BYRON BRUCE MORDEN
Byron Morden passed away at Providence Place in Moose Jaw, SK, on Saturday, November 21, 2020 at the age of 79. He was born to Bill and Nellie Morden on April 22, 1941 in Lethbridge, AB. Byron earned a degree in Veterinary Medicine in Guelph, ON. He married his first wife Shirley Hume in Guelph and they moved to the Lethbridge and Calgary area for his work. He later completed a Ph.D. (Vet Pathology) at the University of Saskatoon. Byron dedicated his life to the care and well-being of large and small animals; he worked with Alberta Agriculture (Edmonton) as a vet pathologist in diagnostics, and research. During his long career Byron experienced owning his own clinic and working for the Department of Agriculture both at the Federal and Alberta Provincial levels. His last employment brought him to Brooks, AB, working for the Canadian Food Inspection Agency until retirement. Byron’s love of animals never ceased, and he surrounded himself with many, many pets. Being a nature lover, he enjoyed fishing, golf, gardening, bird watching and traveling. His recreation in the wintertime was skiing and ballroom dancing. He also enjoyed photography both in his private life and at work. Byron was predeceased by his parents and numerous other relatives. He is survived by his wife Lucille and his stepson Clayton (Sherry) and family; ex-wife Shirley (Ray); his sons Blair and Scott and their families; his sister Faye (Dennis) Cox, niece Cathy, nephew Keith and their families. 1936 – 2020
Arta “Gwen” George of Raymond, beloved wife of the late Mathew George passed away on Monday, November 30, 2020 at the Raymond Hospital at the age of 84 years.

Kennie Gladue
1960 – 2020
Mr. Kennie Gladue of Lethbridge, formerly of Slave Lake, passed away peacefully at home on Saturday, November 28, 2020, at the age of 60 years.
He is survived by his mother, Helen Berven; partner, Laurel Barnett; daughters, Joyce Barnett, Jamie Barnett; sons, Jesse Barnett, Chris L’Hirondelle and Justin Racine; and brother in law Ray Mathews.
He is predeceased by his sister Sharon Gladue.
A Celebration of Kennie’s Life will take place at a later date.
Cremation has been entrusted to Martin Brothers Funeral Chapels.

JOHNSON
GRANT ORTON JOHNSON passed away Friday November 20, 2020, in Calgary at the age of 95 years.
He was predeceased by his wife Elmoyne Effie Butler Johnson and two sons Boyce Kendall and Asael Milace Johnson. Grant was the oldest of 8 children born to his parents Jack and Bessie Johnson in Barnwell, Alberta. After graduating from high school and spending 18 months in the Canadian Army, he attended the University of Edmonton to start his career in teaching school. Grant taught 39 years and 4 months, beginning at Battle River Prairie School (Peace River), then Conquerville and Foremost. He was then offered a position in Cardston in 1949 at Leeside Elementary School, moving on into Cardston High School until 1956. He taught in Coutts, Coalhurst and Picture Butte, Alberta. The family lived in Lethbridge for over 50 years. For many of those years he taught night college classes for the Lethbridge Community College.
Grant was an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints all of his life. He will be remembered for his smile, positive attitude and his desire to serve others. He loved to teach and work on family history. He is remembered as a great genealogist and his many years researching and collecting family names and histories. Thank you Dad for ALL your efforts to locate family members.
Grant will be missed but not forgotten by his children Arlan Johnson, Ramona (Bruce) Easthope, Jeanelle (Jim) Livingston, Melanie (Rodney) Hillam; 17 grandchildren (and their spouses) and 50 plus great grandchildren.
A thank you to the staff at Seton Senior Community, Father Lacombe Care Center and South Campus Hospital for looking after Grant during these past several years.
A Private Family Service will be held on Saturday, December 5, 2020 at 11:00 a.m. Interment will follow at the Cardston Cemetery.

Loretta Marie Kuehn
1948 – 2020
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Loretta Marie Kuehn (Aubin), beloved wife to Ken Kuehn, passed away suddenly at the Medicine Hat Hospital with her family by her side at the age of 71 years.
She was born in Humboldt, Saskatchewan and moved around to numerous towns and cities around Saskatchewan and Alberta. She settled in Lethbridge with her parents, when she then met and married Ken on January 20, 1968. They had 2 children, son Keith Kuehn and daughter Pamela (Terry) Krueger.
Loretta enjoyed crocheting and knitting. She also belonged to the Skiff ladies club. Loretta also enjoyed music and dancing.
She is survived by her son Keith Kuehn; daughter Pamela (Terry) Krueger; 3 grandchildren Syvannah Reid, Skyler Reid and Madison Rogers; sister Darlene Aubin; brother Frank Aubin and father in law Herb Kuehn.
Loretta was predeceased by her parents Thomas and Kathleen Aubin; brother Gerry Aubin and mother in law Grace (Hap) Kuehn.
A private family service will be held with burial to follow in Archmount Cemetery.

Brent Renner
1955 – 2020
Brent Allan Renner, beloved husband of Donna Renner, passed away in Prince George, British Columbia on Tuesday, November 24, 2020 at the age of 64 years.

Brent will be lovingly remembered by his wife Donna; daughters Jen (Jake) Bradley of Edmonton, Melissa (Vince) Burke of Ponoka, Jill Renner (Vince Guercio) of Coaldale and Jody (Jason) Cook of Coaldale; grandchildren Hannah, Eric, Clare, Jalen, Livia, Zain, Sara, Tristen, Kenadie, Paislen, Madison, Connor and Audrey-Marie. He is also survived by his brothers Gary Renner and Larry (Terri) Renner as well as numerous nieces, nephews and friends.
He was predeceased by his parents Roy and Ruth Renner; brothers Richard, Ronnie and Dave; sister Shirley.
Brent was born in Taber on December 20, 1955 to Roy and Ruth Renner. He was raised along with his five siblings on an active farm, milking cows. While growing up, Brent helped his dad with janitorial work at a local school. Leaving school during grade ten to work at local businesses in Taber, Brent would later pursue the rodeo circuit, riding saddle bronc and outriding for well known chuckwagon drivers.
In Brent’s early twenties, he bought his first semi truck and started his trucking career which would become a lifelong path of forty plus years. From International to Mack, driver to manager/owner he wore many hats.
Brent married his first wife Elizabeth Fehr in 1977 and they had three daughters. In 1995 he would gain a step daughter with his second marriage to his present wife Donna.
People close to Brent know he was always on the go, following his love of trucking between Alberta and Saskatchewan with Donna by his side. In 2010, he was diagnosed with COPD but that never slowed him down, even vacationing with his wife Donna on cruises and to Mexico and Hawaii. Brent took his last highway trip up to Prince George, British Columbia to start up another trucking venture with his best friend Danny. On this trip Brent fell ill and sadly passed away peacefully with Donna by his side. He will be lovingly remembered and forever missed.

MARIA “MARY” SCHMOLD, of Coaldale, beloved wife of the late Benjamin Schmold, passed away peacefully at the Chinook Regional Hospital with her family by her side, on Monday, November 30, 2020 at the age of 81 years.
For those wishing to pay their respects, a Viewing will be held at CORNERSTONE FUNERAL HOME, 2825 – 32 Street South, Lethbridge, AB, on Thursday, December 3, 2020 from 3:00 PM to 5:00 PM. Due to COVID-19 restrictions, attendance will be limited to 10 guests at one time. Facemasks are mandatory and will be available upon entry.
Mary was born in Friedensdorf, Ukraine, on January 22, 1939. Mary is survived by her son Chris (Susan) and their children Melissa and Cameron; as well as five stepsons: Sig (Linda) of Calling Lake, AB, Ben (Linda) of Coaldale, AB, Richard (Lydia) of Mission, BC, Manfred (Brenda) of High River, AB, and Andy (Theresa) of Lethbridge. She is also survived by her sister, Anna Ruediger of Ontario, and brothers-in-law Wilhelm Schmold of Coaldale, AB, and Fred Schmold of Lac La Hache, BC, as well as many grandchildren, great-grandchildren nieces and nephews.
Mary was predeceased by her parents, Bernard and Anna Rempel, sister, Karen Martens and brothers-in-law Bill Martens and George Ruediger.
The Schmold family really appreciates the care, compassion and consideration of the nursing staff on 4A at the CRH during this trying time.
A private Interment will be held at a later date.
