It is with great sadness that we announce the sudden passing of MICHAEL “MIKE” JOSEPH DE BOER on Saturday, July 17, 2021 at the age of 63.

Mike was the cherished husband of Julia de Boer and loving dad and grandpa to

Christie and Stephen Klassen (Amara, Taylor)

Mark and Kary de Boer (Rylan, Asher)

Stephen and Katelynd de Boer (baby due 2022)

Ryan and Katelynne de Boer (Lincoln, Eloise)

Mike was born November 12, 1957. He married Julia de Jager on December 27, 1980 and they were blessed with 40 years of love, adventures and many blessings raising their four children on their acreage in the Lethbridge area. Mike worked in construction, real estate and housing sales for many years as well as growing, selling and moving trees. He loved living on and developing the acreage along with his wife and was always an entrepreneur, inventing and coming up with ways to fix things and solve problems. He loved playing his guitar. He was an encourager and friend to many, always very thoughtful of others and willing to help out in any way; setting a beautiful example of living life to the fullest with a deep and lasting faith in God. He will always be remembered for his big smile, encouraging words and his great love for his family.

He was predeceased by his father, Theodorus de Boer and nephew, Brian de Boer.

He will be lovingly remembered and missed by his mother, Ann de Boer; sister, Annette (Rick) Keating; and brothers: Dick (Brenda) de Boer, Simon (Darlene) de Boer, Jack (Cindy) de Boer, Al (Gina) de Boer, Len (Laura) de Boer, John (Laurie) de Boer, Bob (Sherri) de Boer and Dave (Cheryl) de Boer. He will also be missed by his extended family on the de Jager and Kalsbeek side along with all his nieces and nephews and his many friends.

A Viewing will be held at CORNERSTONE FUNERAL HOME, 2825 – 32 Street South, Lethbridge, AB, on Friday, July 23, 2021 from 7:30 P.M. to 8:30 P.M.

A Celebration of Mike’s Life will be held at MYVICTORY CHURCH, (1 Mile East, AB-3, Lethbridge, AB) on Saturday, July 24, 2021 at 1:00 P.M. The Service will be livestreamed and may be accessed via Mike’s obituary on the Cornerstone website.

Mike will be laid to rest in a private Graveside Service.

LENORE ELAINE FLETCHER, beloved wife of 53 years to Charlie Fletcher, passed away peacefully, with her loving family by her side, at the Chinook Regional Hospital, on Tuesday, July 20, 2021 at the age of 76 years.

Rick Maddeaux

1953 – 2021

It is with great sorrow that we announce the sudden passing of Rick Maddeaux (April 9, 1953 – July 8, 2021) Loving husband of Moira, devoted father to Chris (Hayley) & Mecole (Chris), doting grandfather to Henry & Isla.

Rick was an active member of the Lethbridge Blues & Rock scene.

ROMANCHUK

JOHN (NICKY) ROMANCHUK passed away in Lethbridge on July 18, 2021 at the age of 81 years. He is survived by his brothers Ken, Dennis (Delores), David (Darlene) Romanchuk and numerous nieces and nephews.

John was predeceased by his parents Nicholas and Renee Romanchuk and his sister-in-law Anne Romanchuk.

A graveside service will be held at Mountainview Cemetery in Lethbridge on Monday, July 26, 2021 at 11:00 A.M. Please meet at the flame at 10:45 A.M.

WILLOWS

Amelia Willows “Iiniioomaahkaa’kii” (Buffalo Running Woman) beloved Wife of the recently deceased Clarence Small Legs and Mother to her only child Dayton Willows, was called home to the Creator on July 13, 2021 at the age of 40 years.

Amelia was a loving mother, daughter, sister. She was always depended upon to help at home and especially at the Sundance. She was a very clean person; wherever she went she would always clean. She would always be the one keeping the home and tipi nice and tidy.

Amelia was a gifted artist who loved to draw, write poetry and play her guitar. Her beautiful kind nature will be missed by all who loved her dearly. She touched so many lives with her sense of humour and her genuine kindness. She had many talents that included sewing, crocheting and beadwork.

Amelia was an athlete in her younger years. She attempted many sports such as basketball, volleyball, badminton, softball, baseball and steer riding.

In her younger years she was a very dependable babysitter. She was called upon by various relatives to babysit many of her younger relatives. She was so good with children that she helped Melissa with Kadin when he was born. Amelia also worked at numerous places such as the Scotiabank in Standoff, different Health Care Aide facilities, the homeless shelter in Mosees Lake and Kainai Corrections.

Amelia attended school In Cardston, Hillspring and graduated from Catholic Central High in Lethbridge. She later attended Lethbridge College and received a certificate in office administration. She also received her Health Care Aide certificate from Training Inc.

Amelia will be dearly missed by her only son Dayton Willows, her parents: Maxine and Floyd Big Head and Patrick Crow Chief; her siblings: Melissa Willows, Tricia Willows, Amber (Randall) Crow Chief, Patrick (Leanna) Willows, Patrick Small Eyes, Carma (Mervin) Chief Calf, Robbie (Roland) Rabbit, Kelly (Homer) Rabbit, Sheena (Nathan) Tailfeathers, Toby Whiteman Left and Ainsley Bullshields; brother in laws: Stevie Heavy Shields and Todd Bruised Head; aunts and Uncles: Maxine Willows and the Late Keith Willows (they were also the God Parents), Duane (Wilma) Crow Chief, William(Carma) Crow Chief, Corina Crow Chief, Georgina Crow Chief, Leonard Big Head, Ivy Ann Big Head, Ramona Big Head, Emile (Noreen) Big Head, Jennifer (Terry) Big Head, Cherie Mcmurdie (Arnold), Lori (Galen) Laplante, Toni (Andrew) Madrid, Roxie (Alvin) Ladd, Jackie (Mike) Bromley, Pat Wings, Judy Wings, Cammie Wings, Belva Wings, Melody Wings, Patsy Weasel Fat, Carol Wings and Derrick Wings; special Aunts: Sandra Bruised Head, Kelly Wells, Shelly Big Sorrel Horse, Sherri Big Sorrel Horse, Trina Tallow, Audrey Tallow, and Carol Many Fingers; special grandparents: Sadie Wadsworth, Alex and the late Gloria Red Crow; best Friend Mandy Chief Moon; adopted sisters: Gaylene (Troy) Crow Chief, Candace Crow Chief, Crystal Chief Calf, Mikelelne Little Plume, Chico Crow Chief. Amelia is predeceased by her maternal grandparents: Earl and Alice Willows and Paternal grandparents Wallace and Mary Crow Chief; her sister Jillian Crow Chief; aunts and uncles: Keith Willows, Rose Crow Chief, Alfreda Crow Chief, Bonnie Big Head, Shawn Big Head, PJ Big Head, Bryce Vaile, Ardis Vaile, Earla Vaile, Kristen Vaile, Bucky Vaile, and Aloysius Wings.

A Family service will be held Tuesday July 20th at the Snodgrass Funeral Home from 5pm-6pm with an all night wake service to follow at Floyd and Maxine Big Head’s Residence in Fish Creek on the Blood Reserve. The Funeral service will begin at 11am on Wednesday July 21, 2021, and she will be laid to rest at the Willows family plot on the Blood reserve.

WOLF CHILD

John Edward Wolf Child passed away on July 17, 2021 in Cardston, AB at the age of 74 years. The Wake service will be from 5:00 – 8:00 pm on Friday July 23, 2021 at Legacy Funeral Home, Cardston and also from 9:00 – 11:00 am on Saturday, July 24 followed by the Funeral Service at 11:00 am at Legacy Funeral Home. Interment to take place in St. Catherine’s Cemetery, Blood Reserve, AB.
