1939 – 2018

Ms. Beverly Carlson of Lethbridge, passed away at the Chinook Regional Hospital on Tuesday, November 27, 2018 at the age of 79 years. A Celebration of Beverly’s Life will be held at 2:30pm on Tuesday, December 4, 2018 at MARTIN BROTHERS RIVERVIEW CHAPEL, 610 – 4 Street South, Lethbridge, Alberta with Reverend Trevor Potter, officiating. Cremation entrusted to Martin Brothers Funeral Chapels.

HASEGAWA

GEORGE MASANOBU HASEGAWA, beloved husband of Marlann Hasegawa, passed away in his sleep November 27, 2018 after a courageous battle with Parkinson’s. He spent his last days surrounded by family and friends in his hometown of Lethbridge. The Funeral Service will be held on Saturday December 8, 2018 at 12:00 p.m. at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, LETHBRIDGE STAKE CENTRE, 2410 28 Street South, Lethbridge. Friends are welcome to meet with the family at SALMON AND SONS FUNERAL HOME, 433 Stubb Ross Road South, Lethbridge (entrance to the airport) on Friday December 7, 2018 from 7:00 to 8:00 p.m. or prior to the Service on Saturday from 11:00 to 11:45 a.m. at the Church.

Margaret Idonna

“Donna” Johnston

1925 – 2018

Mrs. Margaret “Donna” Johnston of Lethbridge, beloved wife of the late Mr. Francis “Frank” Marburn Johnston, passed away suddenly and peacefully on Saturday, December 1, 2018 at the age of 93 years.

Margaret was born in Lethbridge to Lilian Pritchard Poole, and Albert George Radford on April 4, 1925. After graduating from the Galt School of Nursing, Margaret worked for many years as a Registered Nurse at both the hospital, and Bigelow Fowler South clinic. She remained a lifetime good standing member of the Galt School of Nursing.

Margaret was passionate about her career in nursing and healthcare, horsemanship, and her cherished dogs. She loved the environment and the outdoors and was an avid traveler both locally and abroad in her younger years. She was active in fundraising for the Fish and Wildlife events in Lethbridge, as well as the Rocky Mountain Elk Foundation.

Margaret is survived by numerous nieces, nephews, great grand nieces and nephews, many dear friends, and her beloved Carrie.

“Aunty Donna” was cherished by so many generations and will be greatly missed.

A Memorial Service will be held at 10:00 AM, on Tuesday December 4, 2018 at MARTIN BROTHERS RIVERVIEW CHAPEL, 610- 4 STREET SOUTH, Lethbridge, AB., Reverend Eva Stanley officiating.

MITCHELL

Harry MacFarlane Mitchell of Lethbridge Alberta passed away at the age of 88 at the Chinook Regional Hospital on November 28th after a brief illness.

Harry was born in Medicine Hat Alberta on May 20th, 1930. He was the youngest son of Robert and Ida Mitchell.

Harry was predeceased by his parents, brothers; Robert, Ben, Jim and sister Tanny (Passmore) and in 2006 by his wife of 52 years, Shirley Marjorie (Hiscott).

A quiet, gentle cowboy, Harry is survived by his daughter, Toni-Leigh Mueller (Larry) and his son, Willis Ross (Wendy), three grandchildren and three great grandchildren. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.

Harry graduated from The Olds College and became a respected cattle buyer in the Lethbridge and Calgary area. Always a cowboy, he was the youngest son in the Mitchell Ranching Company.

Harry was an avid sports fan and a long time Minor Hockey Coach in Lethbridge. Dad was always up for an evening of reminiscing and storytelling with good friends and family.

As to Harry’s wishes there will be no funeral service.

We wish to thank all the very caring staff at the Lethbridge Regional Hospital for their excellent care and kindness to our Dad and Grandpa.

STANDING ALONE

Dr. Pete Standing Alone, passed away peacefully surrounded family on November 27, 2018 at the age of 90 years at the Kainai Continuing Care Centre. A Wake Service will be held between 7:00 P.M. and 11:00 P.M. on Friday December 7, 2018 at Kainai High School. A Funeral service will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Saturday December 8, 2018 at Kainai High School. Interment will follow at One Spot Cemetery, Old Agency, Blood Reserve. Grace Wemekamp

1950 – 2018

Mrs. Grace (Geertje) Wemekamp of Coaldale, passed away peacefully surrounded by family on November 29, 2018 at the Peter Lougheed Hopsital in Calgary at the age of 68 years.

She is survived by her children; Brad (Christy) Wemekamp, Melissa Yeomans, Jodi (Reuben) Van Popta, grandchildren; Tyler and Amber Helle, Cassidy Wemekamp, Bobby and Brielle Yeomans, Hannah, Rebecca, Sarah and Simeon Van Popta, as well as her sister Kathy (Richard) Kamphuis, and numerous nieces and nephews.

Grace was predeceased by her husband George, parents John William and Jacoba Van Dieren, and sister Minnie Kamphuis.

A Memorial Service will be held at 2:00 PM, on Wednesday, December 5, 2018 at WESTMINISTER CHAPEL, 329 – 19 STREET NORTH, Lethbridge, AB., Pastor Ian Crooks officiating.

A private family Graveside Service will be held prior to the Memorial Service.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the ICU at the Peter Lougheed Hospital in Calgary in honor of Grace Wemekamp.
