Ralph is survived by his loving wife Vera; children Cindy (Don) Carlson of Taber, Bruce (Lori) Jensen of Boise, Idaho, Janice (Alan) Anderson of Taber, Tom (Monica) Jensen of Provo, Utah, Julie (Allan) Smith of Edmonton and Brian (Angie) Jensen of Barnwell; nineteen cherished grandchildren and one great-grandchild. He is also survived by his sisters Ruth (Gordon) Jensen of Barnwell and Leah Dyck of Osoyoos, British Columbia; brothers-in-law Marion (Linda) Law of St. George, Utah, Chester (Elidia) Law of Sun City, Arizona and Garry (Anne) Law of Bow Island; sister-in-law Arlene Bester of Lethbridge as well as many nieces, nephews, cousins and dear friends.
He was predeceased by his brothers Mervin, Oliver and Dick; sister Edith Bengtson and brother-in-law Dave Dyck.
Ralph was born on December 18, 1923, in Purple Springs to Henry Andrew and Jenny Christensen Jensen, the second of seven children. At the age of four, Ralph moved with his family to the north end of Taber, and he has spent the majority of his life in the Taber area. Throughout his pioneer life, he has gone from horse and buggy days to the computer age. Ralph was a teen when the Depression hit, and learned in his youth to make a dime do the work of a dollar. He had a variety of jobs throughout his life, and said he was a jack of all trades and master of none. His favorite profession was probably farmer and rancher, which he continued well past retirement age. He met and married his forever sweetheart, Vera Claudell Folsom Law, and they celebrated fifty five years of marriage last summer. To this union came six children, who he dearly loved. Family was so important to him, and he loved to be together with them. Ralph was a man of great faith and integrity, serving in many capacities in
The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He fulfilled his current service as “greeter” two days before his passing. He was a quiet, unassuming man, but made a big impact on his family and friends. Although his body failed him in later years, his mind was sharp to the end. We know of his love for us, and love him right back equally.
If friends so desire, memorial tributes in Ralph’s name may be made directly to the Taber and District Health Foundation, 4326 – 50 Avenue, Taber, Alberta T1G 1N9.
