ANDERSON

The family of Eileen (Dahl) Anderson announce her peaceful passing on Sunday January 28, 2018, surrounded by loving family. We celebrated her 88th birthday in December. Left to mourn are her 9 children: Helen, Marilyn (Dave), Carol D. (Greg), Betty Lou (Ron), Judy (Doug), Sherry (Kevin), Shelly, Jon Rex, David (Brenda); 42 Grandchildren and 72 Great Grandchildren, as well as her siblings Reed (Vivian deceased), Marvin (Dee), Linda (Dave), Lois (John) and many other extended family. She was predeceased by her sweetheart & devoted husband, Rex Lyman Anderson; her parents, Clifford and Ened Dahl, siblings Wayne, Louise, Eva & Garth; her sons in law, Jack Creaser and Jim Coppieters; Great grandson David.We wish to thank all who have cared for our mother, with such loving service, in her home, at Ridgeview Lodge and Fairmont Park Extendicare. Our Mom lived a life of faith, dedicated service to family, friends and community, frugality, diligence, commitment, creativity & hard work. She always wanted to do what was right. We are thankful for her good example. A Funeral Service will be held at 1:00pm on Saturday, February 3, 2018 at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints- Knight St. Chapel – 260 E 200 N Raymond, AB, with Bishop Darren Bevans, officiating. There will be a family gathering for immediate and extended family on Friday, February 2, 2018 from 6:30 – 7:30pm, also at Knight St. Chapel in Raymond. Friends may meet with family prior to the service between 11:45am -12:45pm. Interment to follow in the Temple Hill Cemetery.

On January 29, 2018, George Harold Bowen of Beaumont, formerly of Edmonton, passed away at the age of 87 years.

George is survived by his loving family: sons and daughter, Greg (Diane), Barbara (Kim) Gregory, Chris (Cathy), Jim, and Paul (Paige); eleven grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. He was predeceased by his wife, Armida.

Linquyen “Lin” Hua

1919 – 2018

Mrs. Linquyen “Lin” Hua of Lethbridge, beloved wife of the late Mr. Siu Hua passed away peacefully on Tuesday, January 23, 2018 at Legacy Lodge at the age of 98 years. Lin was born in Guangxi, China in 1919. In 1942, Lin and her husband moved to Hai Phong, Vietnam where they settled roots. She enjoyed cooking for her family and others, caring for her many beloved grandchildren, as well travelling to destinations such as England, Australia, Asia, and the United States. Lin is survived by her seven daughters Xuong Minh Hua (Siu Phay Tran), Phan Minh Hua (Si Nam Le), Phuong Minh Hua, Le Minh Tran (Lam Tran), Nhip Minh Hua (Quan Van Nguyen), Denh Minh Hua, and Minh Minh Hua (Tray Hong); one son Luc Hua (Tracy Ly); 26 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; and one sister in China. A Memorial Service will be held at 12:00pm on Saturday, February 3, 2018 at MARTIN BROTHERS RIVERVIEW CHAPEL, with Wayne Kwan, officiating. Interment to follow in the Mountain View Cemetery.

John Walter Ross

1921 – 2018

Mr. John Ross of Lethbridge, formerly of Shaunavon, SK, beloved husband of Mrs. Joan Ross, passed away at the Chinook Regional Hospital on Saturday, January 27, 2018 at the age of 97 years. During his lifetime, John traveled extensively and had a variety of roles in clubs, associations and civic organizations. He was a Citoyen d’Honneur of Rochefort, Belgium and from France; Knight of the Legion of Honour. John retired after a career as a signaler in the military and retired again after a second career with Alberta Corrections. Besides his loving wife Joan, John is survived by four children from his first marriage to Shirley MacMillan, Marilyn, Elizabeth, William (Annabella) and Bruce; as well as Joan’s daughter, Anne, who joined the Ross family in 1978. John was predeceased by his parents Isaac Louis Ross (Jim) and Elsie Louisa Ross and his daughter Donna. A Funeral Service will be held at 11:00am, Thursday, February 1, 2018 at MARTIN BROTHERS RIVERVIEW CHAPEL, 610 – 4th Street South, Lethbridge, Alberta, with Canon James Robinson, officiating. Family and friends are invited to pay their respects one hour prior. Interment to follow in the Mountain View Cemetery, Field of Honour.

Donna Erickson
1924 – 2018
Donna West Erickson, passed away in Taber on Saturday, January 27, 2018 at the age of 93 years, after recently celebrating seventy five happy years of marriage to Lloyd Stevens Erickson.
A private burial service will be held at the Temple Hill Cemetery, Raymond prior to the memorial service.

Besides her loving husband Lloyd, Donna will be lovingly remembered by four daughters and their spouses; Judith (Larry) Vayro of Magrath, Peggy (Harold) Brown of Taber, Linda (Ken) Peterson of Las Vegas, Nevada and Kathy (Rob) Gibb of Ogden, Utah; three sons and their spouses Randy (Ardie) Erickson of Coaldale, Thomas (Ketena) Erickson of Richland, Washington and Leif (Helen) Erickson of Barnwell.  She also leaves to cherish her memory thirty five grandchildren, one hundred and three great grandchildren and five great great grandchildren.
She was predeceased by her son Joseph Erickson, three grandchildren and two great great grandchildren.
Donna was born in Raymond to Curtis and Iona West on May 9, 1924. Mom’s greatest joy was in the love and association she had with a large extended family. All her grandchildren, great grandchildren, nephew, nieces, neighbors and friends were welcome any time in her heart and home, where she spent countless hours serving and making each one feel loved and special.
She was an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and gave many hours of service through out her long lifetime. Donna and Lloyd loved the temple and spent many hours serving in many different temples of the world.
She will be remembered for  her feisty personality, zest for  life, joy of family and love of the gospel. Her lectures on attitude, hand stitched quilts and dishtowels, and her epic breakfasts will be greatly missed.
If friends so desire, memorial tributes in Donna’s name may be made directly to a charity of one’s personal choice.
