1927 – 2015

Mrs. Betty Doenz formerly of Warner, beloved wife of the late Mr. James “Jimmy” Doenz, passed away on Friday, August 7, 2015 at the age of 87 years.

GRAY

June 29, 1937 – August 5, 2015

Our beloved LAWRENCE “LARRY” ARTHUR GRAY of Lethbridge, Alberta, passed away at the Chinook Regional Hospital on August 5, 2015 after a lengthy struggle with cancer and COPD at the age of 78 years.

Larry is survived by his three children Roxanne (Jeff) Janecke of Lethbridge, Lorne (Deb) Gray of Calgary, and Laura (Warren) Pickett of Lethbridge. He also leaves his grandchildren: Lindsey (Robert) Bedford, Stacey and Brittany Janecke, & Eric and Ian Gray & his great grandchildren Graydon and Brynlee Janecke & Charlotte Bedford. Larry is survived by his sister Margaret Archibald, and also by a large extended family on both sides.

He was predeceased by his wife Doreen, granddaughter Sarah as well as seven brothers and four sisters.

Larry was born and raised on a farm in the Granum area, he was the youngest of 13 children. When he was 17 he joined the Navy where he learned his trade as a steam engineer. He married Doreen in 1957 and they lived in Victoria until 1959. They moved back to Lethbridge where he worked for the Lethbridge Correctional Center as a guard, Canbra Foods and The University of Lethbridge as a steam engineer.

Larry and Doreen moved to an acreage by Raymond where he continued to live until last year and then returned to Lethbridge to be closer to his children due to failing health.

Larry loved to hunt, read and load his own ammunition. He and Doreen would drive around the country for hours with their dog Lacey. Larry continued to do this even after Doreen’s passing.

Larry lived and loved life to the fullest and in his earlier days rode bulls and horses in local rodeos along with his son Lorne, parachuted with his daughter Roxanne, and went shooting with Laura.

A Funeral Service will be held at CORNERSTONE FUNERAL HOME – 2800 Mayor Magrath Drive South, Lethbridge, Alberta on Wednesday August 12, 2015 at 11:00 A.M. with Canon James Robinson officiating. Interment to follow at Mountain View Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the St. Augustine’s Renovation Fund, 411 – 11th Street South, Lethbridge, Alberta T1J 2N9.

William Herman Kelly

1938 – 2015

It is with great sadness and warm memories that the family of Bill Kelly announces his passing on August 5, 2015, at the age of 76. He is survived by his wife Inez, and children Michael (Jonnie), Joanne (Dave McGarva), Patrick (Bing), grandchildren Erin, Ben and Tim Kelly, Liam and Sian McGarva and Eva Kelly and Mandy Hong. He is also survived by his sister Mary (Joe) Schandor. Bill was predeceased by his parents, Herman and Kathleen (Gardiner) Kelly, his brother Bryant, sister Clara and infant sisters Betty Ann and Barbara Ann Kelly and more recently his sister Kathleen. Bill was born in Loggieville, New Brunswick. He attended Loggieville School and St Thomas College.

Bill followed his sweetheart, Inez to Lethbridge where she was working at St. Michael’s Hospital. They went back to Loggieville where they were married in August of 1962, after which Bill and Inez returned to Lethbridge.

In May of 1963 Bill began a long standing relationship with the Sisters of St Martha, whom he greatly admired and loved working with at St. Michael’s Hospital. He was the Director of Purchasing and later the Director of Materiel Management for many years. He always enjoyed his work and valued the people he worked with even more. He was a Charter Member of the Alberta Hospital Purchaser’s Association and was the President of the Southern Alberta Irish Society. He was member of the Knights of Columbus Council 5726. Bill spent 15 years on the Board of the Picture Butte Golf and Winter Club.

Bill was a very outgoing and social person, he was described as being a people person who cared very much for others, was generous and kind. He enjoyed golf, hockey and fast ball.

He cherished the times spent with his grandchildren, whom he loved dearly. He will be sadly missed and lovingly remembered.

Our family would like to thank everyone who was a part of Bill’s life, especially family and friends for their support. We extend a very special thank you to the doctors and health care providers, especially Dr. Wong and the staff of the Dialysis Unit.

Vigil Rites (Prayers) will be held at 7:00PM, on Monday, August 10, 2015 at OUR LADY OF THE ASSUMPTION CATHOLIC CHURCH, 2405 12 Avenue South, Lethbridge.

A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11:00AM, on Tuesday, August 11, 2015, at OUR LADY OF THE ASSUMPTION CATHOLIC CHURCH, with Father Lucas Drapal celebrant. Interment will follow in the St. Andrew’s Cemetery, Loggieville, NB, at a later date.

WALLWORK

Ernest James “Jim” Wallwork of Bow Island passed away on Thursday, August 6, 2015, at the age of 95 years. He leaves to cherish his memory three children, Dave (Margery) Wallwork of Bow Island, Allen (Arlene) Wallwork of Airdrie and Margaret (Bill) Benson of Edmonton; six grandchildren, Vince (Carla) Wallwork, Ethan Wallwork, Amy Wallwork, Randi Wallwork (Dan Cornish), Tiegan Benson and Thomas Benson; three great grandchildren Aiden and Eric Wallwork and Kane Cornish. He also leaves his summer son Don (Jan) Milne and their children Scott and Ryan to cherish his memory. He was predeceased by his parents, Marian and Walter Wallwork; his wife Doris on January 22, 2005; two sisters Dorothy Weir and Lucille McDonald. JACOB REIMER, of Coaldale, AB, beloved husband of the late Magdalene Reimer, passed away peacefully at Sunny South Lodge on Wednesday, August 5, 2015 at the age of 84 years.

A Memorial Service will be held at PARK MEADOWS BAPTIST CHURCH, 2011 – 15 Avenue North, Lethbridge, AB on Saturday, August 8, 2015 at 2:00 P.M. with Pastor Lorne Willms officiating.

A Private Family Interment will be held prior to the Memorial Service at the Coaldale Mennonite Cemetery.

HARRISON

1929-2015

Robin Caruth (Bob) Harrison “Maintiens le Droit” and he did with exemplary service to the RCMP for 23 years. Upon retirement from the RCMP, Bob taught at Lethbridge Community College for 21 years and served on the Driver Control Board for 12 years.

Bob was born in Kelowna and received his schooling in Victoria before joining the force in 1948. All of his service was in Saskatchewan with the exception of time spent on the Musical Ride. Bob retired as NCO of Depot Division in Regina. After joining the Lethbridge Community College in 1972, Bob took a sabbatical and earned his MA and BSc degrees in Criminal Justice at the age of 55.

Bob is survived by his wife of 60 years, Marian, daughter Kathy (husband Tom Schultz), son Eric (wife Patti), grandchildren Shannon Cassidy (John Scott Hayward), Laura Cassidy (Kiel Klapp), Hayden Harrison and Austin Harrison, sister Elizabeth (Fred) Herrndorf and numerous nieces and nephews. Bob was predeceased by his father Cmdr Leslie Harrison, RN and RCN, mother Phyllis Harrison, brother Lt Col Peter Harrison and sister Deborah Hertzberg.

At his request, Bob will be honoured at a private graveside ceremony surrounded by his immediate family at a later date.

The family would like to thank the staff of St Michael’s Health Centre, Lethbridge, for the excellent care Bob received over the past 1 1/2 years. If desired, donations may be made to St. Michael’s Health Centre. No flowers please.
