Victor Richard Brett of Coaldale, beloved husband of Ida Brett (nee Bellamy), passed away in Lethbridge on Wednesday, March 30, 2016 at the age of 77 years.
A Memorial Service will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Friday, April 8, 2016, at the Coaldale United Church. Flowers are gratefully declined. Those who wish, memorial donations may be made to the Coaldale United Church, 2022 18th Street, Coaldale, Alberta, T1M 1E9.
EHLERT
Richard Craig Ehlert passed away peacefully March 26th 2016 at the age of 68 in Orem Utah surrounded by his family after a brief battle with cancer.
Richard is survived by his wife Leslie Ehlert and brother Brent (Ila) Ehlert, His children Jason (Mikelle), Tyler (Devon), Rebecca (Matteo), Nicole (Curtis), Dainon, Melody (Todd), Kilee (Dainon), DJ (Brittany), Lacey (Jonathan), Spencer (Kathryn) and 26 grandchildren. Richard was predeceased by his parents.
Richard was born on October 9th, 1947 in Magrath, Alberta to Clarence Ehlert and Sarah Wolsey. A Funeral service was held in Orem, Utah on April 1st at the Sharon Stake Centre.
Internment will be at the Magrath Cemetery at 3:00pm April 9th, 2016 after which friends and family are invited to meet at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints Stake Centre at 4:00 pm to meet Richard’s family.
Grace Rose Gyorfi, beloved wife of Michael Gyorfi, passed away on Tuesday, April 5, 2016, at the age of 89 years. She also leaves to cherish her memory two children, Margo (Frank) Merkl of Medicine Hat and Robert Gyorfi of Carmongay; grandchildren, Kristin (Tyler) Townsend, Andrea (Kane) Richards, Janine Merkl (Curtis Cleveland), Jaimee (Tom) Penner, Kayla (Shaun) Courtney and Adam Gyorfi (Kristin Johnston); brother, Earl (Ernie) Lisoski of Penticton and their son Derek Lisoski, as well as 10 great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by her parents, Leo and Kathryn Lisoski in 1971 and 1982; and a son, Douglas Gyorfi in 1978.
Grace was born in Edmonton on December 19, 1926 and raised in Saskatoon and Blaine Lake Saskatchewan. Following high school, she attended Saskatoon Normal School where she received her teacher training. She taught in Saskatchewan for 5 years, then at Senator Gershaw School for 2 years.
In 1953 she married Mike Gyorfi and together they farmed in the Bow Island area for 45 years.
From 1961 to 1984 she taught at St. Michael’s School in Bow Island. Her compassionate nature was evident in her teaching and her many hours spent volunteering for Bow Island organizations like C.W.L. Figure Skating Clubs, 4-H, concerts and carnivals.
Her love for family, friends and her six very special grandchildren and ten great grandchildren (the loves of her life) will live on in their hearts and will be cherished always. Grace’s life evolved around her family and friends and she was a very loving wife, mother and grandmother. Her happiest moments were spent being surrounded by her grandchildren.
Grandma’s home was special for many family gatherings.
Family and friends who wish to pay their respects may do so at the PATTISON FUNERAL HOME on Friday, from 6:00 to 6:55 p.m. and at the church on Saturday from 9:30 a.m. to 10:25 a.m. Family and friends will gather for prayers in the PATTISON CHAPEL on Friday evening at 7:00 p.m. The funeral mass will be celebrated in Holy Family Parish (1451 Strachan Road SE) on Saturday, April 9, 2016 at 10:30 a.m. with Fr. 1924 – 2016
Mrs. Ida Kammerer of Coaldale, beloved wife of the late Wilhelm Kammerer, passed away at St. Michaels Palliative Care Centre on Monday April 4, 2016 at the age of 92 years.
Ida was born on February 16, 1924 in Josephstahl, Ukraine. She is survived by her son Leo (Dina); daughters Monica (Andy) Mulder, Helga (Barry) Biggers, Debra (Rick) Otrhalek; 13 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; 2 great-great grandchildren; 2 sisters Helene Roman, Olga Geworsky and families.
Ida is predeceased by her loving husband Wilhelm; parents Gotlieb & Emilie Look; 2 infant brothers; sister Frieda Hass and 3 brothers-in-law. Ida dedicated the majority of her life to raising her family and managing her home. She was an amazing, strong woman who had a true determination and a fierce sense of independence and a clear mind right to the end. She will be sadly missed by her loving family and friends.

KNIGHT
RUTH MAE KNIGHT, beloved wife of the late Ronald James Knight, passed away in Lethbridge on Tuesday, April 5, 2016 at the age of 89 years.
Ruth was born in Magrath, Alberta on August 19, 1926 to Harden and Lydia Anderson. She lived on a farm near Magrath for 18 years. After graduating from Magrath High School she took hairdressing in Calgary and then went to business college in Salt Lake City. While she was working as a secretary for PFRA, she met Ronald James Knight, a civil engineer working in water resources. They were working on the St. Mary’s Dam Project at the time. On November 17, 1951 they were married. She loved caring for her family, baking sticky buns and butter horns, and service in her church and community. She was an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and she knew that the Lord loved her. Ron predeceased her on June 12, 2002.
She is survived by her five children: Jacqueline Ruth Knight of Lethbridge; Sandra Lee Smith (Ricks) of Magrath; Gary James Knight (Lynn) of Lethbridge; Gail Janet Swerid (Kelly) of Calgary; and Ronald Scot Knight (Brenda) of Kelowna. Ruth is also survived by 17 grandchildren and 22 great grandchildren; brother and sisters-in-law: Barbara Anderson, Bernice Coleman, Pauline Secretan, and Pam and Richard Knight, and many cousins.
The Funeral Service will be held on Saturday, April 9, 2016 at 11:00 a.m. at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, FAIRMONT CHAPEL, 205 Fairmont Blvd. South, Lethbridge, with Bishop Joshua Sherwood officiating.
Friends may meet the family prior to the service at the church from 10:00 to 10:40 a.m.
Interment to follow in the Magrath Cemetery.

Edward Elijah Tangaroa Lowry of Lundbreck, Alberta beloved son of John and Margaret Lowry, passed away suddenly on Sunday April 3, 2016 at the age of 8 years.
Besides his loving parents, Edward is lovingly remembered by his 6 sisters; Sarah Victoria Tinirau, Elizabeth Margaret NgaAriki, Katheryne Rene TeVahine Arii, Emma Louisa Tutini, Rebecca Keiran Te-Atua-Nui, and Jessica Michelle Peonui Tawhiri; his 5 brothers, William Alma RangiMana, Iohane Benjamin TuiPeleHaka, James Ray Tewhiti, Elisha Charles O-rango-mai, and Joseph Levi Ngatata; his niece Margaret Linda Hera Lowry, brother in law Cameron Michael Bruder (Katheryne), sister in law Pamella Christine Norsworthy (William), his Grandpa Raymond Cooper, as well as numerous cousins and their families. Edward was predeceased by his grandparents, Thomas Gilbert and Veia Gwendoline Atua (Love) Lowry, and Alma Elizabeth (Taylor) Cooper.
Edward was born in the Pincher Creek hospital December 12, 2007. He entered school at Livingstone School kindergarten with Mrs. Dickson in Lundbreck, Alberta in 2013. He was in Miss. Annett’s and Mrs. Larson’s grade two class. He started cubs this year and enjoyed the activities greatly.
Eddie or Ed as he was known to his friends and family, loved playing with his lego, singing, and being outdoors. He always had a basketball or soccer ball in his hands “heading over to the court to playâ€.

JOYCE ANN MEDICINE CRANE passed away in Stand Off, AB on April 4, 2016 at the age of 54 years.
A Wake Service will be at the Old Saipoyi Gym, Stand Off on Monday, April 11th from 7:00 pm continuing all night.
The Funeral Mass will be at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Blood Reserve on Tuesday, April 12th at 11:00 am. Interment in the St. Catherine’s Cemetery.

Cheryll Anne Oakes
1949 – 2016
Cheryll Anne Oakes of Moon River Estates, beloved wife of Lloyd Sereda, passed away peacefully at Cardston Health Centre on April 3, 2016 at the age of 66 years.
Cheryll was born the youngest of ten children in Vulcan, AB, on the 20th of June, 1949 and moved to Swift Current, SK at age thirteen. Cheryll excelled at school, graduating from Irwin School as Senior Pin (or Valedictorian) of her class. She continued her studies at the University of Saskatchewan and completed her degree in Education at the University of Alberta.
Cheryll worked part-time as a teacher, while also establishing a co-operative childcare centre which is now called the St. Albert Daycare Society. She met Lloyd through the Daycare Society and they eventually became partners.
Cheryll’s dedication to improving and promoting early childhood education brought her to the Lethbridge Community College, where she became an instructor for over 30 years. As a breast cancer survivor, Cheryll devoted her extra time as a volunteer for the Canadian Cancer Foundation. Further, Cheryll served on boards of organizations in the Lethbridge community such as the Parent Preschool program, the Troyanda Ukrainian Dance Club and the Family Centre, dedicating her expertise, patience and compassion. Cheryll cherished her family and numerous friends, always putting them before herself. Through her diagnosis of ALS in 2011, her dedication to her family and community remained. Despite her declining health, Cheryll refused to give up her smile and her laughter. Her kindness and gentle manner will forever be cherished by those she loved and those who love her.
Besides her loving husband, Cheryll is survived by her daughter Anastasia Sereda; 5 sisters, Muriel (Chuck, deceased) Anderson, Janet (Don, deceased) Whiteman, Elizabeth (Max, deceased) Hanna, Georgina (Irvine) Bennett, Helen (Jack) Wieshlow; 3 brothers, George (Sharon) Oakes, William (Onalee) Oakes, and Robert (Faye) Oakes.
Cheryll was predeceased by her parents, Janet Oakes of Innisfail, AB and George Oakes, of Hamilton, ON, and sister Margaret (Al) McCashew.

Camilla Ettie Pilling (Lush)
1920 – 2016
It is with heavy hearts, we announce the passing of our mother, in the early morning of Monday, April 4, 2016 at her residence, the Edith Cavell Care Centre.
Cam had been predeceased many years ago by her mother Agnes, and her father, Tom. Her husband Garth either passed away in 2004, or maybe he just went curling somewhere…
She is survived by her sister Connie, of Calgary; two sons Gregg (Janis) of Edmonton, and Baden of Lethbridge. Also surviving are her grandson Dan (Lori) of Calgary, and granddaughter Kodee of Sherwood Park, AB. Her great-grandsons are Nathan and Chase Pilling from Calgary, along with nephew Howard (Ingrid) Zerr of Calgary; niece Marsha (Andy) Hamilton of Summerland, BC; in addition to numerous great-nieces and great-nephews.
The family would like to sincerely thank the staff at the Edith Cavell Centre for the never-ending friendliness, care and attention given to Cam as well as the other residents. At Cam’s request, no funeral service will be held.
