James “Jim” Robert Wilton, beloved husband of Carol Wilton of Medicine Hat, passed away on Thursday, September 11th, 2014 at the age of 71 years. Jim also leaves to cherish his memory his two sons, Dan (Ketha) and Robert (Lori) and their families. The Funeral Mass will be celebrated at HOLY FAMILY PARISH, 1451 Strachan Road SE, on Thursday, September 18th, 2014 at 1:00 p.m. with Father Philip Le, celebrant. Interment will follow at Hillside Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts in Jim’s memory may be made to the Palliative Care Ward, Medicine Hat Regional Hospital. Dealia “Del” Wallace passed away peacefully on Friday, Sept 12, 2014 at St. Michaels Health Center with her daughters by her side. Del is survived by her children Shelley (Gord) Glass of Calgary, Dale Rhodes of Vancouver, Sandy (Mike) Ballman of Lethbridge and Kim (Jeff) Coolidge of Lethbridge. Del also has 6 grandchildren and 1 great-grandchild. She is also survived by a sister Ruby Peters of Calgary.
Del was pre-deceased by her parents Avery and Susannah, brother Richard “Dick” Wallace and sister Bernice “Bernie” Wheeler. The family would like to thank Dr. Erwin Li, Geriatric Specialist as well as the doctors at Lethbridge Family Medical Clinic. A very special thanks go out to all the wonderful staff at St. Michaels who we will never forget; they were so kind to our Mom this last 11 years. BERRY WILLIAM GORHAM, passed away in Spring Coulee, Alberta on September 11th, 2014 at the age of 54 years. He is survived by his wife B.J., and his children Zachery & Ali. Berry is also survived by his mother, Hazel; siblings, Bruce (Peggy) Gorham, Barbara (Duncan) Thompson, and Sharon (Barry) Anderson. He is predeceased by his father Robert Gorham. Berry was born August 23, 1960 in Magrath, Alberta. He married Betty Jean (B.J.) Anderson from Barnwell in 1989 at the Seattle Washington Temple.
Berry received his schooling in Magrath after which he served a mission in California for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. Upon returning home from his mission, he moved to Spring Coulee where he resided until his passing. When Berry moved to Spring Coulee in 1983 he purchased ³Berry¹s Country Store² which he managed for nearly 20 years. He also drove the school bus in the Spring Coulee area for the Westwind School Division. In 1996, Berry made a career change and became a funeral director and embalmer. Later in 2006, he was an intregral part of forming Legacy Funeral Home in Cardston, AB. He was very passionate about funeral service. He found great satisfaction serving families in the loss of their loved ones and grew very close to the families he served. Berry was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and served faithfully in the Spring Coulee Branch of the Church. He loved God, his family and was devoted to service in his community. Berry had a love for beautiful flowers, landscaping, chickens, and patriotic flags. He had a way of making people feel loved and his motto was ³be kind to everyone you come in contact with.² His greatest love was his wife B.J. and his children Zach and Ali. He will be deeply, deeply missed. Friends may meet the family at Legacy Funeral Home, Cardston (107- 6th Street West) on Monday, September 15th, 2014 from 7:00 to 8:00 p.m. or at the Church from 9:45 to 10:45 a.m. prior to the Service. Robert James Snowden of Lethbridge, beloved husband and best friend of Jo Snowden, passed away at home after a short but courageous battle with cancer on September 11, 2014 at the age of 71 years.
Bob was born in Lethbridge on August 2, 1943 to Rowland and Marjorie Snowden. He started working for Motor Car Supply while still attending high school, which started his life-long career in the automotive wholesale business. He worked a few years at R & J Partsman Automotive until they joined with Custom Engine & Parts where he worked until his retirement. Six years after retirement, he returned to work at Micro Paint & Dent Repair for four years, until his second retirement. He loved fishing, wood working, sports, yard work and “puttering around” in his garage. He had been a member of Henderson Lake Golf Course for over 40 years and a member of Lethbridge Lodge No. 2 for over 50 years. Bob will be lovingly remembered and deeply missed by his wife Jo, his son Brad, and his daughter Shelly (Darcy) Flexhaug; by his grandchildren Carter Snowden and Teagan Flexhaug; and by his sister Dorothy (Mel) Bertsch; as well as numerous nieces and nephews and their families. Bob was predeceased by his parents and his brother George Snowden. Kay Robertson passed away peacefully on Sunday, September 7, 2014 at the age of 95.
Born in Surrey, England on February 23, 1919, Kay met and married Leonard Robertson of Hazlet, SK, while he was stationed in England during the war in 1943. Kay immigrated with her son David in 1945 as a war bride to begin her new life in Saskatchewan. In 1950 Leonard moved the family to Milk River, AB where he worked at the local grain elevator and Kay started working at Archie’s General Store. The family moved to Calgary in 1963 where they would remain. In 1966 Kay began her career with CO-OP and would retire in 1984. Kay filled her retirement with her many passions, War Bride Reunions, CO-OP ladies lunches, gardening and church gatherings. She was a regular at the Royal Canadian #1 Legion where she has been a member for over twenty years. Where ever Kay went she embraced life, her spirit was infectious. She was able to make anyone laugh even through hard times. Kay will be sadly missed by all who knew her but especially her surviving family; her sons, David (Ruth) Robertson of Milk River, AB; Paul (Lynne) Robertson of Victoria, BC; and special friend Dawn (Keith) Thompson of Calgary, AB; grandchildren, Brad (Connie) Robertson of Milk River, Scott (Lisa) Robertson of Camrose, AB, Stacey Robertson (Jaret Sprott) of Calgary, AB, Chantelle Weedmark of Airdrie, AB, Christina Deen of Victoria, BC; Matthew Thompson (Patrick Moskwa) of Calgary, AB, and Daniel (Nicole) Thompson of Calgary, AB; great-grandchildren, Deagan, Garren & Torra Robertson of Milk River, AB, Denton & Shaye Robertson of Camrose, AB and Owen Thompson of Calgary, AB.
