in the Chinook Regional Hospital in Lethbridge, on Thursday, May 15, 2014 at the age of 79 years.
Dorothy is survived by her daughter Christine (Will) Martin of Lethbridge, Alex R. (Clara) Gann of Whitecourt, AB, Joe (Ginny) Gann of Calgary, AB and Les (Carol) Gann of Hawksbury, ON; 4 grandchildren; 3 great-grandchildren as well as numerous nieces, nephews and friends.
Family and friends are invited to pay their final respects on Tuesday May 20, 2014 from 7:00 pm – 9:00 pm at the MARTIN BROTHERS RIVERVIEW CHAPEL, 610-4 Street South, Lethbridge.
A Funeral Service will be held in St. Catharines, Ontario.

Mr. Ernie Szucs of Lethbridge, beloved husband of the late Mrs. Elsie Szucs passed away peacefully with his children by his side at the St. Michael’s Health Centre on Friday, May 16, 2014 at the age of 80 years.
Born on August 11, 1933 in Bosarkany, Hungary, Ernie immigrated to Canada in 1956. He worked for the CPR from 1957 until his retirement in 1993. Ernie enjoyed fishing with his wife, gardening, and numerous trips to Hawaii, Hungary and Radium Hot Springs with his wife Elsie. Ernie was a member of the Hungarian Canadian Old Timers Society, whose functions he always thoroughly enjoyed.
Besides his loving wife Elsie, Ernie is predeceased by his father Endre, mother Erma and stepmother Erzébet. Ernie is survived by his step daughter Cynthia (Jay) Harris of Lethbridge, AB, step son Richard (Wendy) Parascak of Lethbridge, AB; grandchildren Scott (Ronda) Harris of Green Bay, Wisconsin, Cam (Angie) Harris of Coaldale, AB; brother Endre (Ibolya) of Hungary; step brothers Leslie of Hungary and John of Austria, as well as a niece and nephew and their families in Hungary and good friend Julia Bethlehem of Lethbridge.
A Memorial Service will be held at 1:00 pm on Friday, May 23, 2014 at MARTIN BROTHERS RIVERVIEW CHAPEL, 610-4th Street South, Lethbridge, with Deacon Frank Peta, officiating. Inurnment will follow in the St. Patrick’s Cemetery.

Born July 16th, 1916 in St. Anastasie, Quebec, died just short of her 98th birthday at Cedar Creek Adapt-a-care. Juliette was the fifth of the twelve children of Modeste & Gracia Demers. She was predeceased by her husband Michael in 1994. The last two years were difficult ones but she bore her circumstance with grace, dignity and courage. Left to celebrate her long life and indomitable spirit, daughters Dianne, Beverley and son in law John, her much loved siblings Ferne, Terry, Estelle, and Sylvain, numerous nieces and nephews including in Lethbridge, her special “double nieces” Jean and Frances, nephews Mel and wife Liz and their family, special friends Corrido and Marilyn, Doreen and Pete (super neighbors) and in Qualicum Beach best friend of seventy years plus, Audrey.
A very special thank you to Sharon and each and every staff member of Cedar Creek Adapt-a-care for superlative care for all of us during the final weeks. Mom was all about people and even after outliving so many of her family, in laws, and friends, there are still many of us who will miss her so very much.
Vigil Rites were held at 7:00pm on Friday, May 16, 2014 MARTIN BROTHERS RIVERVIEW CHAPEL, 610-4 Street South, Lethbridge, with Deacon Frank Peta, officiating.

MOFFATT
HELEN LENA MOFFATT (PASKAL) of Lethbridge passed away peacefully on May 14, 2014 at the age of 93 years.
She is the loving mother of Donald Moffatt, Patricia (Harry) Kirkland and Karen Macdonald (Peter Jenkins), grandmother of Matthew Kirkland (Jenna Van Keimpema), Shannon Macdonald, Claire Kirkland (Jay Vitt) and Barry Macdonald and great grandmother of Dominic Vitt. She is also survived by her sister Sophie (Jim)Hamilton, sisters-in-law Mavis Burton and Alice Paskal as well as many extended family and friends.
She was predeceased by her husband Eric, son John, brother Mike Paskal, and sisters Rhona Postoloski, Anne Tarasoff, and Kay Valgardson.
Helen was born and raised on the family farm near Turin, Alberta where she went to school. She moved to Lethbridge in 1939, working at the Furrier and Logan Garments until her marriage to J. Eric Moffatt on August 7, 1946. Helen and Eric raised their four children in Lethbridge.
In addition to supporting her children’s activities, Helen was active with Henderson Lake Golf Club, Lethbridge Curling Club and the 702 Wing of the RCAF Association for many years. Joining the staff of Sears Canada in 1970 she worked part time for 20 years in the drapery department and enjoyed attending annual retiree luncheons with friends and former coworkers. Helen loved travelling with Eric to Hawaii each winter, and later with her siblings and friends to many parts of the world. Ever family focused, Helen was thrilled with being a grandmother and great grandmother treasuring with pride the special events in her families’ lives.
Funeral Services will be held on Wednesday, May 21, 2014 at 2:00 p.m. at CHRISTENSEN SALMON GENERATIONS FUNERAL HOME, 703 – 13 Street North, Lethbridge. Interment to follow in the Mountain View Cemetery.

Shirley May Wennes, beloved Partner and Friend of Mel Baxter passed away suddenly May 12, 2014
She will be sorely missed by Mel, her Daughters’, Sister, Grandchildren, and Family. Shirley was born in Lethbridge May 9, 1947. She was predeaced by her Mother, Leona Hunt and her Father Aksel Wennes.
Shirley started her career at the Eaton’s Fabric counter in Lethbridge. She stayed home and raised kids for a few years, and then returned to work with the Carpenters Union Office. Eventually she gave up that job to move to Crowsnest Pass and found a job with Price and Partners as an accounting Tech. Eventually this job brought her to Pincher Creek, where she resided for the remainder of her life.
Shirley became active in the community of Pincher Creek volunteering her time with 4-H and other volunteer societies. She was very proud of teaching the young 4-H community how to cook. Shirley was a kitchen genius, and all those who were invited into her kitchen, never went away hungry.
Shirley had great respect and love for all the people in her life. She will be missed by all those she touched.
A family service will be held at a later date
