ELMER ALEXANDER LEHMAN
1920 – 2014
Elmer Lehman of Medicine Hat, beloved husband of Hertha Lehman, passed away peacefully surrounded by his family on Monday, May 26, 2014, at the age of 94 years, after a brief illness. He also leaves to cherish his memory two sons and two daughters: Sherwin (Linda), Sheryl (Bob) Bartlett of Lethbridge, Lorne (Wendy) and Lana (Michael) Nikiel: six grandchildren and two step-grandchildren: Keith (Cary) Lehman, Kelly (Carrie) Lehman, Scott Bartlett, Amber (Keith) Bates, Melissa (Dane) Skow, Sheleen (Cory) Grubert, Michael (Kara) Moore and Jason (Leanne) Leismeister; eleven great grandchildren; 2 step-great grandchildren; one sister, Ann Potratz, as well as numerous nieces, nephews and friends. He was predeceased by his parents, Henry and Magdalena Lehman; three sisters, Helen (in infancy), Elsie and Alice; his daughter-in-law, Carolanne; nine brothers-in-law and five sisters-in-law. Elmer was born on April l, 1920 in Kuest, Saskatchewan, and was raised and educated in the Surprise District. In early 1942, he completed basic training with the Canadian Army in Regina and Moose Jaw. Later that same year, on June 28, he married Hertha Knodel on the Knodel family homestead near Schuler. They took over the Lehman family farm in 1943 and remained there until they moved their family to Medicine Hat in 1961. Elmer then worked at the Imperial Oil Bulk Station and at Gershaw Esso until his retirement. At that time he enjoyed playing senior slowpitch, playing music for seniors, volunteering and other activities at the Veiner Center and taking special pride in his home and yard. Family and friends who wish to pay their respects may do so at the PATTISON FUNERAL HOME on Sunday, from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. and on Monday from 12:00 – 12:55 p.m. The funeral service will be held in the PATTISON CHAPEL on Monday, June 2, 2014 at 1:00 p.m. with Rev. Larry Enslen officiating. Internment will follow in the Hillside Cemetery. AMANDA LEANNE MAYER passed away suddenly at the Chinook Regional Hospital with family by her side on May 24, 2014. She was 30 years old.

VERNA WORTHINGTON was born on the Ross Ranch at Redstone, BC on September 6, 1948 to Eddie and Jenny Ross. She passed into the arms of her Heavenly Father May 28, 2014 at the Coaldale Long Term Centre after battling liver disease for a number of years.
A celebration service of Verna’s life will be held at the Enchant Community Centre on Monday, June 2, 2014 at 1:00 p.m.
