Ted Scott (E.D. Scott)

1928 - 2015

It is with great sorrow and heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Ted Scott on Sunday, December 20, 2015 at the Pincher Creek Municipal Hospital.

Besides his loving wife of 51 years, Sharron, Ted is survived by his children Mitch Scott, April (George) Owens, Adaire Boutlan (Ashley) Rex Scott (Sarah), Che (Cindy) Scott, Queenie Scott (Greg). Also mourning his passing are his 20 grandchildren, 4 great grandchildren, sister, Barbara (Jim) Hiens; sisters-in-law Chris (George) Crook, Colleen (Marvin) Mensaghi, Rhonda Stuckey (Bob), as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

Ted was born in Calgary on August 7, 1928 to parents Cecil and Margaret Scott.

At the age of 19, Ted moved with his parents to Lloydminster, Alberta. Ted had a varied working career with his first job being with XL Refineries working in the lab. From there he began seismic work with Shell Canada and this led to his being employed by Shell Canada at the Waterton Gas Plant where he remained for 25 years. One of his favourite jobs was with Chinook Construction. He truly loved trucking and was very proud of his Class I License which was still in effect at the time of his passing.

It was when he moved to Pincher Creek that he met the love of his life, Sharron Stuckey, and they were married on June 30, 1964. They reside in Pincher Creek where they raised their six children.

Ted was a unique man and those who knew him soon realized that his strong exterior belied his soft and gentle nature. Who would have known that Ted loved poetry and that he actually had a favourite flower and that was red roses. You could always find Ted at the kitchen table in the morning doing a crossword puzzle and enjoying his coffee. Above all, his love of his family was most important to him and times spent together were so cherished.

Ted was a loyal and true friend and will be sadly missed by all who knew and loved him.

The funeral service will be held at 1:00 P.M. on Tuesday, December 29, 2015 at St. Michael’s Catholic Church, 958 Christie Ave, Pincher Creek, AB, with Father Silvano Vargas Officiating

If friends so desire, memorial tributes in Ted’s name may be made directly to Crestview Lodge, Box 1058, Pincher Creek, Alberta T0K 1W0.
