BARIL SUSAN LAUREL (ALLEN) BARIL of Magrath, Alberta – our beloved, beautiful wife, mother, grandma Sue-Sue, sister, auntie, friend, teacher, listener, and confidante, passed away on July 14, 2024, at the age of 75. She was as calm, comforting, fierce, and steadfast as the prairies that made her. Friends may meet the family on Friday, July 26 from 7:00 – 8:30 pm at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Garden Place Chapel (170 N Centre St) Magrath, AB. The Funeral Service will be held on Saturday, July 27 at 2:30 pm at the Garden Place Chapel. Friends may also meet the family from 1:30 – 2:15 pm prior to the service. Interment will take place in the Magrath Cemetery.

HANS KUPERUS SR. 1932 – 2024 To our deep sorrow, it has pleased the Lord to take out of our midst our beloved husband, father, grandfather and papa on Friday, July 19, 2024, at the age of 92 years.
Hans Kuperus Sr. is survived by his wife of 67 years, Hendrika; his children, Hans and Jackie Kuperus, Arlene and Hank Slingerland, Miriam and Rick Veldjesgraaf, David and Cindy Kuperus and Esther and Jim Veurink. Hans was also cherished by his 21 grandchildren, and 65 great grandchildren.

HARRY ULLY 1941 – 2024 Mr. Harry Ully of Lethbridge, beloved husband of Mrs. Bev Ully, passed away peacefully with his family at his side, at Foothills Medical Centre, on Saturday, July 20, 2024, at the age of 83 years.

ROTH Eli Daniel Roth was born in Lethbridge on October 17, 2004. He passed away July 17, 2024 at age 19. Eli was known for making friends easily and having zest for life. He enjoyed outdoor activities including snowboarding, biking, hiking, skateboarding but most of all fishing. Eli was an avid basketball athlete who also enjoyed volleyball, soccer, badminton and track and field. More than anything Eli loved his family and his dog Luna. Eli is survived by his parents Jason and Jana Roth and his siblings Reuben, Julia, and Tyson; grandparents Rosemarie and Melvin Roth; Helen and Murray McDonald; great Oma Jannetje Indenbosch; aunts, uncles, cousins and his beloved fiancé Brooklyn Fehr. Burnell Bennett 1940 – 2024 It is with heavy hearts that the family of Burnell Bennett announce his passing in Raymond on Friday, July 19, 2024 at the age of 83 years.

Burnell is survived by his son Darren (Alison) Bennett of Lethbridge and their children Lauren (Matt) Mitten (their daughters Jocelynne and Callie), Taya Bennett and Justin Bennett; son Daryl Bennett of Taber and his children Natalie (Tom) Doucette (their children Noah and Brielle), Alyssa Bennett (Matt Boehme), Shantelle Bennett and John Bennett; daughter Vickie (Robert) Brown of Raymond and their children Ryan (Emily) Brown (their children Lucy and Teddy), Megan (Brent) Bester (their children Aurora and Apollo), Amanda (Austin) Toth (their children Bane and Bastian) and Kaden Brown. He is also survived by his sister Beth Wendorff of Raymond.
He was predeceased by his first wife LaRee Bennett; parents Cliff and Edna Bennett and sister Coral Pratt.
He was born on November 2, 1940, at the Galt Hospital in Lethbridge. Burnell grew up on the family farm in the Taber area and continued farming there until moving to Ridgeview Lodge in Raymond three years ago to be closer to family.
He enjoyed hunting and fishing with his family members, building and repairing farm equipment and working with young men in the Scouting program. Burnell also enjoyed working with family history records and going on vacations with family members and close friends. He enjoyed playing on, and coaching, various sport teams including fastball, basketball, volleyball and badminton.
Burnell was a faithful, active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints of which he had a firm testimony and found enjoyment reading the scriptures.
If friends so desire, memorial tributes in Burnell’s name may be made directly to a charity of one’s choice.
The family would like to extend sincere heartfelt thanks to the nurses and doctors at the Raymond Hospital who provided excellent care to make him as comfortable as possible during his stay there.

JARVIE GLADYS ANNE JARVIE of Lethbridge, AB, beloved wife of the late Charles Jarvie Sr., passed away peacefully at Legacy Lodge, on Saturday, June 29, 2024 at the age of 88 years.
She is survived by her son Charles Jr. (Suzanne, Nicole, and Kelli) as well as her daughter Carol (Carlee).
Gladys was laid to rest during a private ceremony at Mountain View Cemetery.

ALDERDICE, Albert “Allan”
ALDERDICE 1938 – 2024 MR. ALBERT “ALLAN” ALDERDICE of Calgary, beloved husband of 58 years to Ann, passed away on Wednesday July 17, 2024, at the age of 86.
Allan is survived by daughter Barb (Jim) and their children Krysten (Nathan) and Ryan, Son Alvin (Charlene) and children Megan, Brad (Jordyn) and Katie. As well as his sister Mary.
Allan was predeceased by son Joe, parents Annie and Joseph and numerous brothers and sisters.
Allan spent many years in agriculture. He managed the Taber Seed Cleaning Plant for 18 years. He was very proud of his many achievements and awards he received for his hard work during this time. He retired in 1992.
Allan was an avid gardener. His tomato and gladiolus plants were second to none. He cherished good friendships and was always ready to skunk anyone at a game of crib. He loved making his delicious bread pudding. Allan enjoyed playing with his grandchildren and taking Ann on road trips to see their family and friends. He was always building things for the house and garden. Later in life he enjoyed building miniature houses, grain elevators and farms. He was a kind and generous friend to all and has left a lasting impression on all who knew him. He will be greatly missed.
A Celebration of Life will be held at CORNERSTONE FUNERAL HOME, 2825 – 32 St. South, Lethbridge, AB on Saturday July 27th, 2024, at 11:00 AM.

ABDEL-MALEK, Pierre
IN LOVING MEMORY ABDEL-MALEK 1935 – 2024 PIERRE ABDEL-MALEK, a beloved patriarch and respected businessman, passed away on May 29, 2024, in Lethbridge, Alberta, at the age of 88. Pierre was born on September 22, 1935, in Mansoura, Egypt, and immigrated to Canada with his family in the late 1960s.
In his career, Pierre excelled as a General Manager/ Controller in the hospitality industry and visionary entrepreneur. Outside of work, Pierre found joy in traveling, spending time with family and friends, and savoring a good cup of coffee. He was a strong, dedicated, and loving man with a remarkable sense of humor.
Pierre is survived by his children Mary, Sameh, and Sherrif, as well as his grandchildren, great- grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.
His presence will be deeply missed, he will forever be in our hearts.
At Pierre’s request no formal funeral service will be held.

DE BOER MRS. ANNA DE BOER, beloved wife of the late Theodorus “Dick” de Boer passed away at her home at the View on Thursday July 18, 2024 at the age of 101 years.
She is survived by her family: Dick (Brenda) de Boer of Coalhurst, Simon (Darlene) de Boer of Lethbridge, Jack (Cindy) de Boer of Monarch, Annette (Rick) Keating of Cochrane, Al (Gina) de Boer of Lethbridge, Julia de Boer of Lethbridge, Len (Laura) de Boer of Lethbridge, John (Laurie) de Boer of Monarch, Bob (Sherri) de Boer of Monarch and Dave (Cheryl) de Boer of Lethbridge.
Anna is also survived by her 29 grandchildren, 47 great grandchildren, 3 brothers and one sister.
She is predeceased by her husband Dick de Boer, son Mike de Boer, grandson Brian de Boer, parents Simon and Marie Kramer, 4 brothers and 3 sisters.
Anna was born March 2, 1923 in Holland where she was raised and educated. After marrying Dick de Boer in 1949 they immigrated to Saskatchewan in 1952 with 2 children. In 1956 they moved to southern Alberta where they farmed until their retirement in 1985.
Throughout their retirement, Anna and Dick enjoyed many activities including golf, lawn bowling, and actively participating in their church and community. They spent many winters in Arizona where they met a number of close friends.
Anna lived the last 8 years at the View in Lethbridge where she met many new friends and enjoyed the daily activities with them.
Anna enjoyed the company of her family and friends and will be missed by all who knew her.
