ROHALY

LOUISE MARIE ROHALY, beloved wife of the late Andrew Rohaly, of Lethbridge, passed away peacefully at the Chinook Regional Hospital on Saturday, August 15, 2020 at the age of 81 after a brief but brave battle with cancer.

She remained happy and optimistic throughout that time, but was taken far too early. She will be remembered by her children, Tracy (Larry) Gray of Kelowna, BC, Kimberly (Russell) Brosbol of Lethbridge and Lyn-Dee Rohaly of Lethbridge, as well as three grandchildren, Daniel Gray of Kelowna, BC and Kasandra & Kyle Brosbol of Lethbridge. She is also survived by her sister, Delores Dante of Lethbridge, and several cousins and relatives.

She was predeceased by her parents, Steve & Angelina Susnar.

Louise was born on June 22, 1939 in Lethbridge and was educated through the separate school system, and would later become part of the first graduating class of the LCC, majoring in education. She taught for ten years in the separate system and although she taught many different subjects, her favourites were always English, History and Typing. Louise touched many lives with her inspirational spirit and love of learning. Many of her students went on to become educators themselves. She even inspired her sister, Delores, to become an educator, and still teaches in the separate system to date.

Louise was a devoted wife, taking care of Andrew for over 25 years as he suffered with Multiple Sclerosis. She remained a devoted and loving mother throughout that time, showing us all just how strong and loving she truly was. Louise was truly an inspiration to all who knew her. Andrew & Louise were married on August 22, 1964 and would have celebrated 56 years together.

A Funeral Service will be held at CORNERSTONE FUNERAL HOME, 2825 – 32 St. S, Lethbridge, AB on Saturday, August 22, 2020 at 11:00 AM with Deacon Frank Peta officiating. Due to COVID-19 restrictions, kindly RSVP your attendance to Cornerstone. Seating will be limited to 90 guests. Facemasks are mandatory and will be available upon entry.

Following the service, Louise will be laid to rest with her beloved husband at Mountain View Cemetery.

The family would like to thank everyone at the Jack Ady Cancer Centre—you are truly wonderful people. They would also like to thank Dr. Jonker for helping her, although only for a brief time. Thank you to the Chinook Regional Hospital for taking such great care of Mom.

If friends so desire, memorial tributes can be made to the Canadian Cancer Society (www.cancer.ca/donate).

We love you, Louise, and will miss you deeply.

SCHOEN

DONALD PATRICK SCHOEN, of Taber, beloved son of the late Joe and Rosemarie Schoen, passed away peacefully at St. Michael’s Palliative Care Centre on Monday, August 17, 2020 at the age of 66 years. Don’s journey into heaven did not begin alone; he was surrounded by love and support from his family directly at his side, including his loving daughters, Callie and Ash.

Don grew up in New Dayton and enjoyed living on the farm. His passion for travel took him to many places, such as Australia, Venezuela and Mexico, which all became like his second home. Over the last seven years, Don proved to be a fierce warrior in his fight against cancer. He lived his life to the fullest, and recently embarked on a fishing trip to Prince Rupert. He was looking forward to his new title of ‘Grandpa Don.’ His grandson will now have his own special angel watching over him.

The family wishes to extend special thanks to Dr. Smuts, Gord Hoskins, and Donald’s bourbon buddies for all of their support over the years.
