Olga Janzen

1933 – 2019

It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing from this world of Olga Janzen; wife, mother, grandmother, and dear friend to many in the Enchant community. Although she is now with the Savior whom she dearly loved, she will be sorely missed by those she left behind.

Born in Manitoba, her parents Abe and Lydia Unger moved to Ontario when Olga was about 2 years old. Here she spent the next 43 years, and here she met her future husband Rudy Janzen. They were married on May 4, 1958, and had four sons; David, Randy, Dan and Ted.

She was pre -deceased by her eldest and youngest sons.

Olga had a deep vital faith, and a vibrant prayer life and her love and joy of the Lord were very contagious. She will be sorely missed by her husband Rudy; her 2 sons Randy and Dan; daughters in law, Cheryl, Joan, Kathy, and Carmen; six grandchildren, Jordan, Jonah, Luke, Joanna, Talen, and Hannah; her brothers, Abe, Jerry, Sam and John; two sisters, Margie, and Agatha; sisters in law, Eleanor, Elizabeth, Laura, Hilda, Linda, Lena and Mary; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, and friends, too numerous to mention.

Olga was loved and made friends wherever she went. She worked for several years in a nursing home in Calgary where she received her practical nurses’ certificate. She loved cooking and spent 4 years as a cook at SA BC, and at a college in Ontario. She also spent numerous years as a volunteer cook in Louisiana after Hurricane Katrina.

Olga spent a number of years leading and teaching Bible Study. She enjoyed seeing others grow in their faith and love for the Lord.

A Memorial Service will be held at 2:00 pm, on Wednesday, September 25, 2019 at ENCHANT COMMUNITY HALL, 27 Centre Street, Enchant, Alberta, with Pastor Gary Burke, officiating.

A Private Family Graveside Service was held in the Enchant Cemetery.

Memorial donations may be made in Olga’s name to Compassion Canada, 85 Adelaide Street South, London, Ontario, N6E 4A3.

Cremation has been entrusted to Martin Brothers Funeral Chapels.
