1945 ~ 2014
Mrs. Anna Neufeld of Coaldale, beloved wife of Mr. Abraham Neufeld, passed away peacefully at the Chinook Regional Hospital on Tuesday, December 30, 2014 at the age of 69 years. Besides her loving husband Abraham, Anna is survived by her two daughters Annie Procunier and Trudy Hildebrand; son Willy Neufeld; grandchildren Crystal, Marlena, Vanessa, Andrew, Jesse, Austin, Samantha and Bradley; father Peter Friesen; sisters Helen, Tina and Sarah; brothers Abe, Aaron, John, Cornie, Jake, Henry, and Dave; as well as numerous nieces, nephews and their families. She was predeceased by her mother Anna Friesen and brothers Nick and Peter. A Funeral Service will be held at 1:00 pm, on Saturday, January 3, 2015 at WESTMINSTER CHAPEL, 329 – 19 Street North, Lethbridge, with Pastor Ian Crooks, officiating. Interment to follow in the Mountain View Cemetery.

Irene Clark was called home to the Lord December 30, 2014 after a wonderful 92 years. She passed away at the Chinook Regional Hospital in Lethbridge, Alberta after a short hospital stay. JOYCE DEANNA (Baby Joyce) DAY RIDER passed away in Cardston on December 23, 2014. She was born on November 30, 1970 to Agnes Day Rider & Wilfred (Ike) Chief Moon along with her twin Janice Day Rider who was born first. Joyce is survived by her beloved husband of 28 years, Michael Mountain Horse; 4 children – Tabitha, Renae (Blake), Miley, Aliyah; grandson Cachis; brothers Wilfred and Brian Day Rider; sisters Carol (Bruce), Cindy (Wesley, twin Janice (Frank), Patty Crying Head; uncle Gilbert Day Rider; aunts Bertha and Virginia Chief Moon; great uncles John, Ed (Elaine), Jordan (Rosette), Daniel (Priscilla), Keith (Karen) Chief Moon, Raymond (Hazel) Black Plume; great aunties Janette Bear and Lucy Black Plume; numerous nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her maternal grandparents Irene & Albert Day Rider; great grandparents Bob & Suzette Black Plume; paternal grandparents Dan & Philomena Chief Moon. Joyce was raised in the Levern area with her many cousins from the Black Plume¹s and Chief Moon relatives. She attended school at the Levern Elementary School, St. Mary¹s and Red Crow College. She later worked at the Bay Shore Inn in Waterton Lakes Park and for the Chateau Isabella southwest of Cardston. A Wake Service will be held at the Moses Lake Community Hall, Blood Reserve on Sunday, January 4th from 7:00 to 11:00 p.m. The Funeral Service will be held at the Moses Lake Community Hall, Blood Reserve on Monday, January 5th at 11:00 a.m. Interment in the Pioneer Cemetery, Blood Reserve. DONALD ELWOOD BEHRENS,
82, passed away December 31, 2014 at Chinook Hospital in Lethbridge, AB. He was born on February 24, 1932 in Pierre, SD, USA to parents Frederick and Dessie Behrens. He married Joyce Lou Ann Christenson on September 2, 1955, Riverfalls, WI, USA. He is survived by his six children, Fred (Louisa) Behrens, Jodi (James Jacquez) Behrens, Frank (Jackqueline) Behrens, Janice (Bill Pollett) Behrens, Terry Behrens, and Traci (Bob) Frank. Twelve grandchildren: Caleb, Stephanie, Daniel, Shayla, Tess, Derek, Dylan, Tahnee, Jessie, Emma, Mahogany, and Maggie and six great grandchildren. He is predeceased by his parents Frederick and Dessie Behrens, and siblings, Wendell Behrens, Bonnie (Harry) Shaw and Kenneth Behrens. He passed away with his wife Joyce of 59 years, family and beloved friend Reverend Larry Hankinson were at his bedside. DUMKA, MARY ELAINE
June 5, 1917 to December 29, 2014
Mary passed away peacefully on December 29, 2014 at Coaldale, Alberta at the age of 97 years.
Mary was born on the family homestead near Cluny, Alberta, the only child of Irene and Hubert Tabor. In 1939 she attended the Calgary Normal School and obtained her teaching certificate. After teaching several years she married Neal Dumka in 1944. As an only child she often said she would like a big family. They resided in Lethbridge, Arrowwood and Milo area before moving to Vulcan in 1953 where she taught elementary school for many years. She was very active with ACW, Royal Purple, the Auxiliary Legion and Pioneer Acres. After retiring from teaching in 1979 she lived in Standard, Strathmore, Lethbridge, and Coaldale. She is survived by her 6 children: Carolyn (Dennis) Burke of Coaldale, Linda (Willard) Peterson of Kelowna, Don (Willa) Dumka of Calgary, Marilyn of Calgary, Bob (Barb) Dumka of Vulcan and Deb (Craig) Kushner of Calgary, 14 grandchildren and 18 great -grandchildren. She was predeceased by her parents Hubert and Irene Tabor of Vulcan, 2 grandchildren (Mark and Katherine), and by her husbands Neal Dumka, Sigfred Selgensen and George Risdon. Mary loved people and visiting with her family and friends gave her so much pleasure. She always said, “expect the best from people and you will get it” and she truly lived her life that way. We will miss her so. At Mary’s request there will be no service — a family gathering will take place in the spring. FARREL CLAYTON “CORK” KENNARD age 79 of Cardston, AB, passed away peacefully with his family by his side on December 29, 2014. Clayton was born November 1, 1935 to Nelson ³Fredrick² Kennard and Rosetta ³Rose² Leavitt Kennard in Cardston AB. After the passing of his father in 1938, a very special addition to his family was added. Adeline Beck became his second mother as his mom needed to support her little family. Dad grew up and attended school in Cardston. He went on to further his education at Utah State Agricultural College in Logan, Utah. Dad married his sweetheart and our mother, Myrtle ³ Myrt² Joyce Wescott on his birthday, November 1, 1955. Together they had 4 children and 7 grandchildren. All his pride and joy! Dad was a hard working man, he farmed, ranched, worked for Western Geophysical, ran his own Hunting and Fishing Guide Service and put in many years as Weed Inspector with the Cardston County, retiring in 2005. Dad was a avid hunter and fisherman. In his later years he took up a new hobby of Pocket Watch collecting. Clayton was predeceased by his mother Rose in 2006, his loving wife, Myrt on May 11, 2012 and son in law Rick Prince November 25, 2013.
Clayton leaves behind to continue his legacy. Valarie (Rick )Prince – children Kari and Cody. Randy Kennard (Linda Ringwald). Alan (Roanna) Kennard – children Kristyn and Cara. Greg (Melanie) Kennard – children Aaron, Amanda, Alec and his very special second mother Adeline Beck. Funeral Services will be held Monday January 5, 2015 at LEGACY FUNERAL HOME. Dad was born in Bellevue, Alberta and raised in Pincher Creek. Over the years he was a rancher, coalminer, police officer, business owner (Westwind Taxi), husband, son and grandfather. On April 10, 1943 he married Edna Mary Lewis. John is survived by two sons Barry (Sophie) Carney of Cowley and Dennis (Ann) Carney of Red Deer as well as 6 grandchildren, 7 great grandchildren and 1 great great grandchild. Dad was predeceased by Edna, his parents James and Mary (Petiot) Carney, Harold and Ivy (Goodwin) Lewis and a daughter-in-law Angela (Bruder) Carney. Since 2011, dad has resided at Vista Village under the care of the many special care givers and Lovi Scott and her extensive team with AHS.
A memorial service will be held at 4:00 P.M. on Friday January 8, 2015 at the COWLEY COMMUNITY HALL, Cowley; Alberta. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Vista Village Residence Fund, Box 1510, Pincher Creek, AB.

Bob (Robert) James Lyons, 72, of Pincher Creek, AB, passed away December 30th, 2014, after a long battle with cancer. He is survived by his wife Karen, daughter Holly and son Clint (Nisa). He is also survived by four grandchildren Taylor, Cassidy, Delaney and Brody, sister-in-law Judy and many nephews and nieces. Bob worked as Pincher Creek’s District Agriculturalist until his retirement, and then enjoyed his second career as a beekeeper, for which he won many international awards. His greatest joy in life was traveling with Karen and pulling a fifth wheel, visiting his grandchildren and many friends, and relaxing in the desert sunshine. He will be greatly missed.
