FIRST CHARGER, Stella STELLA FIRST CHARGER 1947 – 2022 Mrs. Stella First Charger of The Blood Reserve passed away peacefully at home at the age of 75 years. She will be fondly remembered and dearly missed by her family.

FRANK, Gregory “Greg” GREGORY “GREG” FRANK 1956 – 2022 Mr. Gregory Frank of Lethbridge and previously of Calgary, beloved father, son and brother, passed away at Chinook Regional Hospital on Thursday, December 29, 2022 at the age of 66 years.
Greg is survived by his daughter Breanne O’Brien; father Ernest Frank; brothers Dan (Julie), Terry, Jessie (Doris); sisters Jodi Frank, Sherri (Mitch) Fowers, as well as nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, and cousins.
A Celebration of Greg’s Life will be held in 2023 and will be announced at a later date.
Greg will be sadly missed and remembered with love.

STRAIN, Rose ROSE MARIE THERESA STRAIN 1934 – 2022 It is with great sadness we announce that ROSE MARIE THERESA STRAIN (BROCK) passed away in her sleep on December 30, 2022, at the Long Term Care Center in Milk River, AB.
Rose Marie was born in Hood River Oregon, May 9, 1934. She spent her childhood in and around Hood River and Baker City. She met her husband, Verne Strain in Great Falls, Montana where they were married in 1961, together they raised 6 children. Rose Marie, while raising a family, also worked as a Home Care support worker and was an amazing quilter and crafter! With her guidance a number of her grandchildren learned various crafts.
The Strains traveled frequently due to Verne’s profession in forestry. The family moved to Canada in 1969. They lived in British Columbia in a number of locations until they retired and moved to Warner, Alberta in 2002. Rose was active in Royal Purple Elks and Warner Seniors. She leaves behind her husband of 61 years, her children: Dennis (Julia), Phyllis (Randy), Johanna (Mark), Christina (Kevin) and numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren and recently great great Grandchildren.
Rose Marie was predeceased by her sons Roger and Russell.
Rose Marie was much loved and will be greatly missed and fondly remembered by all who knew her. A celebration of life will be held in Warner AB in the spring.

NEUFELD WHIMSTER, Jennifer JENNIFER NEUFELD WHIMSTER Oct. 4, 1969 – Dec. 25, 2022 JENNIFER ANN NEUFELD passed away suddenly at Seasons Retirement Community on Sunday, December 25th, 2022, at the age of 53 years.

POBERZNICK, Clara CLARA POBERZNICK 1931 – 2022 The family of Clara Poberznick (nee Tschritter) are heartbroken to announce her passing on Tuesday, December 27, 2022, at the age of 91 years.
Clara is survived by her daughter, Cheryle (Bill) Sangster and by her daughter-in-law, Janice Poberznick along with grandchildren, Darcy (Cheri) Bernhart; Troy (Mandi) Bernhart; Cale (Lindy) Poberznick and Hayley Poberznick. She also leaves to her memory her great-grandchildren, Blaine & Brock Bernhart; Dawson, Caitlyn, Addison & Brinlyn Bernhart; Remi & Bode Poberznick. She is survived by one sister, Betty Kultgen and one sister-in-law, Vi Hickman along with numerous nephews and nieces. She will also be remembered by Bill’s children, Bryan Sangster Kelly (EnidMary), Cam Sangster, and Jessica Sangster.
Clara was pre-deceased by her husband, Nick in 2016 and son, Blaine in 2019; her brothers Ben and Albert Tschritter and sisters Barbara Kultgen and Alice Grey.
Clara was born on February 9, 1931, in Redcliff, Alberta to parents, Ben & Tena Tschritter. She spent her childhood in Redcliff and then Foremost. Clara met Nick Poberznick at a dance in the spring of 1949 and on October 3, 1949, they married and took up residence in Skiff, Alberta where their daughter Cheryle was born in 1951 and son Blaine in 1953. They ran the General Store at its original location and then in the early 80s a new store was built by the community of Skiff and Nick and Clara stayed there for another 15 years. Clara was a member of the Skiff Ladies Variety Club and was the Avon lady for the area. She also worked in Foremost for a time and then ran the office at the Alberta Wheat Pool grain elevator in Skiff. Clara loved Avon and she sold it in the community and then began to ship it across Canada and the United States. She was given many awards as a top seller and took trips to conventions all over the States and continued to sell Avon until about five years ago. Clara was very quick witted and always had a funny story to tell about the people and years they spent in Skiff. She will be missed by all who knew her.

WELLS, Yuri WELLS It is with great sorrow with the tragic and sudden passing of YURI JANITA WELLS, daughter of Cee Jaye Jolaine Wells and Ray James Sage Fox, on Wednesday, December 28, 2022 at the age of eight months.
Yuri was born on April 2, 2022 and was welcomed into the world by her grandparents, Janita & Danny Chief Calf, and Sheldon Wells. She was loved by her brother, William Konner Fox III, to which they shared a loving bond. Yuri brightened the room with her infectious smile and her bright eyes lit up the room with her presence. Yuri was a happy baby and liked to eat at her grandma’s Leeanne Eagle Plume when she visited her aunt, Nakota and her cousins, Kyra and Eddie. Yuri was the angel to her great-grandfather, Lambert Fox and her grandfather, JR Fox. Yuri blessed her entire immediate and extended family with her presence and will be missed by all. Yuri battled RSV and finally succumbed to her illness and her sudden passing has affected everyone who met her.
A Family Service will be held at CORNERSTONE FUNERAL HOME, 2825 – 32 Street South, Lethbridge, AB, on Tuesday, January 3, 2023 from 6:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M., and will be continuing all night at Janita Fox’s home in Stand Off.
A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at ST. MARTHA’S CATHOLIC CHURCH, 355 Columbia Blvd West, Lethbridge, AB, on Wednesday, January 4, 2023 at 11:00 A.M. with Father William Monis celebrating.
Interment to follow in St. Catherine’s Cemetery, Blood Reserve. The family is requesting for everyone to bring a teddy bear for the burial plot.

DONKERBROEK, Albert Albert Donkerbroek
1936 – 2022
Albert Donkerbroek, beloved husband of the late Coby Donkerbroek, passed away in Taber on Wednesday, December 28, 2022 at the age of 86 years.
The Funeral Service will be held at Southland Funeral Chapel, 5006 – 48 Avenue, Taber on Friday, January 6, 2023 at 10:30 A.M. Burial to follow at the Taber Memorial Garden. Albert is survived by his children Glenn Donkerbroek of Pender Harbour, British Columbia, Kevin Donkerbroek of Taber and Grace Donkerbroek of Lethbridge; sisters Detje Aaltje Wijnalda, Aaltje Detje “Alie” Van der Ploeg, Rennie Donkerbroek and Janny Hummel all of the Netherlands.
He was predeceased by his wife Coby Donkerbroek, son Frank Donkerbroek and brother Anne Donkerbroek.
Albert was born in the Netherlands on May 17, 1936. He immigrated to Canada and settled in Taber where he farmed for many years. Albert was very community minded and supported various charitable causes and community events over the years.
