Begemann, Ilse Sophie

March 24, 1929 – June 26, 2020

Ilse Begemann passed away in Calgary on Friday June 26, 2020 at the age of 91 years. She is pre-deceased by her husband, Wilhelm; daughter, Dirka and a sister, Wilma. Ilse will be lovingly remembered by her three sons, Bill (Barb) of Onoway, AB; Dirk (Bonnie) of Calgary and Bernd (Fran) also of Calgary; 13 grandchildren and many great-grandchildren. Ilse was born on March 24, 1929 in Germany to Dietrich and Sophie Damke. She immigrated to Canada in 1957, first settling in Lethbridge. The Begemann family had also lived in Medicine Hat, Foremost and Blairmore where she spent many years with her best friend Ulli Tacs. Ilse was a kind and attentive mother. She always looked after her family and had a particularly close and special relationship with her daughter, Dirka. Ilse loved being a hostess and preparing delicious homemade meals for family and friends. She possessed a spirited and determined personality. She will be missed by many family and friends. Rudy Chet Jonovan Crow Eagle

At 28 years, Rudy Crow Eagle passed away suddenly on the Piikani Nation. A Prayer Service is to be held at 10:00 am on Monday June 29th at Snodgrass Funeral Home in Pincher Creek, with Manfred North Peigan as Celebrant. Following the Prayer Service, a one-day wake shall take place at Dianna North Peigan’s residence in Brocket. A Funeral Service shall be held outside at Dianna North Peigan’s residence on June 30th in Brocket followed by Interment at Brocket Cemetery on Piikani Nation.

DANNY JR. EAGLE CHILD, passed away on June 22, 2020 at the age of 53 years. A Wake Service will be held at Lanissa Raw Eater’s residence, Siksika, AB on Thursday, July 2nd at 1:00 pm continuing all night. The Funeral Service will be held at Legacy Funeral Home, Cardston on Friday, July 3rd at 2:00 pm with a viewing from 12:00 – 2:00 pm. Interment in the Eagle Child Cemetery.

FLESCH

May 29, 1942 — June 26, 2020

MYRNA YVONNE FLESCH passed away at South Health Campus in Calgary on Friday, June 26, 2020 at the age of 78 years.

Myrna is survived by her brothers, Melvin (Glory) Yorgason and Larry (Irene) Yorgason; her nieces and nephews, Carole (Scott) Angeles, Bonnie (Chaz) Drozdiak, Nolan Yorgason, Nikki (Darryl) Thom, Cherise Yorgason, Reed Yorgason, and by Kayla (Danyon) Angeles and Omar Angeles.

She was predeceased by her partner, Shirl Bilton, and her parents, Hazel & Marvyn Yorgason.

Myrna’s early education was in Stavely. She enjoyed music, gardening and rug hooking. Her working career—which began in Edmonton—culminated in her becoming Canada’s first female Airport Manager in Lethbridge. After beginning a partnership with Shirley Bilton and moving to her farmland in Stavely, they were instrumental in achieving the first homozygous, polled, full-blood Blonde d’Aquitante animal recognized in the world.

Per Myrna’s request, there will be no formal funeral service. A private family interment will be held at a later date.

GORDON ALEXANDER MELVIN, beloved husband of Sharone Melvin of Lethbridge, passed away surrounded by family at Chinook Regional Hospital on Thursday, June 25, 2020 at the age of 72 years.
