Reindert “Rein” Bakker

1931 – 2019

It is with great sorrow, but in the Lord’s time, we announce the passing of our father Reindert “Rein” Bakker, beloved husband of the late Jacomina Bakker, at the age of 88 years.

LLOYD T. BEISWANGER, of Picture Butte, beloved husband of Elizabeth “Nell” Beiswanger, peacefully went to heaven on Tuesday, September 3, 2019 at the age of 78 years.

Edna Irene Campeau

1926 – 2019

Edna Campeau of Lethbridge, beloved wife of the late John Campeau, passed away at St. Michael’s Care Facility on Saturday, September 7, 2019 at the age of 93 years.

Edna was born on June 23, 1926 at the Van Haarlem Hospital in Lethbridge.

Edna was predeceased by her husband John Campeau; parents Isaac and Edna Emmerson of Lethbridge, as well as her sister and brother-in-law Hazel, Brian Rossiter of Richmond, BC and her cousin Marjorie Farmer of Houston, Texas.

Edna is survived by her cousin Robert Rammard of Lethbridge; as well as numerous nieces, nephews and their families.

A Private Family inurnment will be held at a later date in the Mountain View Cemetery.

1945 – 2019

Mrs. Sharon Denecky of Lethbridge, beloved wife of Mr. Nick Denecky, passed away at St. Michael’s Health Centre on Wednesday, September 4, 2019 at the age of 74 years.

GALTS

KENNETH WALMER GALTS, beloved husband of the late Gertrude Jean (née Vornbrock), passed away peacefully at the age of 80 years on September 6, 2019 at the Milk River Health Centre.

Ken was born in Calgary on November 4, 1938 to Wally and Doris Galts of Coutts, Alberta. During his life journey he was a farmer, immigration officer, owned Ken’s Sports in Milk River, realtor and truck driver. Ken also traveled the world spreading the word of God.

He is survived by his daughters Laurie (Bob) Hartley, Noreen (Tom) Vavrek, Shannon Watson and son Glen Galts; ten grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.

Ken’s last home was the Prairie Rose Lodge, among friends and caring staff. The family would like to thank Dr. Krog and the wonderful staff at the Milk River Health Centre.

A Private Family Gathering to celebrate Ken’s life will be held at a later date.

GEIST

EDITH MAGDALENA GEIST of Lethbridge, passed away peacefully on Monday, September 2, 2019 at the age of 92 years.

She is lovingly remembered by her stepson, Peter (Dianna) Geist and their son, Nicholas; her sisters and brother, Elfriede (Eric) Kocher, Gerda Heeg, Helmut (Gerda) Kuhn and Renate (Joseph) Bach and families, many cousins and nieces as well as her long-time friends, Bernie and Emilie Schell.

Edith was predeceased by her beloved husband, Lou Guenter Geist as well as numerous brothers and sisters.

Edith’s family is grateful to the doctors and nurses on 5A of the Chinook Regional Hospital as well as the staff of Linden View Lodge in Taber for their compassionate care.

A Celebration of Life will be held at SEASONS LETHBRIDGE, 1730-10th Ave. South, Lethbridge, AB on Friday, September 13, 2019 at 3:30 P.M.

A Private Interment will be held at Mountain View Cemetery.

Surrounded by her family, Mrs. HENNIE VAN HIERDEN, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother passed away peacefully to be with her Lord and Savior, who she loved so dearly at the age of 91 years on Friday, September 6, 2019.

She will be sadly missed by her loving children Antonia Indenbosch, Jennie (Jack) Indenbosch, Bert (Carolin) Van Hierden, Peter (Janet) Van Hierden, Henriette (Maurice) Indenbosch, Evelyn (Gerrit) Beekman, Rita (Albert) Boon, John (Martina) Van Hierden, Edward (Els) Van Hierden, Janey (Gerrit) Bezooyen, Margaret (Neil) Slingerland, Henry (Jane) Van Hierden, Elbert (Tanya) Van Hierden; 86 grandchildren and 136 great-grandchildren; sisters Corrie Ouwendorp, Eefje Ruiter, Maasje (Isaac) Kruijt, Cootje Vande Beek, and brother John (Jans) Klok.

She was predeceased by her husband John Van Hierden; granddaughter Joselyn Bezooyen; great-grandchildren Gabriel Poole, Andrew Indenbosch and Liam Lanz; 6 sisters Jantje Klok, Grietje Vande Munt, Hendrika Vandenberg, Jo Goorhuis, Mina Copier, and Willy VandeVelde; 5 brothers, Nees Klok, Henk Klok, Mannes Klok, Teunis Klok, Teunis Klok, as well as numerous in laws.

Condolences will be held from 7:00pm to 8:30pm on Tuesday, September 10, 2019 at MARTIN BROTHERS RIVERVIEW CHAPEL, 610 – 4 Street South, Lethbridge, Alberta.

A Funeral Service will be held at 1:00pm on Wednesday, September 11, 2019 at the NRC Picture Butte, with Reverend A. Geuze, officiating. Burial will be held in the Archmount Cemetery.

A light lunch will be served at Bethel Free Church in Monarch following the interment. Everyone is welcome.

Peggy Marjorie Lane

1923 – 2019

Peggy Marjorie Lane (nee Wooderson), beloved wife of the late Roy Arthur Lane, passed away on September 5, 2019, at the age of 96 years in Lethbridge Alberta.

Peggy was born in London England to Thomas and Daisy Wooderson (nee King) where she lived until marrying Roy in 1945. She trained as a teacher and was very artistic. After living in several locations in Canada, Peggy and Roy settled in Lethbridge to raise their family. Here she turned her artistic pursuits to gardening, creating an oasis on the prairies, painting the garden with broad strokes of colourful flowers, and also was a talented seamstress and baker.

Peggy is survived by her daughters Marjorie (Fred Andrews), Carol (Brian Kasper) and Patricia (Stephen Bell) and her grandchildren Matthew and Michael Bell.

A Funeral Service will be held at 2:00pm, on Tuesday, September 10, 2019 at MARTIN BROTHERS RIVERVIEW CHAPEL, 610 – 4 STREET SOUTH, Lethbridge, Alberta, with Pastor Rodger Halvorsen, officiating.

Interment will follow at Mountain View Cemetery.

Vernon Murray Meek of Lethbridge, beloved husband of Dora (Goller) Meek, passed away peacefully on July 22, 2019 at the age of 86 years. MULHOLLAND, BARBARA IOLA

October 18, 1969

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Barbara Mulholland. Barb passed away suddenly on Wednesday morning. She leaves to mourn her son Colton, her mom Betty-Jean (Larry Niessen), her sister Sylvia (David Moore) and friends Matt Baird and Shannon Horsburgh.

Barb also leaves behind her foster children Sydney Kabatoff, Jon Larocque and Kenisha Edwards. Barb was predeceased by her father Roy Kral, stepfather Larry Mulholland and her uncle Blaine Borggard.

A private service will be held for close friends and family.
