ROBERTS
BRYNLY HUGH ROBERTS, beloved husband of 64 years to Carol Roberts, of Lethbridge, passed away at the Chinook Regional Hospital on July 4, 2019 at the age of 86 years.
Dad’s favorite saying was K.I.S.S. (keep it simple stupid), so here it goes. Dad was well known for his stories and he even got a few published. When he was teaching, he would spend summers travelling Canada on his motorbike. He had a quick wit and would tease mom constantly. Dad often said how proud he was of his grandkids. He was more of a “No Fuss – No Muss” kind of guy. Dad will be greatly missed and forever loved.
Besides his beloved wife Carol, he is survived by his son Kelly (Jocelyn) Roberts [Abigail & Alexa Roberts] of Lethbridge, Daughter Dianne (Gordon) Misener [Jordon, Luc, Noah & Michael Misener] of Biggar Saskatchewan, Son Hugh (Laurel) Roberts and family of Coaldale and son Alan (Wanda) and family of Lethbridge. Brynly will also be fondly remembered by numerous great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by his parents Ellen and Hugh and also by all of his siblings. When his last sibling passed away he said that he was finally number one.
As per dad’s request, there will be no Formal Funeral Service. He will be cremated and buried in Didsbury at a later date.
In memory of Dad, donations may be made to a charity of your choice.

Joseph “Joe” Patrick Schoen
November 9, 1924 – July 4, 2019
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Joe Schoen of Lethbridge, formerly of New Dayton, beloved husband of the late Mrs. RoseMarie Schoen, passed away at Chinook Regional Hospital, on Thursday, July 4, 2019, at the age of 94 years surrounded by his family.
Joe was born in Indian Head Saskatchewan and started his life on a little dairy farm. In 1929 the family moved to a farm east of Warner. At the age of twelve, Joe began his career as a hardworking farm hand and worked for many different farmers gaining the knowledge and skills to support a large family. At age 18 he began driving a school bus for the Lethbridge School District. Joe drove almost 100 miles a day to take the children to and from school. During those days when Joe was done driving the kids to school he worked at a garage during the day. When Joe was laid off from farming, he had to figure out how to make a living, so he set off on a little adventure to the west coast working in one of the largest sawmills. After a year he headed back to Alberta to work with his older brother, Tony farming. He also bought himself a truck and started his own business hauling coal and successfully did that for about four years. During this time, he met the love of his life RoseMarie Drake. They were married in 1951 and in 1952 they inherited the family farm and moved to New Dayton. That is where they lived and raised their six children. They were happily married for 52 years. His beloved RoseMarie passed on March 2, 2004. Till this day Joe fondly remembers how kind heartened and loving his wife was.
Joe is survived by his six children, Roy (Clarice) Schoen of Fort McMurray, Donald Schoen of Taber, AB, Gwen Schoen-Stewart of Calgary, AB, Neil (Susan) Schoen of Cranbrook BC, Celeste (Layne) Ment of Coalhurst, AB, Walter (Anna) Schoen of Lethbridge, AB. He will be missed by his grandchildren Brody, (Meghann) Schoen, Jared (Joan Marie) Schoen, Dawn Schoen, Kashtin Stewart, Erica and Jordan, Shane (Julie) Fletcher, Cheyenne Lyster, Nathan, Stephen, and Talisha Schoen; great grandchildren Ryder, Aria, Kai and Melena Schoen, Faith, Bennett and Hudson Fletcher, Otis and Svaya Lyster.
He is also endearingly referred to as Poppa Joe by Kache (Jody) Miller family and Richard (Jenna) Ment family.
Joe is also survived by his brother John (Evelyn) and special friends, Diane Schoen, Dave Stewart, Billy Fletcher, and Trevor Lyster.
A Prayer Service will be held at 7:00 pm, on Thursday, July 11, 2019 at MARTIN BROTHERS RIVERVIEW CHAPEL, 610-4 Street South, Lethbridge, Alberta.
A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10:00 am, on Friday, July 12, 2019, at ST. BASIL’S CATHOLIC CHURCH, 604 13 Street North, Lethbridge, Alberta.
