BRANDEN, Richard Wayne
1960 – 2020
Branden, Richard Wayne, of Lethbridge, beloved husband of Deb, passed away suddenly at home on July 9, 2020 at the age of 59 years.
Born Sept. 14 1960 in Ottawa, Ontario, Richard traveled with his parents until landing in the Lomond area where the family farmed for many years. He then made his way to Vulcan where he started work with the CP Railway. He met and married Deb and they moved to Lethbridge to raise 2 beautiful children, Lukis & Jazmin.
Richard was very, very passionate about not only the railway, but perfecting the railway. He was so proud of his career and his workplace – 35 years of memories with amazing men, many who became life long friends.
Richard spent many hours with Beau, his four-legged best friend and loyal companion and many cherished moments with his granddaughter Izabel and family gatherings weekly. He will be truly missed by all.
Richard is survived by his wife Deb (Lerohl), son Lukis, daughter Jazmin (Jordan) Branden-Lemay, granddaughter Izabel, brother Dan Branden, sister Lori Branden, Beau (his loyal companion and best friend), nieces and nephews – Trumanda, Skylar, Ryker, Cheyanne & Cody and a host of extended family and friends. He was pre-deceased by his parents Leroy & Ann Branden
Family Graveside Service will be held Friday, July 17, 2020 at 1 pm at the Vulcan Cemetery.

Cote, Roland Conrad
June 30, 1934 – July 9, 2020
It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Roland Conrad Cote in Pincher Creek, AB, on July 9, 2020. He was a devoted and loving husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather. His family was a great source of pride and joy. He is survived by his wife of 61 years, Mary, and their five children, Jeannette Wilson (Lee), Raymond Cote (Beatrix), Colette Jones (Steve), Denis Cote (Loretta) Jocelyn Nelson (Cory), sixteen grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. He also leaves to mourn his brother Rene Cote (Claudette) and sisters, Suzanne Viens and Carmen Belhumeur (Bernie).
Roland was an avid sports fan and extremely active in the community. He will be fondly and forever remembered as that bass singing, golf loving, hockey loving, games night hinting, joyful, happy man by his family and friends.
Roland was predeceased by his parents, Conrad and Blanche Cote, sisters, Judith Lamoureux and Josephine Babin, and brothers, Edmond Cote and Gerard Cote.
The family would like to thank the doctors and staff at Linden View, Taber Hospital, Lethbridge Hospital GARU and Pincher Creek Hospital for their exemplary care of Roland and his family.
In Roland’s memory, if you wish, in lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Alzheimer Society of Canada (20 Eglinton Ave. W., 16th Floor, Toronto, ON M4R 1K8). Due to Covid-19 restrictions, the Funeral Mass and Interment will be a private family gathering. A family and community Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of CLARA HAMMERSTEDT, beloved wife of Ole Hammerstedt, at St. Therese Villa on Monday, July 13, 2020 at the age of 91 years.
Besides her loving husband Ole, she is survived by her children, Ken (Judy) Hammerstedt, Ron (Kim) Hammerstedt, Peggy (Kim) Cockerill and Lori (Scott) Noble; grandchildren, Eden (Kim), Kyle (Kristen), Kristi (Scott), Josh, Amy (Chris), Tess (Demi), Candace (Luke), Lindsey (Kyle), Grace, Ben (Shannon) and Emily (Peter); and great-grandchildren, Brooklyn, Josie (Josh), and Jax.
Clara was predeceased by her oldest daughter Nancy, brothers Fred, Alf, Len and Ron, and sister Winnie.
Clara was the daughter of Agnes and William Nicholls, born on April 28, 1929 in Richard, Saskatchewan. She attended school in Winnipeg, Manitoba. Clara met Ole through her girlfriend Audrey and they married on September 3, 1949 in Winnipeg, Manitoba. They moved to Lethbridge in November 1966 and then spent a few years in Taber, before moving back to Lethbridge where she resided until her passing.
Clara loved to camp, fish and gather with family and friends. She was a wonderful cook, especially when she made her roast beef and Yorkshire pudding dinners.
The family would like to thank the staff of St. Therese Villa for all their kindness and support during Clara’s time there.
