ANDERSON
KATHLEEN “Kay” MATKIN ANDERSON, beloved wife of the late Harold Anderson, passed away in Milk River on Saturday, January 24, 2015 at the age of 94 years. The Funeral Service will be held on Saturday, January 31, 2015 at 11:00 a.m. at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, COUTTS CHAPEL, with Bishop Nathan Kyler officiating. Friends may meet the family prior to the service from 9:45 to 10:45 a.m. Interment to follow in the Milk River Cemetery.

BROWN
July 16, 1944 – January 26, 2015
ROY DOUGLAS BROWN, beloved husband of Dolores “Dee” Brown, of Milk River, AB, passed away at the Milk River Health Centre on Monday, January 26, 2015 at the age of 70 years. Besides his loving wife, he is survived by daughters Rena (Kevin) Russell, Leah (Barry) Pavcik, granddaughters Joelle, Dana and Zuzana. He is also survived by his siblings, David (Rose) Brown of Spirit River, AB, Lloyd (Jane) Brown of Bonnyville, AB, Alice (Eric) Weir of Edmonton, Betty (Duane) Brown of Innisfail as well as numerous nieces and nephews. Roy was predeceased by his parents Ted and Alice Brown and grandson Cody Russell. A Celebration of Life will be held at the MILK RIVER CIVIC CENTRE, 321 – 3rd Avenue N.E, Milk River, on Thursday, January 29, 2015 at 2:00 P.M. with Reverend Marion Martin officiating. Interment to take place following the Celebration of Life in the Milk River Cemetery.

On January 26, 2015, Sharp Adze, Joseph Edward Ksisk sta kii pooka (Beaver Child) was called home by the Creator at the Fort Macleod Extended Care Centre at the age of 65 years. A two-day wake will take place at the Snodgrass Funeral Home (1101 Main Street) in Pincher Creek on Wednesday, January 28, from 5:00 pm to 10:00 pm and on Thursday, January 29, from 5:00 pm to 10:00 pm. The Funeral Mass will be held at 1:00 pm at St. Paul¹s Catholic Church on Friday, January 30, 2015, with Fr. Silvano Vargas as Celebrant. The interment will take place at the Brocket Cemetery followed by a reception at the St. Paul¹s Church Hall. KENNETH ROBINSON
1925 ~ 2015
Mr. Kenneth Vincent Robinson, beloved husband of Margaret of Del Bonita (Magrath), AB, passed away peacefully on January 25, 2015 at the young age of 89 years. He was the father to 7 children, Louise Nielsen, Patricia Orich, Ruth Turner, Pamela Hansen, Emily Beier, and James Robinson. He was grandfather to 14 grandchildren, and 22 great- grandchildren. Kenneth is survived by his sisters Ethel and Nada. He was predeceased by his parents, Annie and Albert, daughter Helen Joyce, grandson Gary, siblings Florence, Doris, May, Vera, Victor and Albert. MARIAN PESZAT
1914 ~ 2015
Marian Peszat, beloved wife of the late Mr. Stan Peszat, passed away on January 25, 2015 at the wonderful age of 100 years. She was a wonderful wife, mother and business partner. She took immense pride in her children, offering guidance and encouragement to them throughout their lives. The many associations she made through Stan¹s Men¹s Wear were remembered with fondness, friendship, and humor. She was a great listener, a willing volunteer, and wise counselor. Her elegance, loving smile, graciousness, and generosity were treasured by all who knew her. Her petit point and needlework artistry were her passion, which she shared with family and friends. She was never idle, always accomplishing something with incredible zest and determination. Our family is grateful to her many friends, and especially the staff of St. Therese Villa and the Covenant Health Group who took Marian into their hearts. Their care and kindness is forever appreciated. She will lovingly be missed by her children Stanley (Carole), Patricia (Robert), daughter-in-law Sheila, and grandchildren Steven, Susan, Rodney, Anne, Ashley and Tera. She is also survived by her, sisters-in-law, Thelma and Eve, and many nieces and nephews, and devoted friends. Marian was preceded in death by her dear husband Stan (1974), her son Edward (2010), and her beloved daughter Maureen (2013), and four sisters and three brothers. MARY JANE JOHNSON
1928 ~ 2015
Mrs. Mary Jane Johnson of Lethbridge, (formerly of Aden), beloved wife of the late Mr. George Johnson, passed away peacefully at home on Saturday, January 17, 2015 at the age of 86 years.
She was born on February 14, 1928 in Grass Range, Montana, moved to Spring Coulee where she took her education, and then moved to Milk River in 1945. While in Milk River, she met and later married George Johnson in 1948. In 1953 they moved to Aden, and there they had 6 children, Linda, Doug, Shirley, Bill, Jean and Tom. She has resided in Lethbridge for the past five years. Mary is survived by her children Linda (Berv) Pollard of Grand Prairie, Bill (Katie Ann) Johnson of Aden, Jean (Doug) McRae of Pincher Creek, Tom (Marilyn) Johnson of Aden, sisters Annabelle Johnson of Airdrie and Barbara Anderson of Lethbridge; son-in-law Roger (Patricia) Stennes of Iddesleigh, AB; 16 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by her beloved husband George; son Doug; daughter Shirley; grandchildren Cherry and Darrell Johnson and three brothers and a sister.

ZOLTEN SABO
DECEMBER 11, 1929 ~ JANUARY 25, 2015
Zolten Sabo, beloved husband of Mona passed, away on January 25, 2015 at the age of 85 years after suffering from heart complications for the last 12 years. He is survived by his children Cindy (Jim Welsh), June Leman, Jerry Sabo (Jan Campbell); grandchildren Jodi (Derrick) Lillico (Shelby and James) Jason (Kristen) Welsh Dustan, Denver, Kendra (Joe) Leman; sisters Mary (Mike) Schneyder, Helen Heinonen, Carol Rosen, Rose (Doug) Oler; sisters-in-law Ann Sabo, LaRae (Harold) Gastola; brothers-in-law Aubrey (Deb) Fletcher, Murray (Gail) Fletcher as well as numerous nieces, nephews and their families. Zolten was predeceased by his sister Betty Heinonen, brother Ron Sabo, brothers-in-law John and Leo Heinonen, Stan Rosen, parents Julius & Elizabeth Szabo and his father and mother-in-law Warren & Hazel Fletcher. Zolten was born in Raymond on December 11, 1929 and later the family moved to a farm in Barrhill area. He went to school in Barrhill and worked on the family farm. He married Mona Fletcher on April 5, 1956. He lived in Picture Butte, working Road Construction for several years. He then apprenticed at Bells Welding. After than he worked at Canadian Sugar factory in Picture Butte for 16 years then 1 _ years in Taber when the plant closed in Picture Butte. He worked for the Lethbridge Community College for 16 years until he retired. He was a 20 year member of the Picture Butte Volunteer Fire Department. He belonged to the Elks Club, Lions Club and was a Scout Leader. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, playing golf, camping, dancing, working on old cars and many other things! He especially loved his grandchildren and great-grandchildren, he will be deeply missed.
A Memorial Service will be held at 1:00pm on Saturday, January 31, 2015 at the THE CHURCH OF JESUS CHRIST OF LATTER DAY SAINTS (Near Enmax) 2410 – 28th Street South, Lethbridge, AB with Bishop Larry Schneyden, officiating. Paul Giroux
1946 – 2015
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the unexpected passing of Paul Marcel Giroux, beloved husband of the late Bernice Giroux, passed away in Calgary, as always, surrounded by his family, on Friday, January 23, 2015 at the age of 68 years. Relatives and friends are invited to Prayers at Southland Funeral Chapel, 5006 – 48 Avenue, Taber on Wednesday, January 28, 2015 at 7:00 P.M.
The Funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Augustine¹s Catholic Church, 5009 – 48 Avenue, Taber on Thursday, January 29, 2015 at 11:00 A.M. Burial to follow at the Taber Memorial Garden. Paul is survived by his four children Paul Giroux Jr. of Calgary and his children Raechel, Travis and Sam; Steph (Darryl) Feininger of Taber and their children Jordan, Nick and Kali; Mark Giroux of Taber and Kathy Giroux (Ken Woo) of Taber and their children Paige (Dylan Wall) and Kinzie. He is also survived by his siblings Martha Giroux, Valerie (Ken) Gladue, Fred Giroux, Jean Giroux Jr., Chester Giroux, Nellie Giroux and numerous nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his wife Bernice Giroux; his parents Jean Baptiste and Louise Giroux; four brothers John Giroux, Jack Giroux, David ³Joe Bush² Giroux and Norbert Giroux; sister Linda Manuel. Paul was born in Northern Alberta on March 27, 1946. Shortly thereafter, the Giroux family moved to Picture Butte where Paul received his schooling and where he later met the love of his life, Bernice Courtoreille and they were married July 16, 1965. He attended college and studied Automotive Mechanics. He was employed at Perdue Motors in Taber for eighteen years. On June 2, 1987, Paul was given a second chance at life, receiving a heart transplant. After his recovery, he worked for the Horizon School Division as a Native Liason Councillor for more than twenty years. On February 2, 2002, Paul was the recipient of a kidney transplant. Paul was an avid golfer and you could always find him at the golf course, surrounded by his friends. He will also be remembered for his many years coaching hockey. Most important to him were his grandchildren, the light of his life. Through all of his struggles and his pain, Paul will always be remembered for his smile and his big heart.

In memory of Paul, his family ask that you take a moment to sign your donor card so that others may have a second chance at life just like Paul did on two occasions.
