Calahan Henry Bruder

Calahan (Henry) Bruder, passed away tragically on September 6, 2015, near Beaver Mines, AB.

Calahan was born in Pincher Creek, AB on March 1, 1996. He lived and went to school in Pincher Creek, AB.

Calahan was the happiest when he was working with his Dad, Lorne, on the rigs. Nothing in life made him more proud. He was most comfortable being with friends and family sharing, throughout his years, his love of the mountains.

Calahan is survived by his loving parents, Sue and Lorne Bruder, sister Sage (Ryan Williamson), brothers Freddie Bruder, and Whyat Bruder, all of Pincher Creek, AB. Aunts Jennie (Don) Marsden, of Fort MacLeod, and Sandy Young of Pincher Creek. His Grandmother, Freda Bruder of Pincher Creek, AB. Calahan was predeceased by his Aunt, Lillian Turnbull.

Henry Peter Dueck passed away suddenly into the presence of the Lord at his home on Saturday September 5, 2015.

ERLING HERRESVELE

Former Barons farmer passed away at the age of 98 on Aug. 13, 2015, at Wheatland Lodge, Leask Sask. He was born on the family farm on April 3, 1917 to Gerhardine and Enevald Herresvele of the Bowville district and farmed there until 1981 when he married Anne Bloom and moved to Shellbrook Sask.

Predeceased by his first wife Elsie in 1971, second wife Anne 2013, father 1938, mother 1982, four sisters; Amanda 1922, Emma Johnson 1966, Ella Barber 1992, Sigri Swaren 2010. Survived by his brother Gustav, Lethbridge, 2 sisters Bertine Johnson, Claresholm, Mabel Row, Barons, numerous nieces and nephews and in-laws.

Funeral services were held at Immanuel Lutheran Church, Parkside Sask, on Aug. 25, 2015.


GEORGE GRAYDON BUXTON (JODY)

passed on suddenly going to work 5AM, August 28, 2015 at Saskatoon, Saskatchewan (attributed to A-FIB delay). He was born Sept. 3, 1952 at Innisfail, Alberta, to Carol Anne and Kenneth Joseph Buxton, Bowden, Alta. A Gracious Heavenly Father shortened Jody’s days to be forever young and join his earthly father, Ken, (born 1927) who passed away 3:13 AM, Dec. 5, 2013 at St. Michael’s Health Care Centre, Lethbridge, Alta. Jody is predeceased by Grandparents Margaret and George E. Bell Sr. of Gleichen, Alta. former MLA in the Manning Government for Bow Valley. Also gone on ahead are Grandparents Susan and George Buxton of Bowden, Alberta. Survivors are a loving wife Victoria, two amazing sons Graydon Kenneth and Darby Michael Buxton. A daughter Jeannine Margaret Buxton is teaching in N. Dakota. He is forever deeply loved and sadly missed by ‘Mom’ Anne, numerous relatives and friends at Calgary, Athabasca, Gleichen, Bowden, Southern Alberta and Saskatoon, Sask. He was an honest friend to all – a real King maker, always ready to help others succeed in all walks of life. A near fatal car accident at 15 years old resulted in a courageous life struggle. As a jockey and respected natural horseman, Jody was involved in the riding and training of the best, and rode to victory the first American Quarter horse to be officially timed at Calgary Stampede named Terrie Jane, owner Julie Mclaughlin – 1968. In thoroughbreds – 1976 NWR Tango King and Josh’s Hero (Canadian Derby 1992) were among the many Champions he developed, humbly with gratitude. A memorial will be held at a later date.


GILCHRIST

October 29th, 1935 -September 10th, 2015

EDWARD REAL GILCHRIST, beloved husband of Olive Gilchrist, of Lethbridge, passed away on Thursday, September 10, 2015.

Ed leaves behind his loving wife Olive Gilchrist, his three children Laverne (Michael) Bryant, Kim (Robert) Laing, Lance (Sue) Gilchrist; his grandchildren Chad Laing, Tim Laing, Rodd Laing, Megan Johnson, Nathan Gilchrist, Shaun Gilchrist, Jayce Bryant, Kevan Bryant; his seven great-grandchildren, his sister Bev (Floyd) Anderson, and brother-in-laws Demoine Dunk, Lloyd (Arlene) Dunk. He was predeceased by his parents, Nople and Ray Gilchrist, and in-laws Florence and Everett Dunk.

Ed’s desire to serve and his spirit of community led him to be involved with many organizations. Dad was a proud member of the Lethbridge Fire Department for 35 years and remained active through the Firefighter Retiree group, was a member of the Independent Order of Odd Fellows, Lethbridge Rock Club, Sons of Norway, SATRA and River of Life Church. Ed retired in 1992, and along with Olive spent many years building memories with their family, enjoying a variety of outdoor pursuits, farming and travel.

A Celebration of Life Service will be held at RIVER OF LIFE COMMUNITY CHURCH, 2820 – 18 Avenue North, Lethbridge on Wednesday, September 16th, 2015 at 5:30 P.M.

GOULET

Ginny (Virginia) Goulet of Moon River Estates, Alberta, passed away peacefully on Sunday, August 23, 2015 at St. Michael’s Health Centre in Lethbridge, Alberta at the age of 64 years. Ginny is lovingly remembered by her partner Brian Dalshaug, mother Lillian Goulding, sister Cindy Goulding (Paul Kiziak), nephews Ryan (Kayla) and Corey Pullyblank, great nephew Parker, as well as other family members and close friends. She was predeceased by her father, Ernest Goulding. Ginny was born November 23, 1950 in Blairmore, Alberta. When she was young, the family moved to Lloydminster, Alberta. Her adult life brought her to Red Deer, Alberta and then to Moon River Estates, Alberta. Ginny worked in the office for Fas Gas and the Royal Bank in Red Deer, and then became a Casino Advisor, working with countless volunteers within the Red Deer and Calgary regions. For many years, Ginny ran Ginmist Kennels, raising and showing German Shepherd dogs. She is also survived by her beloved shepherds Roxy and Luke, who are also left mourning her passing. She loved to travel to hot destinations, cruising, going on off shore excursions, reading and gardening. She also loved to entertain; her love of cooking brought many to her table to feast on her delicious creations. She loved Christmas, and it showed with her decorations in and outside her home. Ginny was a force, an active and vibrant woman, who would light up a room with her presence and laughter. Ginny was always willing to lend a hand. She had amazing organizational skills and was always extremely dedicated to each project she took on. Her generosity and compassionate nature lifted the spirits of those who needed it. She was an inspiration to those that met her. She was very active in the communities in which she lived. She selflessly volunteered countless hours through the years to many causes that she was passionate about, including: Job’s Daughters International, Red Deer Kennel Club, Red Deer SPCA, Scotty Tournament of Hearts, CIBC Run for the Cure-Canadian Breast Cancer Foundation, Relay for Life–Canadian Cancer Society, and the Alzheimer Society of Canada. At the time of her passing, she was a highly committed senator for the University of Lethbridge, and chairperson of the Children’s Wish Foundation for the Lethbridge area. As per her wish, there will be no formal service. A celebration of Ginny’s life was held on August 29, 2015. 1930 – 2015
 It is with sadness we announce the passing away of our dear husband, father and opa, Wilhelmus Theodorus Johannes Huvenaars. His release from this life happened at home on Wednesday, September 9, 2015 at the age of 85 years. His passing into the glory was a relief for him and his family after battling a number of health issues.

 He was predeceased by his parents Martina and Johannes Huvenaars; brother Theo Huvenaars; sister Mien Huvenaars; brother-in-law Gerard Van den Broek; sisters-in-law Netta and Dora Huvenaars. 
 Bill was born on March 27, 1930 in Uden, The Netherlands. He married Tillie VanKessel on May 1, 1958 and they immigrated to Canada the same year. They arrived in Halifax and traveled across Canada to Warner. They then moved to Wrentham before settling down on their farm in Hays in 1964. They continued farming until they retired to Taber in 1999. Dad was very proud of his children and grandchildren and their accomplishments. He was a strong and gentle man, very hard working and he had a wonderful sense of humour.

May 1941 – August 2015

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Paul, who passed away peacefully in Terrace B.C at the age of 74 with family & close friends at his side,

hearing the song, Amazing Grace, sung just before he transitioned to paradise, to be with Jesus, Paul accepted Jesus as his lord and Savior in the late 80’s, and Strongly believed in prayer.

Paul is pre-deceased by his Grandson Jordan Peters and Parents Dorothy & Henry Peters. Paul is survived by Anne Peters, Mother of their 3 children, Son, Tony Peters (Jo-Ann), 2 Daughters, Jackie Tyslau & Anita Ketsa (Rick), 6 Grandchildren, Paige, Kye & Ria Jarvie, Chelsea Peters, Mathew & Daniel Ketsa & 4 Great Grandchildren, Kourbyne & Caydence Jarvie & London and Nevaeh White. Paul is also survived by his older Brother Bob Peters (Sylvia) and Family.

A special mention to Margaret Hill and her family who shared the past 9 years of Paul’s life as very close friends. Jason left us with a legacy of memories that we shall cherish forever, his big smile, laughter, humbleness, kindness, respect but most of all his love for his family. Jason grew up with his cousins that he took as his siblings, Kendall (Tanis), Bradford (Sandy), Felishia Red Crow, Lisa (J.B.) Iron Shirt C.J. Wright, Sasha (Jon) Wells, Cori, Rori, and Hailee White Quills, Jeremiah Davis, Hawk Williams, Ky Many Fingers, Paul Jr. (Jasmine) Low Horn.

Jason`s early education began at Levern Elementary School and Tatsikisaap`op Middle School. He continued with his education, both Jr. and Sr. High School at St. Mary’s. He then furthered his education in 2007 at Lethbridge Community College, enrolled in the Criminal Justice Program, graduating with honours. In 2013-2014, Jason gained employment with BTEST. In doing so, he received 20 job related tickets and accomplished a great work ethic, obtained valuable knowledge and skills, allowing him to work in Fort Mc Murray on the Fort McKay Project.

Special Thank You to Blood Tribe Fire fighters, Ambulance, Police, Basil Devine and Clay Plume. A heartfelt Thank You to Cornerstone Funeral Home for their Compassion, during this difficult time.

George Cornelius Wall

1924 – 2015

George Cornelius Wall of Lethbridge, Alberta, beloved husband of Mary Wall (Penner), passed away peacefully at the Chinook Regional Hospital on September 9, at the age of ninety-one years.

George was born in Karassan in the Crimea. His family immigrated to Canada when he was six years old, the youngest of five children. The Wall family made their way across Canada by train and settled in Coaldale where they began to farm. George had a passion for farming and from those beginnings he established a successful farming and livestock business with his family.

George had a strong commitment to his community. He was a long time member of the Coaldale Mennonite Church. George also served on many boards such as the Irrigation Council of Alberta and for thirty years as a member of the Coaldale Hospital Board. George had a deep interest in geography and he and Mary travelled extensively throughout the world.

Besides his wife Mary, of sixty-four years, George is survived by his children Herb (Kristine), Eleanor Willms, Gord (Connie), Les (Lisa) and daughter-in-law Denise (Rob Rittenberg) Wall. Also left behind to mourn him are his fifteen grandchildren, Andrew (Melissa) Wall, Ainsley (Spencer) Croil, Avery Wall, Jennifer (Rob) Tanguay, Mark (Jessica) Willms, Brian (Caitlin McCredie) Willms, Kathryn (Tanner Clements) Willms, Emily (Rob) Reid, Jesse (Dave) Fowlis, Murray Wall, Lynette Wall, Jeremy Wall, Alyssa Wall, Celia (Tanner) Granberg, Karleen (Jared) Clark and nine great-grandchildren.

George was predeceased by his son Bob Wall and son-in-law Jake Willms.

George treasured his family and truly enjoyed the times spent together celebrating. He will be forever missed.

Family and friends are invited to pay their respects between 7:00 pm and 8:00 pm on Sunday, September 13, 2015 at the MARTIN BROTHERS RIVERVIEW CHAPEL, 610 – 4 Street South, Lethbridge, AB.

The Funeral Service will be held at 2:00 pm on Monday, September 14 at the COALDALE MENNONITE CHURCH, 2315 – 17 Street, Coaldale, AB with Pastor Lillian Thompson and Gerald Klassen officiating.
