DREWRY
Dorothy Fay Drewry passed away peacefully of natural causes in Raymond, Alberta on Thursday, May 17, 2018 at the age of 91 years.
She was born February 21, 1927 to Reed Leroy Wilde & Katie Glen Bullock, at home in Welling. She graduated form Welling High School in 1945, and attended the University of Calgary, University of Alberta, and Brigham Young University.
Dorothy married John “B” Drewry on October 2, 1951 in the Cardston Alberta Temple. They had four children; Bruce (Kathy), Bryan, Brett (Jolynne) and Carolyn (Wayne) Woolston; ten grandchildren; and twenty-two great-grandchildren.
Although Dorothy lost her father when she was 12, she had a happy childhood and surrounded by loving family members, immediate and extended. She learned how to work and enjoyed music, sports and learning. These attributes benefitted her family as she was a great example of balancing being a wife and mother, with teaching school and serving in her church and community. She always made sure each child had a homemade quilt for their wedding, and the grandchildren loved the quillows and quilts she made for them. In her retirement years, John and Dorothy enjoyed traveling together and her family appreciates the personal and family history she compiled and distributed to each of her children and grandchildren.
Her ability to communicate deteriorated in her final years, her fun sense of humor would occasionally reappear – a special gift for those in her presence.
Dorothy was preceded in death by both of her parents, husband John, and sister Carrel (and John) Wolsey.
In lieu of flowers, those who wish may make memorial donations to a charity of your choice.
