Georgia Bartosek
1934 – 2021
Ms. Georgia Bartosek of Lethbridge passed away at St. Michael’s Health Centre on Thursday October 7, 2021 at the age of 87 years.
Georgia was born on March 2, 1934. She was a caring sister, aunt, and friend. She enjoyed her daily walks, going to church, reading her many novels and taking care of the family pets while they were on holidays. After retiring from the Bank of Montreal, Georgia loved to bowl with her friends and travel with her friends and family. She had a great sense of humor and a zest for life. She will be forever cherished and remembered by her family.
Georgia is survived by her sister Lydia Tomasta, brother Tony (Bernie) Bartosek as well as many nieces and nephews, Bob (Kathy) Tomasta, Ron (Marylin) Tomasta, Diane (Tom) Slywka, Nancy (Doug Winters) Tomasta, Melenie de Graaf, Rick Tomasta, Gary (Lana) Tomasta, Lorraine Tomasta, Antonette Tomasta, Terry (Ron) Busch, Correne (Brian) Martin, Roxane (Cam) Nicholas, Curtis Bartosek and also many great nieces and great nephews and cousins.
She was predeceased by her parents John and Antonia Bartosek, brother in-law Miro Tomasta and niece Karen Tomasta.
The family would like to thank the staff at St. Michael’s Health Center for the care and compassion they gave to Georgia.

Mrs. Mee-Gane “Micheline” Lai Ho Tong Fisher of Picture Butte, beloved wife of Mr. Dan Fisher, passed away at home on Thursday, September 30, 2021, at the age of 61 years.

ALLAN A JENSEN, beloved husband of the late Jeannine Jensen of Raymond, Alberta passed away peacefully at his home in the early morning of Sunday, October 10, 2021 at the age of 96 years.

Cornelis “Case” Kuipers
1929 – 2021
Mr. Cornelis “Case” Kuipers of Lethbridge, beloved husband of Mrs. Fanny Kuipers (Konynenbelt), passed away peacefully, surrounded by his family on Sunday, October 10, 2021 at the age of 91 years.
Case was born on October 22, 1929 in Zuidwolde, Groningen, The Netherlands. He immigrated to Canada in 1955 and met the love of his life Fanny Konynenbelt. They were married on October 26, 1962 and were blessed with one daughter and two sons.
Case was an active member of the Maranatha Christian Reformed Church.
Case leaves memories to his wife Fanny of 59 years; children John, Kenneth and Marsha (Stewart) Vyn and his grandchildren Kaitlin, Megan, Brenna and Michelle.
Case was pre-deceased by his parents Jans and Aafke Kuipers and his brother Jan.
Friends are invited to pay their respects between 7:00pm and 8:00pm on Thursday, October 14, 2021 at MARTIN BROTHERS RIVERVIEW CHAPEL, 610 – 4 Street South, Lethbridge, Alberta.
A Private family Memorial Service will be held.

A Wake Service will be held at the Tanner Senior Center, Cardston on Friday, October 15 from 6:00 to 11:00 pm. The Funeral Service will be held at Legacy Funeral Home, Cardston on Saturday, October 16 at 11:00 am. Interment will take place in the Panther Bone Family Cemetery.

John Overeem
1932 – 2021
It is with sadness that we announce the passing of Mr. Jan (John) Overeem, beloved husband of Mrs. Judith Overeem, in Picture Butte, Alberta, on Saturday, October 9, 2021, at the age of 89 years.
Dad was born in Veenendaal, Holland on March 18, 1932, to Cornelis and Kaatje Overeem and immigrated to Canada in 1949 at the age of 17, along with his parents and sister Johanna. He married Judith Slingerland on April 8, 1958, and they spent 63 years together. During those years, Dad and Mom spent twenty years in Rainier farming and running a ceramic business; then in 1984, they moved to Picture Butte and operated a woodworking business. Dad was also a bus driver for Calvin Christian School for many years. In his retirement, Dad started work on building a plane and joined the Lethbridge Flying Club. They especially enjoyed the Saturday morning breakfasts with the LFC, as well as travelling all throughout the United States, attending airshows. In October 2019, due to progressive kidney failure, Dad started dialysis and they moved to Bethesda Care Home in July 2021.
He is survived by his children Kathy (Matt) Jakober, Casey, Jenny (Anthony) Vanden Hoek, Joanne (Roy) Van Driesten, Corrie Davidson, Cor and special friend Marie, Judy (Art) Arends, John (Juanita), Jake (Margaret), Joyce (Andre) Van Weverwyk, Marilyn (Jan) VanderMeer, and Brenda (Wout) van Luik; sixty-one grandchildren and forty-one great grandchildren.
He also leaves behind his sisters-in-law Jannie de Kok, Fygje Van Herk, Coby Slingerland and Anneke Slingerland; brothers and sisters-in-law Wim (Teuni) Slingerland, Tony (Margaret) Slingerland and Andy (Nita) Slingerland.
He was predeceased by his parents; in laws Cornelis and Jannigje Slingerland; son in law Martin Davidson; sister Johanna Thomassen; brothers in law Kees Slingerland, Teun Van Herk, Jake Slingerland, Allen Thomassen and Huib de Kok.
Our family wishes to sincerely thank Dr. Wong and all of the nurses at the Lethbridge Renal Clinic, Lethbridge Family Services Home Care, and all of the staff at Bethesda Care Home for the expert and compassionate care Dad received.
Opportunity for Condolences will take place from 7:00 pm to 8:00 pm on Thursday, October 14, 2021 at Netherlands Reformed Congregation of Picture Butte.
Interment will take place at 10:00 am on Friday, October 15, 2021 at Picture Butte Memorial Cemetery. Please be aware that COVID 19 protocols for outdoor gatherings will be followed.
A Service for family and close friends will take place at 11:00 am on Friday, October 15, 2021 at NETHERLANDS REFORMED CONGREGATION OF PICTURE BUTTE with Reverend E.C. Adams, officiating. Please be advised that COVID 19 protocols for worship services will be followed.
