PATRICIA “PAT†CHARTRAND
Sept 26, 1932 – July 16, 2015
Patricia “Pat†Chartrand passed away peacefully at Chinook Regional Hospital surrounded by the love of her family. She was born to Andrew and Hazel McLachlan on the family farm east of Coutts, AB where she was raised. She went to live with Hugh and Jo in Trail, BC during high school and then returned to Coutts where she married Clifford Larson and they raised their 5 children. Pat was very involved in sports. Over the years she enjoyed baseball, bowling, basketball, golf and even helped at the CouttsGrass Rodeo. Pat was a hard worker and held many different jobs over the years. She enjoyed managing the El Coyote Inn and made many friends there and also met her husband John. The two were married in August of 1982. They went on to manage the A1 truckstop for a time and shared their lives together for 25 years before his passing. Patricia loved working in the yard and was an incredible gardener. She took pride in her home and created a space where everyone felt welcome. She loved spending time with her family. After John’s passing, she lived with daughter Sharla, with whom she was especially close.
Patricia will be greatly missed by her family, siblings and many friends and relatives. She will be remembered for her strength, integrity, honesty, stubborn determination and sense of humor. We will miss the times spent around her table playing cards, eating, drinking and just talking for hours. Most of all we will miss her loving heart and open arms.
She is survived by her sons, Riley (Val) Larson and their children Cody and Layne; Patrick (Sarah) Larson and their children D.J., Braden, Randal and his children Jordynn and Wyatt; Barry (Janis) Larson and their children Amanda (Michael) and their daughter Huxley, Cyrene and Dylan; and her daughter Sharla (Michael) Larson.
