BAILLIE
BRUCE JAMES BAILLIE, beloved husband of Karen Baillie of Raymond, AB., passed away peacefully, at the Raymond Health Centre, on Tuesday, November 3, 2015 at the age of 68 years.
Bruce is survived by his family, Robbie, Jamie (Tasha), of Moose Jaw, Sask., Scotty (Nicole), of Moose Jaw, Sask., Mark (Michelle) McKellar, of White Court, AB. and Melissa (Mark) Berridge, of Huxley, AB. as well as 15 grandchildren.
Bruce is also survived by his sister Marlene Moore of Moose Jaw, Sask. and niece Stacey (Phillip) Simms of Moose Jaw, Sask. He was predeceased by his parents Ruth and James.
Bruce marched to the beat of his own drum. He loved politics and debates. Bruce started his own band – playing guitar, fiddle and mandolin. His first music adventure was playing with the St. Andrews Boy’s Pipe Band as lead snare drummer. He was a well loved postman, trucker and other jobs at various times. He had a big, generous heart and a great sense of humour. He loved all the animals they adopted throughout the years. Bruce touched many lives and will be greatly missed by all who knew him.
Bruce lived his life to the fullest. Please join us in a toast in Bruce’s honor.

Virginia “Gina†Cattoni
1924 – 2015
Virginia “Gina†Cattoni passed away peacefully in Lethbridge at Chinook Regional Hospital, surrounded by her family, on Friday October 30, 2015 at the age of 91 years.
A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11:00am on Thursday, November 5, 2015 at ST. BASILS CATHOLIC CHURCH, 604 – 13th Street North, Lethbridge, with Father Lukas Drapal officiating. Interment to follow in Mountain View Cemetery.

Wanda Djordjevic
1924 – 2015
Wanda Djordjevic, resident of Sunrise Gardens, Brooks, passed away peacefully on November 1, 2015, All Saints Day.
Wanda was born March 2, 1924 in Nowy Pruszyn, Poland to Gottlob and Emilie Straupe. In June 1949, she and her daughter Inge, courageously left Germany, starting a new life in Canada. Wanda and Milenko were married in Lethbridge in 1952, and lived in the Crowsnest Pass, Coalhurst, Shaughnessy and Picture Butte before moving to Lethbridge in 1993. Landscaping and beautifying their property was great enjoyment for Wanda. Starting seeds, growing plants and flowers were a special hobby. Wanda was very industrious and enjoyed working hard, she took great pride in her work in food services at the University of Lethbridge. Travel, camping, and mushroom picking were enjoyed by Wanda and Mike and they met many friends. Hospitality was an important gift they shared with many.
Wanda was predeceased by her daughter Inge in 1977, husband Milenko “Mike†of 55 years in 2008, and numerous family members in Germany.
Wanda is survived by son Peter Djordjevic (Trudy) of Lethbridge; daughter Helga Ledene (Dan) of Brooks; grandchildren Kimberly May (Rob), Michael Djordjevic, Jolene Ledene Reimer (Gilbert), Kristy Ledene Johnson (Todd), Jenny Ledene Zolkewski (Troy), Danielle Thomas (Danny) and Renee Stevenson; great grandchildren Christine Phillips, Trista Lyczewski, Katelyn Fox, Nora Johnson, Ajay Thomas, Levi Thomas, Nigel Reimer and Olive Zolkewski.
Special thanks to all who have visited Wanda, cared for her and loved her as a friend.

GEORGE ANDREW GANGUR, beloved husband of Mary Ellen Gangur, of Lethbridge, passed away peacefully at St. Therese Villa, on Friday, October 30, 2015 at the age of 85 years.
Besides his loving wife Mary Ellen, he is also survived by his son Lawrie Gangur of Gloucester, daughter Val (Shane) Pinnock of Lethbridge, three step-daughters; Phyllis (Bob) Hodges of Saskatoon, Barbara (Brooks) Allisen of Nanaimo, Shauna (Richard) Sharp of Lethbridge, grandchildren; Darcy (Kelly) Matras, Paul Matras, Martin (Annie) Gangur, Spencer (Kim) Pinnock, Allison Pinnock (Travis), Kerry-Ellen (Geoff) Murdoch, Colin (Katie) Willdig, Brian (Catherine) Wynder, Mark (Val) Wynder, Nicholas (Lee Ann) Wynder, 16 great- grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
George was born on October 15, 1930 at Eight Mile Lake. He grew up on a farm in Southern Alberta with seven brothers and one sister. George worked as a truck driver at Broder’s Cannery and worked his way to Superintendent. Fishing and hunting were his passions; in fact George claimed he was never skunked. He and Mary Ellen owned and operated two campgrounds, stores and a restaurant in B.C. His creative ability in the restaurant kitchen made him famous for miles around.
From 1982 to 2004, the two of them wintered in Arizona and George finally had time to pursue painting and jewelry-making. He belonged to the Knights of Columbus and was a 50-year member of the Royal Canadian Legion. He and Mary Ellen celebrated their 40th Anniversary on October 3rd.
From 2004, illness prevented further travel and George spent his last few years close to home enjoying his family, friends, neighbors and his greatest joy, his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
A Prayer Service will be held at CORNERSTONE FUNERAL HOME, 2800 Mayor Magrath Drive South, Lethbridge, AB., on Friday, November 6, 2015, at 7:00 P.M., with Sharon Hagel officiating.
A Funeral Mass will be Celebrated at OUR LADY OF THE ASSUMPTION CATHOLIC CHURCH, 2405 – 12th Avenue South, Lethbridge, AB., on Saturday, November 7, 2015 at 10:30 A.M., with Father Kevin Tumback, Celebrant.
Interment to follow at Mountain View Cemetery.

Kenneth Eiichi Ito
1921 – 2015
Dad was born on Salt Spring Island, BC to parents Nakazo and Hatsu. After arriving to Alberta he endured many hardships which he overcame. He married his wife of 70 years, Sueko Hikida on August 1, 1945 in Raymond, AB. Together they raised 5 children; June, Ron (Sheila), Dennis (Chris, deceased), Janet (Steve) and Irene.
He was a hard worker and a good provider for his family. Dad was a quiet man who always thought the best of everyone. Whether greeting friends old or new he always had a ready smile. He had two passions which he excelled at; gardening and fishing.
He is survived by his loving wife, children, 10 grandchildren; 15 great grandchildren; and sister-in-law Marge Hikida.
Special thanks to his medical staff and caregivers who assisted him in his later life.
A Memorial Service will be held at 2:00pm on Friday, November 6, 2015 at MARTIN BROTHERS RIVERVIEW CHAPEL, 610 – 4th Street South, Lethbridge.

Katharine Russell
1930 – 2015
Katharine Lois Russell UE, of Lethbridge, beloved wife of Frank A. Russell, passed away peacefully at Chinook Regional Hospital on November 1, 2015 at the age of 85 years.
Born June 9, 1930, the second daughter of William and Beatrice Darker of St. Catherine’s, ON. She attended school in that city, before going to McMaster University (B.A.) and University of Toronto (B.S.W.). She worked as a group social worker at the YWCA in Toronto before marrying Frank Russell, the geologist fiancé she had met at McMaster. After living in Sudbury for two years, they moved with their new daughter to Alberta, where Frank was part of the family farm operation. Katharine continued her community involvement as well as managing a growing family. Her membership to the Cdn.Fedn. Of University Women, Lethbridge Naturalists, YWCA (board member), McKillop United Church, Women of Unifarm (director), and acting as a school environmental education volunteer, indicates the scope of her dedication to the interests and welfare of Lethbridge and Southern Alberta.
Besides her loving husband, Katharine is survived by her daughter Janet (Glenn Miles), her sons Jim (Liza) and Alex (Christine); grandchildren Madeline, Naomi, Jeffry, Thea, Miranda, Meaghan and Daniel; and her sister Elaine Correll of Ottawa. She was predeceased by her parents William and Beatrice Darker.
The family would like to thank the staff of the Chinook Regional Hospital for their care and attention in Katharine’s last days.
