John Bos
1937 – 2019
John Bos, beloved husband of Coby Bos, peacefully passed away in the hands of his Lord and Savior in Taber on Friday, November 15, 2019 at the age of 82 years.
Relatives and friends are invited to meet with the family at Southland Funeral Chapel, 5006 – 48 Avenue, Taber on Tuesday,  November 19, 2019 between 7:00 P.M. and 8:00 P.M.
A private burial service will be held at the Taber Memorial Garden prior to the funeral service.

Bertha Bota

1934 – 2019

It is with broken hearts we have to say goodbye to our mother, grandmother, and great grandmother. Bertha Bota passed away peacefully on Thursday, November 14, 2019.

Bertha was an LPN for 45 years in Lethbridge. She started her career at the Galt Hospital, then moved to St. Michaels Hospital, and lastly Lethbridge Municipal Hospital which then became Lethbridge Regional Hospital.

She is survived by her children, Norman (Margaret) Bota, Sharon (Robert) Creswich, Karen Miers, Ronalda (Mike) Hawkins; 9 grandchildren; and 16 great-grandchildren.

She was predeceased by her husband of over 60 years Ronald Bota, and her parents.

A family gathering will be announced at a later date.

Harold Cutforth

1930 – 2019

Mr. Harold Cutforth of Lethbridge, beloved husband of the late Mrs. Joanne Cutforth (Hubka), passed away peacefully at the Good Samaritan West Highland Centre & Estates, on Wednesday, November 13, 2019, at the age of 89 years.

Dad was born on August 8, 1930 in Barons, Alberta. He had a deep devotion to God and loved farming from an early age. Dad was kind and friendly to everyone he met. Mom and Dad enjoyed travelling when health allowed. They are now watching a Toronto Raptors game together and Mom telling Dad once again, to turn the volume down. We love you Dad! We are thankful you and Mom are reunited for eternity, in God’s perfect love.

He is survived by his 5 children; Danny (Yvonne) Cutforth, Debra (Klaas) Slomp, Diane (Perry) Konynenbelt, Donna Cutforth and Darrell (Isabelle) Cutforth; 12 grandchildren, Dustin (Lindsay) Cutforth, Andrew (Brenda) Cutforth, Dane (Cherie) Cutforth, Jessica (Brian) Cool, Laura (Dan) Booy, Brad (Nicole) Slomp, Sara Konynenbelt, Larissa Rempel, Nathan (Sarah) Koch, Kellie Koch, Tyler Cutforth, Brady Cutforth and 16 great-grandchildren.

Dad was predeceased by his beloved wife Joanne Cutforth; they were married for 63 years.

Special thanks to Maria, Melody, Chantelle, and other staff at West Highlands for their dedicated care of Dad.

HASE

We are saddened to announce the passing of TOSHIKO HASE, beloved wife of the late Dr. Shoji Hase. After an extensive hospital stay, she passed away at the age of 97 years.

She is survived by her brother Hiroshi (Herb) Urano of Olds and by several nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by sisters Shigemi Nagata & Kay Moriyama and brothers Shig & Yosh Urano.

Toshiko was born in New Westminister, BC and was evacuated with family in 1942 to southern Alberta and has lived in Lethbridge for the past 70 years. Through the years, Toshiko & Shoji travelled extensively including many trips to Japan. She spent much time attending to her house and gardening and entertained many guests from far and wide.

Per Toshiko’s wishes, a private family service and inurnment has taken place. Gifts of flowers or koden are gratefully declined. If one wishes, donations in her name may be made to a charity of one’s choice.

A big thank-you is extended to all medical and nursing personnel that attended to her needs.

MALCHOW, Christina

Christina Malchow (nee Rose) passed away on Thursday, November 14, 2019 at Claresholm, Alberta after a brave fight with cancer at the age of 96 years.

Chris is loving remembered by her children, Gail (Willie) Tschritter, Donna (Gordon) Gassner, and Wayne (Anita) Malchow; nine grandchildren, Ryan (Brandy), John (Linsay), Erin (James), Crystal (Kurt), Carmen (Brock), Jaime (Sterling), Kendra, Stacey, Kaitlyn; ten great-grandchildren, Kale, Kasandra, Emily, Aimee, Rebecca, Jana, Carter, Reid, Emery, and Owen; one sister, Helen Malchow, and numerous sisters- and brothers-in-law and nieces and nephews.

Chris was predeceased by her husband of 56 years, Bill Malchow; her parents, Helen and William Rose; brothers, George and Lenard Rose. She was a teacher for over 30 years and volunteered with many organizations in the community of Stavely.

Cremation has taken place, and at her request, there will be no services. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society, 200 – 325 Manning Road NE, Calgary, Alberta T2E 2P5 or a charity of your choice.

It is with heart-felt sadness that the Weasel Head/Andy families announce the passing of Phyllis Weasel Head on Monday, November 11, 2019 at the Chinook Regional Hospital in Lethbridge.

A Prayer Service will be held at Snodgrass Funeral Home in Pincher Creek on Saturday, November 16, 2019, at noon, followed by the Funeral Mass at St. Paul’s Catholic Church at 1:00 pm in Brocket.
