PERRY-GLOBA, PAMELA SUSAN

August 25, 1952 – August 14, 2014

It is with great sadness that we announce the sudden, but peaceful passing of Pamela Susan Perry-Globa on August 14, 2015 in the ICU of the Chinook Regional Hospital with her loving husband Don at her side. Pamela was born in Winnipeg, Manitoba on August 25, 1952. She began her formal education in Winnipeg and graduated, with honours, from Kelvin High School. She had an amazing thirst for learning and began her university studies at the University of Manitoba before moving to Calgary and continuing her studies at the University of Calgary graduating with a Bachelor of Arts (Honours), Archaeology. She then received a Professional Diploma After Degree, English, University of Alberta, Graduate Diploma After Degree, Educational Administration, University of Alberta and a Master of Education, Teacher Education and Supervision, University of Calgary. Pamela was a master educator who loved teaching and nurturing her students in St. Albert and Calgary for the CBE. She fondly thought of the years she taught at John G. Diefenbaker and Central Memorial High Schools. Pamela also enjoyed the time she spent working in Human Resources at the Prince County Hospital, Summerside, PE and as an Instructional Designer at Lethbridge College. Pamela’s incredible understanding of curriculum and curriculum development went hand in hand with her expertise as a writer and lead to the publication of over 13 Social Studies student texts and teacher resources. She was most proud of the work she did with Oxford University Press and with the 6 new text books she developed or wrote for the new curriculum of studies in Social Studies in Alberta. Pamela was proceeded by her mother Noreen, Aunt Willie, favourite Aunt Do, in-laws Peter and Anne Globa and the loves’ of her life, our Cocker Spaniels, Maxwell, Jazz, Ragtime, Spenser, Wallace and McGee. Pamela is survived by her loving husband, of 29 years, Don and her 10 month old Bichon Shih Tzu cross Jake. Pamela’s hobbies included travelling with her family, gardening, needle point, reading, cheering for her Blue Jays and DYI. Don would like to thank Dr. Low, Kyla, Jackyn and all the nurses of the ICU at the Chinook Regional Hospital for their professional and loving care. It was Pamela’s request that there would be no funeral service. In lieu of flowers, a donation can be made to the Lethbridge Humane Society in Pamela’s name. Today is Pamela’s birthday, so please don’t be sad, pour yourself a glass of wine and make a toast to her. May God bless.
