CARLA JANE ACROSS THE MOUNTAIN passed away on November 1, 2020 at the age of 55 years.

A wake service will be held at Legacy Funeral Home from 5:00 – 8:00 pm on Monday, November 9, 2020. A funeral service will be held at Legacy Funeral Home at 11:00 am on Tuesday, November 10, 2020. Interment to follow at St. Catherine’s Cemetery, Blood Reserve.

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of JUERGEN “GEORGE” HANS GUSTAV BEYER, beloved husband of the late Liane Beyer. He passed away peacefully in his sleep at the Chinook Regional Hospital, on Sunday, November 1, 2020 at the age of 89 years.

George is survived by his children: Susan (Russ), Rita, Roy (Andrea), Gary (Denise), Andre and Ellen (Dean) as well as ten grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren. He is also survived by brother Albrecht (Margot), sisters Sigrid and Ellen (Horst) and sister-in-law Christa.

George is predeceased by his wife Liane, parents Hans & Maria, infant sister, brothers-in-law Manfred, Guenther & Rudy, mother-in-law, Lydia, father-in-law Otto and son-in-law, Barry.

George was born on July 26, 1931 in Bartenstein, East Prussia, Germany and came to Lethbridge in 1951 where he met his wife, Liane. They were married on October 22, 1955 for 63 years.

Special thanks to the staff at Piyami Lodge and Chinook Regional Hospital for the great care given to George.

Details surrounding George’s Celebration of Life will be announced at a later date.

JACKSON, LORNE GENE

(December 16, 1961

– October 30, 2020)

It is with great sadness we announce the passing of our brother, father, uncle, grandfather, nephew and friend, Lorne Jackson. Lorne passed away suddenly at the Foothills Medical Center at the age of 58 years surrounded by friends and care givers. Lorne was survived by his children: Savannah, Joseph, Emerald, Lorne, and Odin; his siblings: Brian, Raymond, Peter, Larson, Chris, Marlene, Janet, Betty-ann, Destini, Violet, and Ann; his special Aunt Vera; as well as many beloved grandchildren, uncles, aunts, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Lorne was predeceased by his parents: Margaret and Hector; older brother Joey, and twin sister Lorraine.

Lorne was born and raised on the Piikani First Nation. Along with his siblings he attended Peigan Indian Day School, Canyon Elementary School, and Matthew Halton High School in Pincher Creek. Lorne was known for his talents in building construction and worked for many years as an Apprentice Journeyman. Lorne loved the outdoors, was an accomplished hunter/guide, and had an exceptional fondness for horses and animals. Lorne will be remembered fondly for his humor, generosity, and the many great memories so many of us have shared with him throughout the years.

A Private Family Wake service will be held on Friday, November 6, 2020 from 3:00 p.m. to 11:00 p.m. at Eden’s Funeral Home (2424 5th Ave, Fort Macleod). A Private Family Funeral Service will be held on Saturday, November 7, 2020 at 11:00 A.M. at Eden’s Funeral Home (2424 5th Ave, Fort Macleod). Following the service, the interment will take place at Brocket Cemetery.

The Jackson family kindly requests that all who plan to participate please be respectful of Covid Restrictions when attending all services.

KERBER

Mr. HANS DIETRICH “DICK” KERBER, beloved husband of Mrs. Yvonne Kerber of Claresholm, formerly of Lethbridge, passed away due to heart failure at the Fort Macleod Health Centre on Thursday, October 29, 2020 at the age of 84 years.

Due to Covid-19 restrictions, a Small Family Service will be held on Friday, November 6, 2020 at 11:00 A.M. For those unable to attend, the service will be live streamed and may be accessed via Dick’s obituary on the Cornerstone Website. A Celebration of Dick’s Life will follow in the future.

SHUTTLEWORTH

1959 – 2020

SHERRIE JANET LOUISE SHUTTLEWORTH (née Morand) of Lethbridge, AB, beloved wife of 42 years to Reid, passed away suddenly on Friday, October 30th, 2020 at the age of 60 years.

Sherrie was born in Calgary, Alberta October 31st, 1959. She moved to Lethbridge in 1977 to attend university and pursue a career in education, after she graduated in 1981. Along the way, she met Reid and they were married on October 13, 1978. Together, they had two children: Joshua and Tamara.

Sherrie had many loves in life, but none were more important to her than her children and grandchildren. Sherrie will be lovingly remember by her husband, Reid and her two children: Joshua (Chantelle) Shuttleworth and Tamara (Brent) Tiessen. Nana will be greatly missed by her grandchildren: Cyrus Shuttleworth, Sophia Tiessen, Penelope Tiessen and Wyatt Shuttleworth. Sherrie also leaves to mourn her mother-in-law, Lauretta Shuttleworth, sisters-in-law, Judy (Tony) Byers and Lisa (Scott) Severton, sister Tracy Duthie and her brother Charles (Jennifer) Morand, along with numerous nieces and nephews. Cody, Conner, Meagan, Spencer, Paige, Justin, Jesse, Hollie, Levi, Amy and Mollie all held a special place in her heart.

Sherrie’s second greatest love was teaching. She taught for 34 1/2 years before retiring in 2015. Along the way, she taught at Goldridge Hutterite Colony, John Davidson Elementary, Coalhurst Elementary, Sunnyside Elementary, Jenny Emery Elementary and Dorothy Dalgleish. She loved her students and always wanted to make sure that she had done her best to make sure each and every one of them were prepared for all the challenges that were ahead of them. Along the way in her extra time, she was a fitness fanatic; playing soccer, running marathons, ultra-marathons and working out at the gym were all part of her daily life.

A special thank you to Deb, Karen and Laurie for all their love and support.

At Sherrie’s request, there will be no formal funeral service.
