NICHOLAS CRAZY BULL “Piitasah’komapi”, son of Allison Crazy Bull, passed away on May 2nd, 2020 in Lethbridge, AB at the age of 19 years. A Family Service will be held at Legacy Funeral Home, Cardston on Thursday, May 21st at 11:00 a.m with a viewing from 9:30 – 11:00 a.m. Interment in the Blood Band Cemetery.

Mrs. Norma Fraser of Milk River, beloved wife of the late Donald Fraser, passed away at Good Samaritans Society of Magrath on Sunday, May 17, 2020 at the age of 91 years.

Mr. Clair Handsaeme of Lethbridge, beloved husband of Mrs. Carolyn Handsaeme and father to Mathew and Carly, passed away at the Chinook Regional Hospital on Tuesday, May 19, 2020, at the age of 61 years.

HARKER

CELIA (CARLEY) HARKER, passed away peacefully May 16th, 2020. Celia was born in Lloydminster, SK in 1939. After her father returned home from WWII they moved to Edmonton where she attended U of A for Biology. Here she met her soon to be husband George, they were married in the summer of 1961. Celia dedicated her life to raising their five sons and serving in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She loved to garden, to sew, and was a master quilter.

Celia was predeceased by her parents Cecil Henry Carley and Mildred (Quehl) Carley, her husband George Harker, and her brother Roger Carley. She is survived by her sister Susan (Brian) Hall. Celia leaves behind her five sons Zane, Quinn (Kristen), Nathan, Cory (Kristin), and Levi (Becky).

There will be a viewing for friends and relatives at SALMON AND SONS FUNERAL HOME, Friday May 22, 2020 from 7:00 to 8:00pm, please wait in your vehicle until a staff member comes to get you, also please wear a mask if possible. Hand sanitizer will be provided.

A small family Graveside Service will be held the following day in Magrath.

KLEIST

OLGA ROSE KLEIST, beloved wife of the late Norman Kleist, passed away peacefully at Citadel Care Centre in St. Albert, on Tuesday, May 19, 2020 at the age of 95 years.

WILLIAM “BILL” OKTABA

1936-2020

I lost my beloved husband today after several long years battling dementia. He is survived by his loving wife of 47 years, Susan Oktaba; his children Diane (Brian), Sandy (Ray), Doug (June), Ann Marie (Steve), David (Gloria), Sheri (Gerald) and two caring foster daughters Lindsay Bunch and Nicole Poleman. He is also survived by 11 precious grandchildren; sister Olga (Bill), Stella and numerous nieces and nephews.

He was predeceased by his parents George and Katherine and sisters Rose and Josie.

William was born in Fort William on Sept 17, 1936. He attended Selkirk High and worked for Great Lakes Paper for 37 years retiring to Nobleford, Ab at the age of 58.

I would like to give SPECIAL thanks to all the staff including dietary for the never ending kindness and patience they provided over his four year stay at Coaldale Health Center Continuing Care Services.

As per Bill’s request there will be no funeral services.

In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the Alzheimer’s Association or Diabetes Association.

BURTON JAMES PARD

Burton James Pard passed away in Brocket on Thursday, May 14, 2020, on the Piikani Nation. He was 48 years old.

Only 50 participants may attend any of the following because of current restrictions regarding gatherings. The family welcomes telephone calls, cards, and emails extending condolences.

A Wake to be held at 3:00 pm at Snodgrass Funeral home, Pincher Creek. The Funeral Service will be held on Friday, May 15, at 1:00pm Snodgrass Funeral Chapel, Fr. Roy Jayamaha, Celebrant. Interment to take place at the Piikani Nation Cemetery in Brocket.
