PYRCH, Ann Ann Pyrch 1932 – 2024 Anna Theresa Pyrch, beloved wife of the late Bill Pyrch, passed away in Lethbridge on Thursday, January 11, 2024 at the age of 91 years. Relatives and friends are invited to meet with the family at Southland Funeral Chapel, 5006 – 48 Avenue, Taber on Saturday, January 27, 2024 between 2:00 P.M. and 4:00 P.M. Ann is survived by her children Jocelyn (John) Davy of Lethbridge, Calvin (Karla) Pyrch of Lethbridge and Karen (David) Chilibecki of Vegreville; grandchildren Michael (Ashlee) Davy, Michelle Davy, Nicholas Pyrch, Kristan (David) Adkins, Jessica Pyrch, Melissa Pyrch, Dean Collett, Erin (Collin) Basso, Cole (Janessa) Chilibecki and Curtis (Maaika) Chilibecki; great grandchildren Max, Zoey, Shawn, Owen, Sophia, Phoebe, Anna, Bobby, Scarlett, Violet and Raylan. She is also survived by her brother Leonard (Dorothy) Karl; sisters-in-law Betty Karl, Mary-Ann Karl and Betty Moyer and by numerous nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband Bill Pyrch; parents George and Mary Karl; sister and brother-in-law Marcella and Alex Zuk; brothers Ivan Karl, Jerome Karl, Gerald Karl and by her grandson, Terry Davy. Ann was born in Hanover, Ontario on April 27, 1932. She took her nurses training in Guelph, Ontario and started nursing in Toronto. She didn’t like the big city so on a holiday to Heisler, Alberta to visit relatives, she called the Camrose Hospital and got a job that week. Ann and Bill met in Camrose and were married in 1956. They moved around, living in Thorsby, Compeer and Strome before eventually settling in Taber. Ann was a nurse and evening emergency supervisor at the Taber Hospital for many years. She was active in making hundreds of t-shirts and knitted items for the hospital auxiliary. She also knitted and crocheted over four hundred afghans for the Blankets for Canada Society. In 2012, Ann and Bill won a citizen of the year award in Taber. They moved into Lethbridge in 2017 and after Bill’s passing in January 2019, Ann moved to the Sunny South Lodge in Coaldale, where she resided until her passing. BILLINGSLEY, Leslie “Les” LESLIE “LES” ROBERT BILLINGSLEY April 4, 1951 – January 18, 2024 It is with sadness that we announce the passing of Les Billingsley, formerly of Lethbridge, AB, on January 18, 2024 at the Crowsnest Pass Health Care Centre, Blairmore, AB. He was 72 years of age.
Les was born on April 4, 1951 in Cardston, AB to parents, Dewenna and Devere Billingsley. As a young man, he met and fell in love with Mary Jane Meyers. The happy couple wed on July 6, 1974 and went on to be blessed with almost fifty years of marriage.
As a long-time business owner in Lethbridge, AB, Les was well-known in the community and made many lasting relationships over the years. He considered everyone he met a friend and treated them as such. When he wasn’t hard at work, and after retirement, Les enjoyed travelling and going fishing. He was also an avid Toronto Blue Jays and Raptors fan. Les’ was a life well-lived and he will be forever remembered with love and respect.
Left to mourn his passing and celebrate his life is his wife, Mary Jane Billingsley of Crowsnest Pass, AB; his brother, Bernie; and his sisters, Shirley and Sherri.
He was predeceased by his parents, Dewenna and Devere Billingsley, and his sisters, Darlene and Cassy.
With respect for Les’ wishes, no funeral service will be held. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations will be gratefully accepted by the Canadian Cancer Society (www.cancer.ca).

SCHAPANSKY, George George Schapansky 1944 – 2024 George Schapansky, beloved husband of Lily Schapansky, passed away in Taber on Monday, January 22, 2024 at the age of 80 years.
The Funeral Service will be held at the First Christian Reformed
Church, 3902 Heritage Drive, Taber on Sunday, January 28, 2024 at 3:00

HOFER, Peter HOFER PETER P. HOFER, the beloved husband of Anna Hofer and father of Leonard, Thomas, Ruben and Clara Hofer, passed away peacefully at his home on Tuesday, January 23rd, 2024, at the age of 83 years.
Peter was the colony minister for 33 years. Prior to that he was a carpenter.
The funeral service will be held at the Kings Land Hutterite Colony, New Dayton, on Friday, January 26th, at 12:00 P.M.

DAY CHIEF, Hilda “June” DAY CHIEF HILDA “JUNE” DAY CHIEF, of Lethbridge, passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family, on Wednesday, January 24, 2024 at the age of 81 years.
