Larry was born June 22, 1945 in Claresholm, Alberta and passed away peacefully at home in Stavely, Alberta on Tuesday, March 29, 2016. Larry is lovingly remembered by his wife, Teresa; his children, Marni (Dana Brown), Shawna (Lionel Gibbs), Paul (Jodi), Christena (Paul McKeage) Colin (Rachel); 10 grandchildren; his brother, Tom; and numerous nieces and nephews. Larry was predeceased by his father, Gail; mother, Goldie; and sister, Jackie. A Celebration of Larry’s Life will held in the Stavely Community Hall on Tuesday, April 5, 2016 at 2:00 PM. Michael Miles Boras

1927 – 2016

Mr. Michael Miles Boras of Picture Butte, beloved husband of Mrs. Helen Boras, passed away at St. Michael’s Palliative Care Unit on Tuesday, March 29, 2016 at the age of 88 years.

Besides his loving wife Helen, Michael is survived by his sister Anne Gibbons; brother Ivan Boras; brother-in-law Carl (Leslie) Culler, as well as the extended Boras families; Culler, Balderston, Fudra, Duncombe.

Michael is predeceased by his parents Katherine and Peter Boras; brothers George and Walter Boras; brothers-in-law Steve and Chester Fudra, Earl Gibbons, Wally Duncombe, sisters-in-law Doris Boras and Anne Fudra and father-in-law Steve Fudra Sr.

A Memorial Service will be held at 10:00AM on Saturday, April 2, 2016 at ST. CATHERINE’S ROMAN CATHOLIC CHURCH, 762 Crescent Avenue North, Picture Butte, AB., with Father Ian Gagne, officiating.

Interment will be held at 9:00AM in the Huntsville Cemetery, Iron Springs, AB.

JOANNE MORNING OWL/CURLY RIDER/WOLF CHILD –

August 13, 1967 – March 24, 2016.

All the angels are rejoicing as one more faithful servant enters the Kingdom of God. Joanne went home peacefully to be with our Lord and Savior on Thursday, March 24, 2016 at the age of 48 years.

Joanne will always be remembered for her kind genuine personality, humbleness, smile, sense of humour and her friendly nature, She was instrumental in bearing witness of her faith in the Lord Jesus Christ, and inspiring many to fight the good fight of faith.

Joanne grew up with her cousins and favorite cousin Glenda in Little Chicago. They did silly stuff together and were always up to no good. Before her illness she loved to play sports such as volleyball, fastball and slow pitch.

Joanne went to school at St. Paul’s day school, Cardston Elementary School, Glenwood school, Cardston High school, St. Mary’s High School, and Red Crow College. Joanne’s home Church was New Life Fellowship Centre.

Jesse Kore Peachey

1936 – 2016

Jesse Kore Peachey, of Raymond, Alberta, passed away on March 29, 2016, at the hospital in Raymond at the age of 79, four weeks after being diagnosed with pancreatic cancer. He was the beloved husband of Faye Elizabeth Peachey.

Jesse was born to Rufus and Annie (Zook) Peachey on November 28, 1936, in Belleville, Pennsylvania. He grew up there as an Amish boy in the Kishacoquillas Valley. As a young man he decided to devote his life to following Jesus. In December of 1957, he married Faye, and soon after their marriage they moved to a pioneer community in the mountains of British Columbia. He was ordained as a minister in McBride, BC, in 1967. In 1972, Jesse and Faye and their family moved to Bay Tree, AB, a farming community in the Peace River country. After his retirement in 2008, Jesse and Faye moved to Raymond, AB.

Jesse loved the northern bush and worked for many years as a logger and sawyer. He also loved the land and enjoyed farming in the Peace River country. He and Faye dedicated four years of their lives as well to caring for Faye’s parents in their old age.

Jesse’s life was characterized by generosity, humility, and gratefulness. He loved God and people and took joy in the small things of life. His kindness and acceptance of people will be remembered by all those who came into contact with him.

Jesse is survived by his wife Faye (Baer) Peachey and nine children: Carol Peachey of Harrisonburg, VA; David (and Barbara) Peachey of Bay Tree, AB; Jonathan (and Donna) Peachey of Kamloops, BC; Julia (and Daniel) Brubaker of Raymond and Bay Tree, AB; Alta (and Dennis) Breen of Saskatoon, SK; Twila (and Brian) Smucker of Bonners Ferry, ID; Glen Peachey of Fort St. John, BC; Lucinda (and Daniel) Martin of Bay Tree, AB; Linda (and Steven) Overholt of Bay Tree, AB; 42 grandchildren and 21 great-grandchildren. Also surviving are his siblings: Elizabeth (and David) Peachey of Oakland, MD; Barbara (and Henry) Byler of Belleville, PA; Jacob (and Juanita) Peachey of Belleville, PA; David (and Linda) Peachey of Belleville, PA, and one sister-in-law, Fannie Peachey of Belleville, PA. Preceding him in death are one son, Kevin Peachey, his parents and six siblings.

Relatives and friends are invited to a visitation at 6:30 p.m. on Sunday, April 3rd, 2016, at the MARTIN BROTHERS RIVERVIEW CHAPEL, 610 – 4 St. S, Lethbridge, AB.

SANDERS

THOMAS LADELL SANDERS, loving father of Shanon and Bill, passed away at the Foothills Medical Centre, on Saturday, March 26, 2016 after a brief battle with cancer at the age of 63 years.

Tom was born April 17, 1952 in Lethbridge to Ladell “Dude” and Alexina “Zena” Sanders. He married Wendy Berglund with whom he shared some wonderful years. Many summers were spent taking the kids camping and fishing. He also enjoyed bow hunting and was quite skilled. During the winter, he enjoyed curling and entered many bonspiels throughout Southern Alberta. He then found his true passion and love of bowling. He not only bowled, he coached and mentored many youth bowlers over the years and would have told you “to keep your arm straight”. Tom was a true to heart good guy and family was very important to him, whether it was biological, from bowling or his second family at Fountain Tire. He was always willing to help anyone.

Tom will be forever loved and remembered by Shanon (Lance) Littlewood of Calgary, Bill (Melissa) Sanders and grandchildren Austin, Kaylee, and Kaitlyn Sanders of Lethbridge, girlfriend Karen Bader of Lethbridge, siblings Diane (Greg) Sereda of Chestermere, Gary (Brenda) Sanders of Lethbridge, Brian Sanders of Edmonton as well as numerous nieces, nephews and friends.

He was predeceased by his parents, Ladell and Alexina Sanders and his sister Connie Nori.

A Celebration of Tom’s Life will be held at THE LETHBRIDGE SENIOR CITIZENS ORGANIZATION, 500-11th Street South, Lethbridge, Alberta, on Wednesday, April 23, 2016, from 3:00 P.M. to 7:00 P.M.

Garry “Wire” Wyrostok

1948 – 2016

Garry Michael Wyrostok of Lethbridge, Alberta, beloved husband of the late Margaret Wyrostok, passed away suddenly on March 27th, 2016 at the age of 68 years. Garry was born in Shaughnessy, Alberta in 1948 to George and Margaret Wyrostok. Garry graduated from Catholic Central High School in 1966. He began working at Canadian Western Natural Gas (now Atco Gas) in the early 1970s, and retired in 2013. In his youth, Garry played many sports, excelling at hockey and fastball. He later developed a passion for the game of golf, and the golf course became his second home. Garry also enjoyed spending time with his family and friends, frequently hosting them at backyard bonfires, and had recently begun pursuing photography as a hobby. Garry was known for his sense of humour and quick wit, and always seemed to have a joke ready to tell. He is survived by his daughter Amber, son James (Natalie), grandson Alexander; brothers Glenn (Wendy) Wyrostok and Geoff Wyrostok; Uncle Lino Chiste; Aunt Lillian (“Babe”) Soice; sisters-in-law Vi Roth, Anna Wutzke, Verna Roth, Roberta Roth, Eleanor (Terry) Collins, and Kathy (Ed) Carpenter; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and their families. DELBERT YOUNG PINE, of the Blood Tribe, passed away peacefully at the Lethbridge Regional Hospital on Sunday March 27th, 2016 at the age of 53 years.

Elizabeth Zbrodoff

1925 – 2016

MRS. ELIZABETH ZBRODOFF, beloved wife of the late George Zbrodoff, passed away in Lethbridge on Easter Sunday, March 27, 2016, at the age of 90 years. Elizabeth was born in the village of Tilipenki, near the city of Vinnytsa, Ukraine on May 2, 1925. At the end of World War II, she met George Zbrodoff in Germany and they married in 1945. In 1949, they immigrated to Canada with their 3 year old son, Nicolaus and settled in southern Alberta. They had a daughter, Jane, in 1950, created a home base in Lethbridge and rounded out their family with daughter, Betty, in 1962. Elizabeth spent her entire life taking care of her family and aiding her husband while he ran and operated his construction business. Her sole purpose in life was to provide her children with the life and opportunities that had been denied to her in her youth. She was a dedicated wife, mother and “Baba”. Elizabeth is survived by her daughters Jane Zbrodoff (Gordon Logan) of Nashville, Tennessee and Betty Zbrodoff (Don Shackleford) of Lethbridge; and daughter-in-law Adele Zbrodoff of Lethbridge. She was “Baba” to Tracy Zbrodoff (Kam Bullock) of Lethbridge, Scott Zbrodoff of Calgary, John Logan (Sara Stone) of Urbana, IL, Bradley Shackleford of Lethbridge and Derek Shackleford (Meipsy) of Ft. McMurray. She was “Great Baba” to Brittany Wichers, Kylie Bullock, Cameron Shackleford and Freya Shackleford. Elizabeth was predeceased by her parents Josif and Anastazyja Kolodilchek, her sister Anna, her dearest son Nick Zbrodoff and her treasured granddaughter Cassandra Shackleford. Baba Elizabeth will be loved and missed by all. Friends and family are invited to pay their final respects at 12:15pm on Saturday, April 2, 2016 at ST. AUGUSTINE’S ANGLICAN CHURCH, 411-11 St. S.
