STEPHANIE MARIE FOX, beloved wife of Bill Powell Jr. of the Blood Reserve, passed away suddenly in Kalispell, MT on Sunday, December 15, 2019 at the age of 51 years.

A Family Service will be held at CORNERSTONE FUNERAL HOME, 2825 – 32 Street South, Lethbridge, AB on Friday, December 27, 2019 at 4:00 P.M.

A Wake Service will immediately follow at CORNERSTONE FUNERAL HOME from 5:00 P.M. to 9:00 P.M.

A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at ST. MARY’S CATHOLIC CHURCH, Blood Reserve, AB on Saturday, December 28, 2019 at 11:00 A.M. with Father Pawel Andrasz O.M.I. celebrating.

Stephanie will be laid to rest at St. Paul’s Cemetery following the Funeral Mass.

Jane Leffers

April 9, 1935 – December 22, 2019

On Sunday, December 22, 2019, the LORD took into his eternal glory Jane Leffers (nee Teitsma), loving mother of Howard and Irene (Nadia), Cornelius and Jennifer (Sophia, Darek, Kylie, Travis, Evan, Caitlyn), and Sylvia and Mike Hofsink ( Brendan, Rebecca, Emily, Jared), at the age of 84. Jane was predeceased by her husband John, her parents, her sisters Elisabeth and Dorothy, and her brothers Arjen and Dennis. She is survived by her sister Cornelia (Gus) Van Dasselaar.

A Memorial Service will be held at 11:00am, on Friday, December 27, 2019, at the Coaldale Canadian Reformed Church, Hwy #3 West, Coaldale, Alberta, with Reverend Jan Huijgen officiating.

A private family interment will be held prior to the service at the Coaldale Cemetery.

SCHMIDT

LESTER ARTHUR SCHMIDT, 95, passed away on December 20, 2019 in Cardston, Alberta. He was born June 22, 1924 in Wakaw, Saskatchewan. Lester graduated from the U of S with a degree in Agriculture and went on to farm in the Melfort, Sask. area for over 50 years, retiring to run a B & B in Cardston, Alberta. He was involved in Thatch Creek District, Beatty and many service groups and as well as his beloved United Church. His delight of cribbage took him to the gold in the Senior Olympics in Alberta. Lester’s gift with people, cooking, quilting and words filled his life and all those around him with laughter and memories. Joining his wife, Ellen Caroline (nee Woods), sons Donald Arthur and Larry Dwayne Walter, and grandsons Rylan Schmidt and Landis Holmstrom plus all of his siblings and many friends and relatives, Lester will be honored in the hearts of his son, Leslie, and daughters Carole Anne, Karen, Kathryn, Jeni ,and Geri, plus numerous extended family.

A private Family Viewing will be held at Legacy Funeral Home, Cardston on Friday, December 27 from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. The Funeral Service will be held at St. Andrew’s United Church, Cardston on Saturday, December 28 at 11:00 a.m. A Memorial Service will be held at Melfort United Church, Melfort, SK on Monday, December 30 at 11:00 a.m. Interment to follow in Melfort, SK.

William “Bill” Widdop

1951 – 2019

Mr. William “Bill” Widdop of Lethbridge, passed away at St. Michael’s Palliative Care Centre on Sunday, December 22, 2019 at the age of 68 years. Bill is survived by his children B.J. (Sheila St. Germain) Widdop, Dallas (Gaelyn) Widdop and Chris (Katrina) Delaney. Bill was pre-deceased by his son Morgan Widdop. A Come and go gathering will be held between 11:00am and 1:00pm on Friday, December 27, 2019 at MARTIN BROTHERS RIVERVIEW CHAPEL, 610 – 4 Street South, Lethbridge, Alberta. Cremation entrusted to Martin Brothers Funeral Chapels.

1950 – 2019

Catherine Wilson of Lethbridge passed away suddenly at the Gardenview Lodge on Wednesday, December 18, 2019, at the age of 69 years old. She is survived by her sister Beth Garner and her niece Jessica Garner and many cousins. Cathy is predeceased by her parents Audrey, Allan Washburn and sister Deborah Cserny. A memorial service will be held at 2:00 pm on Monday December 30, 2019 at Christensen Salmon Generations Funeral Home, 703 13 Street N, Lethbridge, Alberta.
