ANDERSON-WILDE

REEVA OCKEY ANDERSON WILDE, passed away peacefully on Monday, February 24th, 2020 in Cardston at the age of 95. Born in Cardston, Alberta, Canada on November 1st, 1924 to Herman Russell Ockey and Thelma Wynder Ockey, Reeva was the oldest child of thirteen. Reeva was raised in Beazer, Stavely and a short time in Rosemary, Alberta. She attended a one room school house until she moved to Cardston to work where she met Pete Anderson.

She married W.L. (Pete) Anderson on October 22nd, 1947 in the Cardston Temple and they were blessed with 3 sons; Chris O. (deceased), Barton Jay and Vaughn Dee.

She was active all her life and loved to play softball, badminton, and especially enjoyed dancing. Reeva and Pete loved to get together with friends and family to play Rook and enjoy parties. She enjoyed her associations and friendships in the “Sally Ann Club” of which she was a member for over 60 years. She enjoyed community service and received a 50 year pin of membership in the Ladies Auxiliary from the Cardston Hospital.

She loved to travel and was able to take her mother to Israel, Hawaii, and on many road trips throughout the United States.

She loved to garden and was generous in sharing with her neighbors the fruits of her labors. She entered the Cardston Fairs and won many awards for her beautiful flowers and produce. A favourite activity was to go huckleberry picking in the mountains every summer and she always got more than the bears!

Reeva served faithfully in many church callings and after Pete’s passing in 1987, she served two missions to the Family History Centre in Salt Lake City, Utah.

In 1992 she met and married Ronald Wilde. They built a new home and spent many years gardening, dancing and travelling together until his passing in 2018.

Reeva had a vibrant personality and loved life. She loved her children and grandchildren and was very generous and kind. Her happiest moments were spent with family.

She was predeceased by her parents, her husband Pete, infant son Chris, and five of her siblings; twins Thelma and Thelda; sisters Ileen (Norman) Parker and Larene (Boyd) Gedleman and brother Rex.

She is survived by sons Bart (Sue) and Vaughn (Susan), 16 grandchildren, and 47 great grandchildren.

Also survived by siblings Verene (Delmar) Sillito, Faye (Ralph) Buzzard, Dale (Lynn) Ockey, Myrna (Glen) Dunphy, Karen (Ron) Murphy, Sandra (Don) Sillito and Darren (Pat) Ockey.

The Funeral Service will be held at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Cardston Alberta Stake Centre East Hill (338-5 Ave E), in Cardston, AB on Friday, February 28th, 2020 at 2:00 p.m.

Friends may meet the family at the church from 1:00 – 1:45 p.m. prior to the Service. Interment to follow in the Cardston Cemetery.

1974 ~ JODY CROZIER ~ 2020

Jody Lynn Crozier, beloved wife of Dale Crozier of Medicine Hat, passed away on Friday, February 14th, 2020 at the age of 45 years. Jody also leaves to cherish her memory her children, Connor, Declan and Paige; her parents, Shirley and Gunther; one brother, Patrick; and one sister, Cindy. Jody was predeceased by her sister, Gale Kelly. HART

Crystal Jane (Harding) Hart, beloved wife of Ryan Hart passed away unexpectedly on February 22nd, 2020 at the age of 46, at the Lethbridge Hospital. Crystal was a loving mother to Taylor, Tianna, Cayla and Connor. She will be greatly missed.

Funeral services will be held at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, East Stake Centre, 4105 Forestry Ave. S Lethbridge, on Saturday February 29th at 11 AM with an opportunity to meet the family from 10-10:45 AM. Interment will take place at Union Cemetery in Fort Macleod at 2:30 pm

MILLER

VERNON LESLIE MILLER, passed away at the Chinook Regional Hospital following a lengthy battle with COPD, on Monday, February 24, 2020.

Vernon is the beloved husband of Sandra “Sandi” Miller, cherished father of Jennifer Burge and Michael (Amber), grandfather of Kody (Bev), Spencer (C.J.), Jessica, Victoria, Liam, Grayson and Ava; and great-grandfather of Trinity, Declan, Nya and Azalea; brother of Lynne (Ed) Ryback, Judy (Paul) Caulfield, Cameron (Barb) as well as nieces and nephews.

Vernon is predeceased by his great-granddaughter Lily-Ann.

Vern was an active member of the community. He was involved with the Gold and Silver Community Bands and South Country Brass. He developed his love for trumpet in high school. His passion later in life was wood turning. He was a founding member of the Chinook Wood Turning Guild and was involved in many capacities, still writing the newsletter when he could no longer attend meetings. He will be greatly missed.

A Celebration of Vern’s Life will be held at CORNERSTONE FUNERAL HOME, 2825 – 32 Street South, Lethbridge, AB, on Saturday, February 29, 2020 at 11:00 A.M. with a reception to follow.

Bruce Van Raalte

1949 – 2020

Bruce Van Raalte, of Lethbridge, Alberta, passed away peacefully after a hard-fought battle with cancer on February 20, 2020. Bruce was a young hearted and vibrant 70-year-old who was known for his booming laugh and his contagious smile. He was happily married to the love of his life Gwen for 44 wonderful years. Besides his loving wife Gwen, Bruce is survived by his four beautiful children, his daughter Carla (Robert) Jensen and their sons Cooper and Gibson, his daughter Erica Van Raalte, son David Van Raalte and his children Tatum and Flynn, and son Dennis (Nicole) Van Raalte and their daughters Ireland and Addyson. He is also survived by his brother Joseph Van Raalte and his sister Beverly (Michael) Borody, brothers-in-law Duane (Gloria) Illerbrun, Paul (Teresa) Illerbrun, Peter Illerbrun, Grant (Patti) Illerbrun, Marcel Illerbrun, and sisters-in-law Anne (Brent) Wilkins, and Nicole (Rick) Spetz, along with numerous nieces, nephews and their families. Bruce was predeceased by his parents Alfred and Jean, brother Bobby, and sister Peggy Blomme, parents-in-law Leonard and Germaine Illerbrun, brother-in-law Les Illerbrun, and sister-in-law Dan Illerbrun. A Memorial Service will be held at 1:30pm on Sunday, March 1, 2020 at SOUTHMINSTER UNITED CHURCH, 1011 4 Ave South, Lethbridge, Alberta, with Reverend Trevor Potter, officiating. Mrs. Eileen Watt of Lethbridge, beloved wife of the late Mr. James “Jim” Watt, passed away at Chinook Regional Hospital on Friday, February 21, 2020 at the age of 99 years and was welcomed into heaven.
