Raquel Del Socorro Barrantes of Lethbridge, beloved partner of Guadalupe Alonzo, passed away suddenly at Chinook Regional Hospital on December 1, 2015 at the age of 45 years.

CHYMBORYK

It is with great sadness that we announce the peaceful passing of EDWARD CARL CHYMBORYK, on Thursday, December 3, 2015 at the age of 89 years.

Edward is survived by his sons; John (Shauna), James (Nellie), Douglas, and his daughters; Lori and Linda, five precious grandchildren and four great grandchildren.

Edward was predeceased by his soul mate Maxine.

He was born on April 28, 1926, the third of six children in Saskatchewan and raised in Qu’Appelle Valley. Dad after leaving home, and a brief stint in the army (PPLI), was up for adventure which took him across the country. Dad was a man who was never afraid of hard work and putting in an honest day’s work – ideals which he passed on to his children. He was also a living example on how to honor vows and commitments made to his wife, family and others.

Dad will be forever remembered for regaling family and friends with stories from his colourful past. His passion for helping others was exemplified through his 31 years of service on the Lethbridge City Police and coaching baseball. As a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, he took great joy in magnifying his various callings.

His loving example will be missed.

Friends are invited to meet with the family on Tuesday, December 8, 2015 from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. at CHRISTENSEN SALMON GENERATIONS FUNERAL HOME, 703 – 13 Street North Lethbridge.

At his request, a private family interment will take place at a later date.

LARRY COE, beloved husband of Molly Coe, of Lethbridge, passed away suddenly on Thursday, December 3, 2015 at the age of 68 years.

He was the loving father to April Adler and a wonderful grandfather to Sofia Adler. He is survived by his brother Charles Coe and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents Clyde and Lillian Coe.

A Private Family Gathering will be held at a later date.

SEPT. 1928 – Dec. 2015

JOSEPH ENTZ of Warner AB, beloved husband of Katie Entz passed away at home on Dec. 5, 2015 at the age of 87 years.

He was born at Milltown, South Dakota on Sept. 2, 1928 and came to Elmspring Colony in 1929, then moved to Bluegrass Colony in 2002 where he lived until his passing. On June 5, 1956 Joseph married Katie Entz and after 59.5 years of marriage, they were blessed with a big family. He leaves his sons; Walter (Elsie), Joe (Esther), Paul, John (Julia), his daughters; Linda, Katie (Jacob), Annie (Daniel), Mary (Tim), Justina (David), Elsie, and Dora (David). Joseph was blessed with 40 grandchildren and 18 great grandchildren. He is also survived by two brothers; Peter and Michael, two sisters; Elizabeth and Rebecca and numerous nieces and nephews. He will be greatly missed by all whose lives he touched.

Dad was a born farmer, and with the positions he was assigned on the colony, he led by example and his hardworking ethic and conservative values were instilled in those around him and will not be forgotten. May he rest in peace.

A Funeral Service will be held on December 8, 2015. Interment to follow at Bluegrass Colony Cemetery.

JOYCE LORRAINE (SHIPLEY) GARNER, wife of Lyman Garner, passed away in Cardston on Thursday, December 3, 2015 at the age of 95 years.

The Funeral service will be held at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Glenwood, Alberta on Saturday, December 12, 2015 at 2:00 p.m.

Friends may meet the family from 12:45 to 1:45 p.m. prior to the service. Interment to follow in the Glenwood Cemetery.

Evelyn “Ev” Ponech

1929 – 2015

Mrs. Evelyn “Ev” Ponech of Lethbridge, beloved wife of Andy Ponech, passed away after a lengthy illness on Friday, December 4, 2015 at the age of 86 years.

Evelyn was born in Virden, Manitoba in 1929, and the eldest of six children. As a young woman she made her way to Lethbridge, where she met and married Andy in 1949. Ev was an active member of her church where she served as president of the UCW and superintendent of the CGIT.

After her retirement from Woolco, she spent her days pursuing various hobbies and interests. Ev enjoyed Scottish country dancing, camping, was an avid golfer, and spent hours doing word search puzzles.

Besides her loving husband Andy, Evelyn is survived by her two daughters Beverly and Kathryn and their families, her two sons Ken and Don and their families as well as numerous nieces, nephews and their families.

Evelyn is predeceased by her son Darrell.
