It is with great sadness that we announce the sudden passing of Dave on Thursday evening in Canmore, AB. Dave is survived by his wife Renée and his children Geoffrey and Kirsten. He is also survived by his parents Milford and Annette, brothers Lindsay, (sons Braden and Stefan), and Alan (Fred).
Dave was born in Outlook, Saskatchewan and later moved with his family to Lethbridge for high school and university. He worked in Taber for many years before moving to Canmore, with his wife and young family in 2002, to become editor of the Canmore Leader newspaper. He also worked at the Stoney Nakoda Casino and the Husky at Deadmans Flats. He thoroughly enjoyed his recent work at the Bow Valley Crag & Canyon newspaper as a freelance reporter because he loved meeting and talking with people.
A memorial service celebrating Daves life will be held at 11:30 a.m. Monday, June 30, 2014 at St.
Michaels Anglican Church Hall, 709 – 7 Street, Canmore.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to a memorial fund created for Daves children at the Canmore Scotiabank (Renee Husdal in trust for Geoffrey and Kirsten), or a charity of your choice.

MELVIN ANDRES
1932 ~ 2014
Mr. Melvin Andres of Lethbridge, beloved husband of Sylvia Andres, unexpectedly passed away at sunrise on Tuesday, June 24, 2014 at the age of 81 years. He was born on November 3, 1932 in Coaldale, AB to the late Jacob and Helene Andres, where he was raised on a farm west of Coaldale.
Mel is lovingly remembered by his wife of 54 years, Sylvia. He also leaves behind his son Craig (Cheryl); daughters Melanie (Edward) Vegter, Leslee (Mike) Canadine; and grandchildren Brett, Cameron and Madison Andres, Kaitee, Scott and Eric Vegter, Jane and Quinn Canadine; brother Jake (Verdell); sisters, Johanna Dyck and Anne (Kerm) Daum; sisters-in-law Frances Pollock, Anne Harder and brother-in-law Richard (Marilyn) Neufeld. Melvin was predeceased by his brother, Eric Harder and brothers-in-law David Dyck and Sid Pollock.
For Mel, life centered around his family, friends and business. He was incredibly proud of his children and grandchildren; their accomplishments, and adventures.
He enjoyed a long and rewarding career in business, beginning with Andres Transport in 1957, with his
brother, Jake. They sold in 1978 to start Andres Trailer Sales and Rentals. He then retired in 1993, at which time he enjoyed spending time in the Palm Springs area.
We will always treasure Mel’s love for adventure , for a job well done and especially for life.

Sister Mary Roselina McMahon
McMAHON, Sister Mary Roselina, 97, a Sister of St. Martha of Antigonish, died at Bethany, the motherhouse, on Sunday, June 22, 2014. She was in the 73rd year of religious life.
Born in Dominion, NS, she was the daughter of the late Peter and Winnifred
(McMurray) McMahon and was the second youngest of eleven children. Sister Roselina entered the Congregation of the Sisters of St. Martha in 1939. In 1941 she pronounced her first vows, and made her perpetual commitment August 15, 1944. After graduating in 1946 with certification as an X-Ray Technician, Sister Roselina worked as an X-Ray Technician and in Management for forty years. She served in Nova Scotia at St. Martha¹s Hospital, Antigonish, St. Joseph Hospital, Glace Bay, and at St. Mary¹s Hospital, Inverness; in Alberta at St. Michael¹s Hospital, Lethbridge and at Mineral Springs Hospital, Banff. Roselina was a member of the Canadian Society of Radiological Technicians since 1948, and in 1970 she was granted Advanced Certification. In 1966, she was certified as a Hospital Departmental Manager with a specialty in Diagnostic Radiography. She retired from X-Ray in 1983.
For the next eight years, Sister Roselina was in the Pastoral Care Departments of St. Martha¹s Hospital, Antigonish, and the New Waterford Consolidated Hospital. She served as Coordinator at Bethany, the Motherhouse, for six years, and as the Local Community Leader in two of the houses in which she lived.
Sister Roselina was a woman of exemplary service throughout her long and fruitful life.
Sister Roselina was the last surviving member of her immediate family and was predeceased by six sisters: Frances MacIsaac, Helen Whalen, Margaret MacNeil, Sister Mary Beatrice, a Sister of St. Martha, and Sisters Mary Peter and Agnes Winifred, both Sisters of Charity of Halifax; and by three
brothers: Thomas, James, William and Peter. Left to mourn her loss are several dearly loved nieces and nephews.
The remains are resting at Bethany, the motherhouse beginning at 1:15 pm on Wednesday, June 25, 2014. A Celebration of Vigil will be held on the same evening at 7:30. Liturgy of Christian Burial will take place on Thursday, June 26, at 2:00 pm in the Bethany Chapel.

Antigonish. Sister Mary Roselina McMahon, baptized Agnes, was born May 29, 1917, in Dominion, Nova Scotia. Her father, Peter, was born in Colborne, Scotland, and her mother, Winifred
(McMurray) McMahon, was born in Lesmehagow, Scotland. Both lived in
Dominion, Nova Scotia.
