DAVID JOHN BLACKMER, of Coutts, born on March 5, 1957 in Lethbridge, passed away at the Milk River Health Centre on Sunday, April 28, 2019 at the age of 62 years.
A Prayer Service will be held at ST. PETER’S CATHOLIC CHURCH, 321 Main Street N.W., Milk River, AB on Sunday, May 5, 2019 at 7:00 P.M. with Father Roque Pereira officiating.
A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at ST. PETER’S CATHOLIC CHURCH on Monday, May 6, 2019 at 11:00 A.M. with Father Roque Pereira celebrating.
A Private Family Interment will be held at the Coutts Cemetery.

BURKE
AMY LENORA BURKE (neè Hunt) of Milk River, passed away at the Milk River Health Centre on Tuesday, December 25, 2018 at the age of 96 years.
Amy will be lovingly remembered by her sons Gordon (Elaine) Ross of Botha, AB, and Tom (Bobbi) Ross of Warner, AB; daughter Lana (Rick) Schock of Sunburst, MT; grandsons Tim (Fay) Ross of Breton, AB, Rocky (Christine) Ross of Botha AB, Ryan (Jen) Ross of Breton AB, Randy (Tracy) Ross of Whitecourt, AB, Jason Wilson of Medicine Hat, AB, Tyler (Jamie) Wilson of Cypress TX and Jon (Lucia) Ross of Toppenish, WA; ten great-grandsons and six great-granddaughters, as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
Amy was predeceased by her parents, sisters Robina, Jean and Mary and brother Tracy. She was also predeceased by her son Rodney and two grandsons Justin & Robert.
Amy Hunt was born November 20, 1922 to Vern & Amy Hunt in Milk River. She lived in Milk River until she married Waldo Ross on November 22, 1942 and moved to Warner. She had four children: Gordon, Rodney, Tom and Lana. In 1962, they bought a ranch west of Fort Macleod and moved there. In 1970, Amy & Waldo divorced and she married Dean Burke. They lived in Jamaica for two years, before moving to San Jose, CA and later to Auburn, CA. Dean passed away in 1989 and she moved back to Warner. In 2010, Amy moved to Milk River, and then to the rest home until her passing.
Amy loved life. Some of her favorite things were music, dancing, gardening and entertaining and visiting with family and friends. Her door was always open.
“If ever there comes a day we can’t be together, keep me in your heart. I’ll stay there forever.”
A Graveside Service will be held at the MILK RIVER CEMETERY, on Saturday, May 4th, 2019 at 2:30 P.M. with a Reception to follow at the Warner Senior’s Centre.

It is with great sadness that we announce that Gertrudis Marcela Alas, went home to her Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ, on April 19, 2019 at the age of 67. Marcela is survived by her four children Jose Galdamez, Flora Aguirre, Sylvia Wasylyshen and Ricardo Alas. She was a wonderful loving grandmother to 6 grandchildren. MONTGOMERY “MONTE” JOHN PAHARA, of Lethbridge, passed away peacefully at St. Michael’s Health Centre Palliative Care Unit on Saturday, April 27, 2019 at the age of 70 years.
Monte will be lovingly remembered by his son Shane Pahara; grandson Kaiden Pahara; sisters Debbie and Renee Pahara; and nieces Cindy Pahara, Clint (Kimbo) Pahara and Cole (Emily) Pahara. He is also survived by Linda (Pahara) Cox and Poomjai Lumpongnue.
Monte was predeceased by John & Lillian Pahara, Shannon Pahara and Jace Pahara.
Monte was born to John & Lillian Pahara at St. Michael’s Hospital, on Saturday, May 29, 1948. He loved adventure, whether it was in the mountains or on the coast in B.C. and every road and place in between. He developed a sincere and deep love of Jesus Christ and shared that love with everyone he met. He volunteered for ten years helping with Salvation Army Prison Ministry and was a dedicated patron of the Full Gospel Business Men’s Fellowship in Lethbridge. He also volunteered his time at the Lethbridge Soup Kitchen and at Streets Alive Mission, also in Lethbridge. He was a caring guide to those in need and will be missed by everyone who knew him.

MARGARET “MAGGIE” POLLEMANS, beloved wife of John Pollemans of Coaldale, passed away at St. Michael’s Health Centre – Palliative Care Unit, on Wednesday, April 24, 2019 at the age of 65 years.
Besides her husband John, Maggie is survived by her children Adam, Anita (Levi) and Roger; stepchildren Mandy (Ken) and Matt (Tonya); grandchildren Isabella, Triestin, Carter, Keaton, Harlow and Branden; and great-grandson Beckett. She is also survived by David (Susana) Dyck, George (Tina) Dyck, Tina (Cornelius) Remple, Marie (Frank) Froese, Anna (Jake) Remple, Marie Dyck and Eva Dyck and Nettie (Josh) Entz.
Maggie was predeceased by her parents Johan and Margaret Dyck and siblings Tina, John, Jake and Isaac.
Maggie was born August 8, 1953 in Cuauhtemoc, México. At age four and a half, Maggie, with her family, pioneered to Belize where she lived until 1981 when Maggie and her children moved to Canada. Maggie started her career in nursing, moving later into massage therapy. John and Maggie met in May 1996 for a picnic. It was so special to them that they celebrated every year thereafter with a picnic in the park. They married in 1997.
Maggie faced her illness much like she faced any challenges in her life; with strength, courage and her unwavering faith in the Lord. Her family and friends will miss finding her in the garden and her stories of her beloved Belize.

DOROTHEA ZENTNER, beloved wife of the late Louie Zentner, passed away peacefully at the Chinook Regional Hospital on Sunday, April 28, 2019 at the age of 91 years.
Dorothea is survived by her children: Ed (Paulette) and their children Chadron (Sarah) and Adam (Diana); Caroline and her children Nicoel, Robin and Heather (Kyle); and Melina (Scott), as well as three great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her sister, Rosa.
Besides her beloved husband, Louie, she was predeceased by her infant son, Thomas.
