Mrs. Maartje “Mary” Oosterlee of Lethbridge, beloved wife of Mr. Bastiaan “Bas” Oosterlee, passed away at Legacy Lodge on Monday, March 23, 2020 at the age of 90 years. Funeral arrangements will be announced when completed.

SYLVIA MARIE CYR (nee LABRECQUE) beloved wife of the late Claude Cyr and beloved mother of her children, passed away on Monday March 23, 2020 at the age of 69 years.

Sylvia is survived by her children: Angèle Simoneau of Drumheller, Claude (Katherine Hoskins) Cyr of Athabasca, Nicole Oullette of Calgary, Renée Cyr (Clay Wheeler) of Redcliff, André (Keri Hembroff) Cyr of Spruce Grove, Paul Cyr of Spruce Grove, Donald (Melissa) Cyr of Fort McMurray, Daniel (Missy Dudley) Cyr of Fort McMurray, Julie & Kal Maillet of Fort Saskatchewan, and Marie Cyr (Tim Skahl) of Swan Hills. Sylvia was also the proud grandmother of 29 grandchildren. She is also survived by her sisters Jeanne Chailler and Barb Strome and brothers Clement, Phillip and Victor Labrecque.

A Private Service will be held at Cornerstone Funeral Home.

MATLOCK

RICHARD “MATTY” MATLOCK, beloved husband of LouAnne Matlock, of Coaldale, passed away at the Coaldale Long Term Care Centre, on Monday, March 23, 2020 at the age of 77 years.

Besides his loving wife LouAnne, Richard is survived by their daughter Staci (Ryan) Bayliss and four grandchildren: Aiden, Jaxon, Paige and Montana. Richard will also be remembered by his daughters Vee and Robyn and son Brad, brother Robert (Gail) Matlock and extended family Sean (Jayme) Erickson as well as numerous nieces, nephews and friends.

Richard was predeceased by his parents, Orin and Ivy as well as brothers Les and Cliff.

A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.

Dexter Smith, Sr.

(1937 – 2020)

It is with great sadness that the Smith/North Peigan families announce the passing of Dexter Smith (82 years) of Piikani Nation on March 21, 2020, at the Pincher Creek Hospital.

Due to current restrictions re: gatherings, the family hopes you will consider a memorial contribution in Dexter’s name to a charity of your choice in lieu of attendance.

A Wake will be broadcast from inside funeral home using speakers to family/friends sitting in their cars on March 26, at Snodgrass Funeral Home commencing 2:00 pm – 10:00 pm.

On Friday, March 27, family to proceed to Sandra North Peigan’s residence on Piikani Nation for Wake.

A Funeral Mass for family to be held on March 28 at 11:00 am, St. Paul’s Catholic Church, Brocket. Interment to take place at Sacred Heart Cemetery, Brocket.
