DR. JAMES LAURENCE LAYNG, beloved husband of Dora Penner-Layng, of Lethbridge, passed away at the Chinook Regional Hospital, on Saturday, December 24th, 2016 at the age of 86 years.
A Celebration of Life will be held at ST. AUGUSTINE’S ANGLICAN CHURCH – 411 – 11th Street South, Lethbridge, AB. on Friday, December 30th, 2016 at 2:00 P.M. with Canon James Robinson officiating.

A Family Service will be held at Eden’s Funeral Home (2424 5th Ave, Fort Macleod) on Tuesday, December 27, 2016 at 3:00pm , followed by a Wake Service at St. Paul’s Anglican Church (90 1st Ave. West, Cardston) until 11:00pm. A second Wake Service will be held at the home of Francine Smith beginning at 12:00 on Wednesday, December 28, 2016. A Funeral Service will be held at the Piikanii Community Hall on Thursday, December 29, 2016 at 11:00 AM. Interment to follow at the Brocket Cemetery.

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Marlene after a prolonged illness at the Ft. Macleod Extendicare. She was surrounded by family.
Marlene was very proud of having played basketball with the St.Mary’s Warriorettes, during her high school years. She met the love of her life in high school. Marlene Weeboy (Mike) shared a life in Saoki for 43 years. Photography was one of her many talents & it wasn’t surprising that people would go to her to look through her photo archives whenever they needed pictures.
Marlene was employed at Blood Tribe Family & Community Support Services for 10 years where she eventually became a supervisor & was also employed with St. Paul’s Treatment Centre for 5 years.
She was a devout catholic, was proud to have done her Cursillo & supported & participated in traditional ceremonies.
She was an excellent mother & doted on her grandchildren. She encouraged her children to pursue their education & she lived to rejoice the birth of her first great grandchild during her final year.
Marlene is survived by her husband Mike; daughters; Charlene (Keith), Gabriel (Andrew), & her son Micheal (Cheryl); 9 grandchildren, 1 great grandson, 4 brothers & 5 sisters. Numerous nieces & nephews 7 sisters in law & 2 brothers in law.
She was predeceased by her parents Raymond & Kathleen Young Pine and her Mother-in-law Mary Louise Oka.
The family would like to acknowledge the wonderful & thoughtful care she received from the nurses & staff at the Ft Macleod extendicare.
A Family Viewing will be held at Legacy Funeral Home in Cardston on Tuesday, December 27th, 2016 from 4:30 to 5:30 pm. Following the family viewing the Wake Service will be held at the Senator Gladstone Hall, Blood Reserve, AB from 6:00 to 10:00 pm. The Funeral Mass will be held at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Blood Reserve, on Wednesday, December 28th, at 11:00 am. Interment in the Young Pine Family Cemetery.

GERALD “JERRY” CHENEY TOLMAN, passed away in Cardston on Friday, December 23, 2016 at the age of 82 years, beloved husband of Dianne Shields Tolman.
Besides his wife, he is also survived by his children, Tammy (Rod) Leavitt of Cardston, AB, Geoff (Rebecca) Tolman of Coquitlam, BC, Shaun (Kerry) Tolman of Raymond, AB, Krystal (Tim) Martindale of Rexburg, Idaho, Kylis (Tyler) Bevans of Cardston, AB; 16 grandchildren & 12 great grandchildren.
Friends may meet the family from 7:00 to 8:00 pm on Wednesday, December 28, 2016 at the Legacy Funeral Home in Cardston or at the church on Thursday from 10:00 to 10:45 am prior to the Service.
The Funeral Service will be held at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Cardston Alberta West Stake Center (Waterton Highway) at 11:00 am on Thursday, December 29, 2016. Interment to follow in the Hill Spring Cemetery, Hill Spring, Alberta.
