HAYES

Mr. John Leonard Hayes,

John Leonard Hayes (Leonard) was taken into the arms of his heavenly maker on February 22, 2018 at Lethbridge Chinook Regional Hospital surrounded by his loving family.

Leonard was born on November 24, 1933 in Lavalle Ontario. He knew the Lord and was instrumental in sharing his faith with his children and grandchildren. This resulted in a bumper crop of believers which include 12 children, 26 Grandchildren and 8 Great Grandchildren.

Leonard was an accomplished writer and entrepreneur who held a deep love for his family, his dogger Marley, people, politics and sports. However, his greatest passion was to ensure his family and friends knew that he loved them…. “More”. Leonard also took great pride in his home and his gardens. As much as Leonard was known for sharing his garden vegetables he was primarily treasured for his gift of language. His door was always open for a cup of coffee and a good “chin wag”.

Leonard was predeceased by his Love Helen Pansky, his Son John Lorne, Daughter Tracy Michelle, Parents Caleb and Polly, Siblings Leiland, Leslie, Lorna and Jimmy.Leonard will be greatly missed and lovingly remembered by his family, neighbours and friends. Leonard left a great legacy of Faith, Love and Forgiveness. One of Dad’s Motto’s was “Tap it Light” and “I’m out of here like a burst of chicken dust”.

In honour of Leonard a Celebration of Life will be held at 1:00pm on Wednesday, February 28, 2018 at CHRISTENSEN SALMON GENERATIONS FUNERAL HOME – 703-13 Street North Lethbridge, AB. Service will be followed by a Come and Go at his home immediately after the service.
