Norma Anne Cleland, beloved wife of the late Walter Cleland, passed away in Lethbridge on Friday, October 3, 2014 at the age of 86 years. The Funeral Service will be held at St. Andrew’s United Church, 139 – 2 Avenue West, Bow Island on Tuesday, October 14, 2014 at 1:00 P.M. with Pastor Sheila McLeod officiating. Laurel Lee Kalvi
1956 – 2014
Laurel Lee Kalvi (nee Knibbs), passed away peacefully in Lethbridge, surrounded by her family on Thursday, October 9, 2014 at the age of 58 years following a courageous two and a half year battle with cancer. Laurel Lee is the beloved wife of Joseph and mother of LeAnna Lee; daughter of Sylvia (nee Haynes) and the late Gerald H Knibbs and sister to the late Charlene, Carol Lee and Cheryl Lee (Matt). Laurel Lee was raised with her sisters on a farm east of Grassy Lake but was a city girl at heart. In 1974, she moved to Taber where she discovered her love for accounting and for Joe. After marrying in 1977, they moved to Lethbridge and built their dream home and life together. In 1991, they were blessed with a daughter. The birth of LeAnna brought her immense joy and added lots of new opportunities and experiences to her life. Laurel Lee was most recently employed at TD Canada Trust. Her spirit will live forever in the hearts of her family. A celebration of Laurel Lee¹s life will be held at the Italian Canadian Club, 1511 St. Edwards Boulevard North, Lethbridge on Wednesday, October 15, 2014 at 12:00 P.M. On Thursday morning, October 9, 2014, MAXINE DUDLEY BRIDGE passed away peacefully, surrounded by her family, at the Raymond Hospital. Maxine is survived by Jack, her loving husband of 65 years, their eight children: Grayden (Claudia); John (Bonnie); Kaye (Phil) Merrill; Alan (Colleen); Dianne (Dave) Jardine; Barbara (Ron) Fromm; Bob (Julie); Becky (Marc) Rompain; their 39 grandchildren; and 59 great grandchildren; her sister Mary Tanner; her brother Dennis Dudley; and her brother Alan (Patricia) Dudley. She was predeceased by her parents Wallace and Mary Dudley, her sister Phyllis Kaye Dudley, her grandsons Paul Bridge and Locke Arrington, and her granddaughter Kaitlyn Bridge. Maxine was born on April 21, 1926 in Magrath, Alberta. She was the third daughter of five children. Her young life was spent on the farm in Magrath where she was blessed to develop the solid foundation for a life of service to her family, friends, neighbors and church, as evidenced by her wide circle of friends. Maxine¹s and Jack¹s lives have been blessed by their membership in The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. The highlight of their church service was a mission that they served in the Seoul Korea Temple in 1995. No tribute could be more eloquent than the overwhelming love and respect which we as a family have for our Mother. We are very grateful for the exceptional care Mom received from the Staff at Prairie Ridge Lodge and the Raymond Hospital. The Funeral Service will be held on Saturday, October 11, 2014 at 11:00 a.m. at The Church of Jesus of Latter-day Saints, TAYLOR STREET CHAPEL, 221 North, 400 West, Raymond, with Bishop Craig Palmer officiating. 1916 ~ 2014
Mr. Evan Gushul of Lethbridge, passed away peacefully at Edith Cavell on October 7, 2014 at the age of 98 years. Evan was born July 28, 1916 to parents Thomas and Lena Gushul in Coleman, AB. During his life, his two main passions were photography and music. As a photographer, he worked for the Government of Canada Research Station in Lethbridge. As a musician, he was one of the founding members of the Lethbridge Symphony, where he played violin and viola for some 14 years. Evan is survived by two step sons, Wallace & David, and their families, which include six grandchildren; nine great grandchildren; as well as three nephews and one niece.
He was predeceased by his wife Hazel, his parents, and his three sisters; Nadia, Paraska and Polly. To all that knew him, he was a kind and generous man. We know he will be playing his violin in Heaven, or taking pictures of the fall colours or next sunset. It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of ROBERT “BOB” HUESKEN, of Edmonton, passed away at the Edmonton General Hospital on Friday, October 10, 2014 at the age of 62 years, after a brave and courageous battle with cancer. Bob was a hard working man throughout his whole life, but at the end of the day he was a husband, father, and grandfather, his top priority was his family.
Nothing brought Bob more joy than his three grandchildren and his dog Yogi. In recent months, he got to enjoy all their company daily — laughing, teasing, and cuddling. Bob is survived by his wife Florence, daughter Diana (Matt) Fenwick, son Adam (Laura), and grandchildren Cam, Josh, and Abby. He was predeceased by his parents Herman and Minnie. He will be missed dearly. With deep sorrow we announce the passing of Larry, aged 66, of Fort Saskatchewan, AB on Tuesday, 07 October 2014. He is survived by his wife, Jane, his sons, Stephen (Lacey) , Warren , Josh (Tessa) and Brent (Stacey); daughters Penny and Krystal (Kelly), and 8 grandchildren. Also surviving are his mother, Kathleen Bouck-Otto of Winnipeg; brothers, Jim (Donna) of Lethbridge, and Dan (Lucille) of Magrath; and sister, Joan (Albert) Patenaude of Winnipeg, as well as several nieces and nephews and their families. He was predeceased by his father, Lyle Bouck. Larry was born and raised in Lethbridge and attended LCI. He has resided in Fort Saskatchewan and the Edmonton area for many years. It is with deep sadness to announce that Mrs. Marjorie Miller of Lethbridge, beloved wife of the late Mr. Frank Miller, passed away on October 8, 2014 at the age of 91 years. Marjorie was born to Hoarse & Ethel Gentleman on February 14, 1923 in Pathlow, Saskatchewan. She later moved to Lethbridge and married Frank Edwin Miller on March 30, 1946. Her greatest joy in life was raising her five children. Along with caring for her family, she enjoyed quilting, knitting, bowling, and she loved her cats. Marjorie is survived by her three sons Edwin, Larry & Don; daughter Shirley; three grandchildren Kelly, Randi, and Kadi. A Graveside Service will be held at 2:00pm on Wednesday, October 15, 2014 at MOUNTAIN VIEW CEMETERY, Lethbridge, AB with Canon Alan McCuaig, officiating.
