Phyllis was predeceased by the love of her life Joseph (Clark) Roberts, her eldest daughter Terry Lynn Sherman, her parents, John and Lucille Heinzlmeir, mother-in-law Winnifred Severinson, her brother Marvin Heinzlmeir, sisters Doreen Wallace and Patricia Forsythe, nephew Kelly Pugh, sister-in-law Arlene Heinzlmeir, brother-in-law Bobby Hales, sister-in-law Marj Hales, brother-in-law Dave Forsythe, and special aunt and uncle Eva and Bill Borgen.
Phyllis was born in Calgary, Alberta on June 14th, 1942 and resided with her family in the Rockyford and Rosebud areas until her family relocated to Red Deer in 1954. In 1956 Phyllis met her future husband while attending school.
Phyllis was a loving wife and mother. She instilled in her children that family comes first, both in times of celebration and tribulation. A visit to her home was always filled with amazing meals and an array of baked goods. Grandchildren, nieces, and nephews would be known to visit the “storage” room to survey the bounty found within the giant freezer and pantry. Never shy of hardwork, countless hours were spent making costumes, fixing sports uniforms, caring for her garden and home and supporting the community by working at local elections. Phyllis made inumerable friends through her many years at Persnickety. Phyllis and her husband enjoyed spending time with their friends, travelling across Canada and the US, attending countless sporting events and taking the occasional trip to Las Vegas. In her later years, Phyllis’ love of travel continued, she was able to visit 34 countries over the course of her travels. Cruises, Hawaii, and Australia were among her favorite destinations. A trip to England and France with her 4 children is one that she cherished as it held many special moments.
Phyllis enjoyed life to the fullest and she will be greatly missed by those she has left behind. We take comfort in knowing she is once again with her husband, daughter, and other loved ones she so eagerly wanted to see in her last few months.
