FAST

JOHN ISAAC FAST, beloved husband of Elsie, of Coaldale, passed away at the Chinook Regional Hospital on Tuesday, October 26, 2021, at the age of 78 years.

He is the loving father of Ken Fast of Lethbridge, Scott (Carey) Fast of Calgary, and Jason Fast of Medicine Hat.

He is also survived by four brothers and five sisters, four brothers-in-law, two sisters-in-law, as well as their spouses, and five cherished grandchildren.

John was predeceased by his parents Peter and Anna Fast, and parent-in-law John and Ann Epp.

Thank you to the doctors and nurses on 3B for the loving kindness given to John, as well as his son Ken.

A Celebration of Life will be held at the THIRD DAY CHURCH (#90 – 550 WT Hill Blvd. S, Lethbridge, AB) on Saturday, November 27, 2021, at 2:00 PM with Pastor Dick Deweert officiating. John will be laid to rest prior to the Service at Mountain View Cemetery.

The service will be live streamed and may be accessed via John’s obituary on the Cornerstone website or the Third Day Church website.

Vivian Fawns passed away peacefully on November 19, 2021 at Good Samaritan’s Prairie Ridge in Raymond, Alberta. She was 89 years old.

FERGUSON

On November 18, 2021, Ruth Irene Ferguson, loving wife and mother, passed away in Brooks, Alberta at the age of 80. Ruth was born in Cardston, Alberta on December 16, 1940. She grew up in Del Bonita on the family farm where she excelled in 4-H, winning several Grand Champions. She started her nursing career in Calgary and moved to Cardston, where she met Roy. They were married November 1, 1963. Ruth and Roy lived in Cardston, Foremost, Bow Island, and Brooks, where they retired. Ruth was very artistic she enjoyed (and mastered) many different crafts. She taught ceramics, painted, and even made flies for fly-fishing. She loved camping and fishing in the backcountry of the Alberta Rockies. Some of her and Roy’s best memories are from camping with friends up at Dutch Creek. Ruth was also an avid golfer. She and Roy spent many an afternoon at a variety of courses in southern Alberta. Ruth is survived by her loving husband of 58 years, Roy; her son Garnet; daughter Jacquie (Rob); granddaughters, Kaitlyn (Michael), and Kourtney (Jeff); grandson Cole; and great granddaughters, Kalista, Waverly, and Kamille. She also leaves behind her sister Janet, and sisters-in-law Barb, Kaye, Ruth, and Marj as well as numerous nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her parents Glen and Grace Powlesland; her in-laws Daisy and Dave Ferguson; her brother Bernie Powlesland; brothers-in-law Art, Scotty, David, and Richard. Ruth was an amazing wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother. Her passing leaves a hole in our hearts and she will be missed dearly. There will be no funeral by request. Ruth’s ashes will be scattered at a later date.

Keith Stepenoff

1951 – 2021

Mr. Keith Stepenoff of Lethbridge, beloved husband of the late Mrs. Marjorie Stepenoff, passed away peacefully in his home in Lethbridge on Monday, November 15, 2021 at the age of 70 years.

Keith was born on October 29, 1951, in Lloydminster, Saskatchewan to Nick (Helena) Stepenoff. He grew up on the family farm just outside Paradise Valley. Keith graduated from E.H. Walter School in Paradise Valley. He went straight to work after high school in Edmonton at Derrick Dodge as a lot man. From there he went to work with friends on a crew in road construction in various parts of Alberta. When he was working in Lethbridge he met the love of his life Marjorie, and her three children. Shortly after they moved to the family farm outside of Paradise Valley. That’s when they decided to adopt Troy and Tashia. Keith and Marjorie farmed till 1989, then moved back to Lethbridge, where Keith became a realter till he retired in 2019-2020.

Keith and Marjorie loved to travel and traveled many different places. Two of Keith’s favorite places to travel were Hawaii and Fairmont Hot Spring’s, some of Keith’s interests were hunting, fishing, camping, playing pool and having coffee with his friends. He enjoyed watching his grandsons play volleyball and baseball, and spending time with his children. He also loved watching the Edmonton Oilers games, he was an Oiler’s fan.

Keith is survived by his three daughters Christine (Glenn) Gouthro, of Wainwright, AB, Patti Christiansen of Calgary, AB, and Tashia Stepenoff of Lethbridge, AB; two sons, Mike Christiansen of St. Catherine’s, Ontario, and Troy Stepenoff of Lethbridge, AB; grandchildren Jasmine, Dustin, Kyla, Dallin, Ryan, Kale, Brett, Brandon, Drake and Bailey; three great grandchildren; sisters Linda (Gerald) Reasbeck of Manotick, Ontario, Doreen (Dennis) Erker of Edmonton, AB; brother Gary (Linda) Stepenoff of Scottsdale, AZ; as well as numerous nieces, nephews and their families.

He is predeceased by his parents Nick and Helena Stepenoff.

A Memorial Service will be held at 2:00 PM, on Thursday, November 25, 2021, at MARTIN BROTHERS RIVERVIEW CHAPEL, 610-4 Street South, Lethbridge Alberta.
