Gary George Hofer
July 2nd, 1963 – July 8th, 2021
It is with broken hearts the we say goodbye to our beloved Gary who passed away peacefully surrounded by his family at the Claresholm General Hospital. He is predeceased by his father, George Hofer and mother, Ann (Wollman) Pearson. Left to mourn this wonderful man are his children, Luke Hofer, Liam Hofer, Riley Hansen, and Austen Hansen and his love, Debra Dunlop. His sister, Sharon (Jerry) Waldner, niece, AnnaMarie Waldner, and nephews, Jeremy Waldner and Adam Arsene-Waldner will miss him desperately.
Gary touched all who met him with his wide smile and wonderful sense of humour. He had a great talent for storytelling that swept you away into his world.
He had a gentle spirit and a compassionate heart making him a favourite among people and animals alike. His entire family truly adored him. He always had time to lend an ear and offer sound advice.
Gary was a true cowboy in every sense of the word. He was always true to himself. He knew who he was and lived that truth. He always loved ranch life and working with horses – he may have preferred them over people.
All who knew him will miss him terribly and we will always hold him close to our hearts and remembering him will always be sweet and will fill us with joy.
At Gary’s request there will be no funeral service, although his immediate family will gather to celebrate the life of an incredible man.
And Jesus said, “Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.” Matthew 11:28
We would like to extend a special thank you to Dr. Fraser Leishman and the amazing staff at Claresholm General Hospital. Your love and compassion will not soon be forgotten.

SMITH
JUDITH (JUDY) LEE SMITH, nee Grant, born on January 15, 1953, in Fredericton, New Brunswick to Peggy and Hayward Grant, passed away peacefully on July 8, 2021, in Raymond, Alberta. She is survived by her children, Joshua Smith (Brenda) their son Brandon and daughter Sally, Jacob Smith (Wanda) their daughters Brynn, Hannah and Abigail, Tiffany Kelly (Jason) their daughters Liliana and Molly, Benjamin Smith (deceased) and Andrew Smith. Judy grew up with 2 older brothers, Christopher and Lemuel (Chuck) a younger sister Susan and a younger brother David.
Judy was fiercely proud of her kids, grandkids and even her great- grandchild (Elliot). It always seemed that no matter how much trouble each of her kids could get into, she never stopped loving any of them. She rarely judged and supported her kids in every endeavor.
Judy was never one to not tell you exactly what was on her mind, almost to a fault. She was a free thinker, independent, loathed country music and had to learn how to adapt to tough situations. She had raised 5 kids alone, which is no small feat. Through her struggles, she taught her kids how to be resilient, survive anything that is thrown at them and how to also loath country music.
Judy would never let anybody tell her how to live her life, from trying to hitchhike across North America to what she claimed was her attempt to reach Woodstock (who knows what level of truth there is to that) to going to university while raising 5 young kids and dropping out because she was raising 5 young kids.
She has touched so many lives and her family would like to thank the doctors, nurses and the staff at Good Samaritans for taking exceptional care of our Mom, Nana and Great-Nana.
A Memorial Service will be held on Thursday, July 15, 2021 at 2:00pm at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints COBBLESTONE CHAPEL, 27 Cobblestone Lane, Raymond AB.
